Life is slowly creeping back to "normal." Many of us have been vaccinated and feel reasonably safe to meet face-to-face again, even unmasked. Some of us couldn't get the vaccine because of age, pre-existing conditions or auto-immune disorders. Members of our community fall into both of these categories.
In an effort to safely support people in either group (and everyone in between) as things move forward, we will be offering a variety of services for the time being. There will still be plenty of online, real-time Zoom classes being offered (see "Class Schedule" tab and scroll down to see the weekly schedule we're planning for the next session).

Services
At Clay Fitness we think every class should be a positive experience. We offer innovative programs and classes that help educate the community, motivate people to make lasting change, and help them integrate these changes into their lives. Because our goal is to make every hour with us a worthwhile investment, we strive to teach clients something new about fitness, physiology, nutrition, and body mechanics.
Eve started her fitness journey with yoga in 1998 in Austin, TX. After graduating from UVA, she spent several years ignoring her health at a desk job in human resources and wanted to get fit and healthy before starting a family. Eve greatly enjoyed practicing hatha yoga through two pregnancies and post-partum.
When most people think of personal training they think about paying for one-on-one sessions with someone who gives them undivided attention for an hour at a time. Unfortunately, for many people that one hour of training isn't enough to have a long lasting effect. When Clay trainers work with clients, it is a relationship that extends beyond the face-to-face personal training time.
It is our goal to see everyone get better. We don't promote a perfect way to look, or a perfect sport to practice - we just want to see you transcend. You can come to us overweight and de-conditioned, or you can come having just finished an iron man race - we all have space to improve. For most people, exercise is a lot more fun and effective when they have a specific goal and a finite amount of time to accomplish that goal.
Clay Fitness Independent Study Programs are designed to allow people who work out individually to ensure that they are staying on target and have some semblance of accountability and follow-up. The Independent Study Program is for experienced fitness practitioners who already know how to perform all standard movements (plank, squat, lunge, push-up, jumping.) with good form, and who have access to some fitness equipment.

I would say that I actively exercised my entire life, but it wasn't until I found Clay that I realized I only dabbled in exercise. Their personalized approach enabled me to achieve and exceed my fitness goals. All of their exercise classes are essentially personal training sessions because the trainer is keyed into each participant's needs. Impressively, as Clay transitioned to a virtual format due to the pandemic, they maintained the same level of attention, creativity, and accountability. I cannot more highly recommend Clay Fitness!

At clay, I like that I have the price point of a group class with the attention of one on one personal training due to the small class size and the care and attention from the trainers. They pivoted to virtual classes very smoothly and there is nice accountability to show up for class. Each class is customized to the specific group and there is high attention/modification to those healing from injuries and other situations.

Clay Fitness has helped keep me healthy since I (truly) limped into the studio back in the spring of 2013. Unable to run due to an overuse injury, I joined a weekly spin class and was made to feel welcome and "part of" from day one. Then I added personal training sessions. The transition to small group classes to today's zoom workouts has all happened with care and consideration of my fitness ability and goals. I have recommended Clay Fitness to my friends and massage therapy patients, and continue to. They are an integral part of my health and well-being, especially during the Pandemic.

I have trained with Hyam at Clay Fitness in 2015 and with Suzy in 2018 and now with Eve the current owner - she is not only a great trainer but she also knows body mechanics and tailor-makes each session for me, She is extremely attentive to good posture and form be it weights training or core exercises and challenges me in the most thoughtful ways. She has taught me to listen to my body appreciate and work with it. Training with Eve is truly the highlight of my week especially during COVID.

When I first joined Clay in 2015, I had never worked out in my life aside from the occasional workout class or gym visit here or there. I never could find anything I could stick with, but I knew immediately I had found my fitness family with Clay. In the almost 6 years since I had my first personal training session, I have grown in ways I NEVER expected. Not only am I fit in a way I never anticipated, I actually enjoy working out and look forward to the classes (now on Zoom due to the pandemic) and personal training sessions. I have learned so much about my body over the years and I feel like I

I have been working out at Clay Fitness for 10 years! I love it! All of the trainers are very experienced and professional. I loved the small group size classes and they are both challenging and fun. My fitness level and strength has increased greatly over the years. I love the personalized nature of Clay Fitness. They do a great job of motivating me and helping me make health and fitness a priority. I have had a few non-workout related injuries and the trainers are always great about modifying exercises to fit my needs and to make sure I'm being careful. The online transition has been seamless

I've been part of the Clay Fitness family for almost 5 years. The trainers are top notch, passionate, and knowledgeable. They approach fitness as a celebration of health and feeling good/strong in your body rather than making fitness about appearances. They're so great at creating challenging workouts and helping you reach your goals, while at the same time modifying and customizing to meet individual client needs. I can't recommend Clay Fitness highly enough!

I wanted to improve my overall health and strength and needed a coach to help focus my approach to working out. Through Clay, I had the opportunity to work with a multi-credentialed personal trainer who took the time to understand my goals, conduct an assessment, and design programs to help me gain overall strength. The live, online classes allowed me stay focused when we couldn’t meet in person.

I LOVE the spinning classes at Clay; Hyam is an AMAZING instructor! The studio is clean and relaxing and there seem to be lots of other fun toys to play with. All of the instructors are really nice and inspiring and it is a pleasure to do business there. Everyone is very on top of assisting you in scheduling, choosing the correct class and helping you get the very best possible workout.
