Ortiz Eye Associates was founded in 1964 by Philip A. Ortiz, O.D. The practice originally began in the Tratt Clinic building, moving to the present location in Morris, IL in 1969. We have grown substantially over the years to include the Ortiz Hearing Center. We also have onsite ophthalmologists for the convenience of our Morris residents.
Dr. Eligius Lelis and Dr. Majid Rassouli perform surgery at Morris Hospital and we can then see these patients the next day in our office. For over forty-five years, Ortiz Eye Associates has provided the very best in vision care to the residents of Grundy County. There has been one constant throughout these many years of change - an old-fashioned approach to patient care and a commitment to treat patients with care and understanding.

Here at Ortiz Eye Associates we provide medical and routine care. Every comprehensive exam our doctors do includes looking at the health of your eyes, providing tests when necessary to help protect your eyes and vision and providing a prescription at the end of your visit. Because of the extensive comprehensive exams we do we only bill medically.
Eye care professionals specialize in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision-many of which do not always have obvious symptoms. Eye doctors know how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and they understand the benefits and features of corrective lenses, both as eyeglass lenses and contact lenses.
At Ortiz Eye Associates & Ortiz Hearing we are fortunate to have a wonderful team of professionals who will make your office visit a pleasant one. Safe to say my Saturday morning visit for the first time was flawless. The nurse, Chuck and Dr. Merino explained everything they did which was important because they have all the latest machines I had never had before even getting my eyes checked at least every two years. They found the Cataracts no one else found and now I know that I can get my eyesight back! They calmed me down about the abnormalities on my exam so I can worry less! Thank you to all the staff who have already arranged for my follow up with the cataract surgeon.

In 2017 I went to Ortiz, which I can't even remember why. A few months ago someone from Ortiz called me and informed me that I had a balance due of $92.00. I asked the girl why someone hadn't called me five years ago to inform me I still owed money. To make a long story short Ortiz only called me one time in regards to this issue. I never heard back from them. Instead of calling me again they placed the $92.00 with attorneys and sued me. I now owe $174.00. U wish they would have reached out to me more. I think what they did was totally unfair.

From the time we walked into the office, our experience starting with the staff in reception and the technician Chuck was exceptional making my 11 year old daughter feel completely at ease.
Dr. Angelo Marino was kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable going above and beyond the specific eye care needs for my daughter. He was able to pinpoint problems that others were not able to assess.

Not enough stars to rate how excellent my appt was on 5-19-2020. I wasn't going to go due to concerns about cleanliness and safety during quarantine but I'm glad I did. I was greeted at the back entrance by Chris Harty, who is always so nice, and temperature taken. Everyone had masks on, there was a green and red coding system in place to assure cleanliness of rooms and equipment. I felt at ease, everyone was very friendly and professional, Chris Ortiz offered to check my glasses even though I wasn't there for that reason. He tightened and cleaned them which was a big improvement

I was worried about what to do about my eye emergency in the middle of the Covid crisis. But, Dr.Tim was their just like Ortiz Eye has always been there for me any other time I need eye care. I was impressed that Dr.Tim told me to come on over and he would wait for me to get to his office. I know no matter where I live I will travel to Ortiz Eye.

This office is full of fantastic staff. They go above and beyond to make my daughter comfortable and excited to come in for her appointments. Shes been being seen since she was almost 2 and they have always given her the best care. Shes now going on 5 and I would never take her anywhere else. They treat their patients as family. It is truly a special visit for her each time.

I've been coming to Ortiz for my eyes for years and every experience is great. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the doctors are amazing- funny, personable, qualified, and kind. The last time I went, I was running a little late because of another appointment I had before, and they still made time to see me. I appreciate them!

This is the place to go for your eyecare. I've had great experiences, through a complicated search for the contacts that would work for me, learning to use them for the first time and choosing new glasses. The staff is friendly and professional and Dr. Marino is great! They make you comfortable and they really care.

My Family have been with Dr. Tim for over 20 years. That should tell you something right there. Appointments at our convenience, flexible office hours and a very knowledgeable staff. When needing glasses nearly 20 years ago, I chose Ortiz Eye Associates. This was a decision that has paid great dividends over time. They have proven to be highly professional, thorough, with market competitive pricing. All staff are well trained, knowledgeable and very helpful. The office provides a personal touch that chain optometrists seem to lack. If you need glasses in the Morris area, you cannot go wrong.

This is the only eye-doctor I've ever been to, so perhaps this review is biased. However, I have never had a bad experience here. With all my eye problems and awful vision, the doctors here have always made me feel comfortable and at ease. The technology at Ortiz Eye Associates is astounding. Their machines and gadgets don't miss a thing and the doctors are gentle and extremely knowledgeable. When it comes to eye exams, there is absolutely nothing to fear at Ortiz's. Cool glasses selection, too.
