Dr. Swayden grew up in Amarillo, TX and is the youngest of five siblings. He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where he received his undergraduate degree in biology. He later attended NOVA Southeastern University where he received his degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine. Prior to establishing Smile Workshop Family Dentistry & Orthodontics, Dr. Swayden completed hundreds of hours of courses in post-graduate dentistry.
Dr. Jepsen is a partner and dentist at Smile Workshop. He earned his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He later went on to receive a postgraduate degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Dr. Jepsen is the youngest of four children and from a family that values education.
Dr. Justin S. Ashton is a leader and dentist at Smile Workshop Family Dentistry and Orthodontics. He started his career with Smile Workshop in 2010. His drive for excellence ensures that his patients receive the very best dental care and customer service. Dr. Ashton attended Brigham Young University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in General Biology.

The female receptionist named Savannah was extremely rude & standoffish. I came here to get my wisdom teeth removed & she made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome with her attitude when I first spoke to her & afterwards when I payed. My mom called to ask if they were going to send medication for my pain & she was the one who answered. She pretended like she couldn't hear my mom & when my mom asked her "can you hear me now?" She proceeded to respond saying "No I can't hear you". So it was very apparent that she could in fact hear her she just didn

(Wolflin Ave in Amarillo) I would not recommend this place to anyone! My son has been in pain needing dental work so I drive 21/2 hours to go to this “great” dentist and the nurse we got was absolutely rude to my son shoving the X-ray piece in his mouth causing more pain the dr was fairly nice referred us to the specialist department to get work done go to the front desk and the insurance lady is just plain out rude and then the receptionist is even more rude they couldn’t get us scheduled out for another 2 months I told them my son couldn’t wait that long so she got me

I suffer from anxiety and very Claustrophobic, Liz the assistant is the sweetest, most caring person, with her by my side I was able to get my treatment done. Dr.Lay was very caring as well, did a great job! Thank you to both for making me feel comfortable, and understanding, not being hard or pushy as other dental offices I’ve been to in the past.

My son had an appointment this past Saturday, 4.10.21 and I have to say that this staff really does go above and beyond to make sure their patients and their family come in and leave happy. They're all so sweet from the moment you check-in! Mark, one of the dental assistants was especially friendly. He felt like a friend! Of course, being a baby, my son was terrified throughout the short time he saw the doctor, but the staff mentioned that they heard his cries and made him and I feel so much better with their sweet compliments and the toys and the little balloon that were given to him before

Originally, when I was introduced to this service provider they had Dr. Abraham who handled the patients dental hygiene. She was absolutely phenomenal with the quality of care she provided. Since her departure I continued to use them as a service provider and soon grew to have a tremendous regret.
They had at least 2 new Doctors come in and one who did a simple filling incorrectly that another doctor ended up repairing. Prior to that however I followed through with their orthodontic care on-site. During my care they ended up changing their Orthodontist during my treatment. The original orthodontist

First time visiting this Dentist establishment and EVERYONE was very professional and super friendly. Usually dentist appointments can take a long time and sometimes the experience is not the best but at Smile Workshop I had a truly great experience from the cleaning to talking to the doctor it was a TWO thumbs up :)

The billing is terrible I am being charged every month for my sons braces $189.00 for 12 months they have yet to bill my insurance which who will pay 50% therefore my monthly should drop. I have been getting 5the run around for claims and answers since July when he first received them. Be careful and pay attention to the billing and make sure they explain the process in advance. I feel I am over paying so what is about to happen if no one contacts me I will stop all payments until insurance is billed. No claim has been submitted to my insurance for the money taken out of my account for payment

Do NOT go to this dentist it's a scam! I went and they took X-rays and measured my pockets and said I needed deep cleaning which would cost me $$$ over insurance for a visit every 3 months. I looked it up online and saw that a regular cleaning can fix pockets at a 4 level. I discussed this with them and they made up some story about how that's what their dentist recommends so I need to move forward with the treatment. I showed up for treatment and they numbed my entire mouth (more $$$) and gave me a regular cleaning (I've had a deep cleaning before and they didn't use deep cleaning

The receptionist and dental assistants are very nice. This was her second appointment and it's really just the dentist that is very rude. I had questions for him and my concerns were simply answered by children always do that he was impatient with my questions and acted as if he had somewhere else to be. the dentist simply smirked and walked off they asked me if I wanted to reschedule my appointment but I will never go back there again because of how unprofessional the dentist was.

The dental techs/hygienists are nice, but the dentist is a little... not great. I was left waiting for over 45 minutes each time I went (I only went more than once because my tooth broke and I needed a build up and crown). The office is nice enough, lots of entertainment for kids.
My primary reason for the 1 star is their billing process. I have basic dental coverage under my medical insurance as well as supplemental dental insurance. The exam and cleaning they performed were very elaborate and were not covered by my plan. If a cleaning is going to cost nearly $100, this should be discussed

3 bad experiences in a row
1. Waited 45min after my appointment time (last winter) in their VERY cold waiting room. I rescheduled.
2. Waited 2hr just to be xrayed, taken to a room, then told that the wrong dental supplies were ordered. They rescheduled me.
3. Arrived on a Saturday morning at 830 and then told that the computers were 'down', no info on me, they rescheduled me. Correction, lost my business.
Come to your own conclusions.
