To help promote public health, we have closed our physical office location to in-person appointments and are offering virtual/telehealth appoinements in the interim. If you wish to engage in telehealth appointments, you are required to return a signed TELEMEDICINE/TELEHEALTH INFORMED CONSENT form. You can download it from the "patient forms" tab on this website.
Please contact your insurance to get the most update information on if your plan covers telehealth. Most insurances are covering telehealth for now as if they were regular office visits. When people visit our site for the first time, it's usually in hopes of finding help with their own or a loved one's distress.

Services
We are an intentionally small practice with over 50 years of combined experience in mental health. We pride ourselves on our compassionate and evidence-based approaches to treatment that put our patients' strengths and needs first. Dr. Dorfman is an honors graduate of Tufts Medical School and was the chief psychiatric resident at the UNC Medical School where she has a faculty appointment.
To make the process as smooth and efficient as possible, we provide the most important documents as downloads right here on our website. If you wish to authorize release of your medical information then please fill out and sign. At each appointment with Dr. Dorfman you are asked to fill out a check-in sheet to describe current symptoms and concerns.

I emailed and called this business with the intention of booking an appointment with Ori Chandler. Upon finally speaking to someone, I was told that if I was amenable to Telehealth appointments, I could be taken on as a new patient. I agreed to this, but heard nothing back in response. I called and emailed this practice for three weeks without a response. Only upon being nudged by a family member of mine did they answer me at all, and they immediately wanted to set up an appointment while skipping all other intake steps. When I replied to ask about the price of the appointment, as that was conveniently

I was a patient for 12+ years. My provider retired and made me an appointment with her replacement who refused to honor it citing her caseload was too full to accommodate me. Basically, l was blown off despite needing medications to control my issues. I see new patients are still being accepted despite no-one being able to pick me up as a patient. I will not be seeking psychiatric help again. Their callous attitude at the end has left me feeling betrayed at the least. I am tapering off their medications. l have happily recommended this business before to friends but not now

I have seen Dr Dorfman for nearly two decades. I actually followed her from another practice when she started her own practice. She is a warm, compassionate physician who really listens and asks questions. I find working with her to be collaborative. She looks at my needs from physical, emotional and situational perspectives as we work to find the best balance regarding medication management and the regular counseling I receive. I know that it will be really difficult to find another practitioner whom I will trust as much I trust her, whenever she decides to retire.
