Opioids are a type of medicine used to relieve from pain. Opioids reduces the number of pain signals to the brain so that the patient feel less pain than they actually have. Doctors prescribe this medicine in some specific situations such as dental procedures, injuries, surgeries etc. Opioid use is safe when we use it by strictly following the prescription given by the doctor.

Managing an account and payments with these guys is like stepping back into the 70s. They send me an invoice that doesn't show a payment I made, and my only option is to call them (online is pay only). I do, and they say "oh yes, I see it here." On their computer. Not on the invoice I was sent. And more than once they have delayed refilling a prescription until I paid the outstanding balance (never more than $100).
There is no way to contact the provider directly - no phone number, no voice messages, no email. Everything must be relayed through the front desk. If I had not moved out of state I

This is one of the most unprofessional places I've ever been at in my life. I just register myself 2 weeks ago,my first appointment my psychiatrist was more interested in explaining her accomplishments then actually listening to my problems. They just want to get you in and get you out, give you this medicine and if that doesn't work oh well try another one. I wanted help and she wouldn't listen to me I felt like we were arguing instead of working together as a team to figure out what's wrong she is terrible at her job and should really think about finding another career.

Really bad experience with the front office. I found them because they were identified as a company that would accept my insurance. I called to see if they were accepting new patients and received confirmation that they were. I explained why I was looking for care, and they confirmed that those were part of the services they provided. They then had me send in scans of my insurance and drivers license, and then followed it up with lots of paperwork. A day after submitting everything, I got a generic email saying that they would not be taking me on as a patient.

It started off great, but quickly turned horrible. Providers will ignore your requests, office staff ignores emails. I requested my medical records and they are wrong, and they are ignoring my inquiries about fixing them. They are horrible at doing anything in a timely manner. Staff is rude and belittling. I would be able to get over the rude staff that ignores its clients, if my medical records were accurate. HOW DO YOU MAKE A PSYCH PATIENTS RECORDS INCORRECT AND NOT FIX THEM? they are possibly the most important records for a new provider to receive, and having incorrect information is detrimental

Very expensive, 15 min quick inefficient visits. Inaccurate diagnosis and care.
I saw Dr Uphadya for a few years while in college. At the time and to this day I was suffering from high functioning anxiety. When I finally figured out (on my own) that this was what was causing me so much mental stress - I told her and asked for specific medications that I wanted to try. She refused and was persistent in prescribing me anti depressants instead. I tried them for about 2-3 weeks and developed suicidal thoughts and would sit still in one spot for hours staring at a wall. I had never taken or needed

Worth noting that these are psychiatrists, not psychologists. If you need ongoing talk therapy, go to a psychologist....if you need medication for the rest of your life, go to a psychiatrist.
Initially my experiences were mostly positive, although they can come off cold if you are looking for someone to talk to at length. In my experience, psychiatrist visits are often < 15 mins in duration and involve filling out a form, weight, blood pressure, and review of any labs, after which agreement for next visit, prescription renewal, and any future labs are given and you are outta there. For medication

I don’t understand how there can be so many negative reviews for this place. I have seen Dr. Upadhya for medication and Linda Bell for therapy for years, and it did a 180° of my life.
The receptionist staff is super friendly and accommodating. I am remembered by name, and it always feels very personable and welcoming when I come in.
Linda Bell has been wonderful for me. She has helped me work through a bunch of issues regarding depression, anxiety, anger, and other personal qualities to help me day by day. She is a great listener, has visual displays to help in understanding things she is

My therapist recommended this place because I was in search for a new psychiatrist and needed meds. I wanted to be tested for ADHD so I could receive some meds to focus. After my testing, we had an assessment, where the psychologist Martha Wright laughed in my face after telling her I was molested by my cousins and their father separate times. This lady said, “They were sharing you huh?!” 😡 After my testing was complete, I was given an appt to a psychiatrist there, Dr. Nwankudu, to receive meds for my diagnosis. Our zoom started off fine then went left when she started asking the same questions

I called this place to get some information and availability on appts. The receptionist was extremely unprofessional and rude with me. She raised her voice and her tone was disgusting because I wasn't understanding what she was explaining with the availability of different types of medical providers they have there. I never had an issue with anyone else, she was not a good communicator. She also said for me to call my insurance provider on the cost because she doesn't have the info. I will not be working with these people. Period.

The positives: Kim, the receptionist, is delightful. Martha is also wonderful. It’s genuinely a pleasure to interact with either of them.
The negatives: As others have noted, there is very little compassion at this practice from the providers. I don’t get the feeling they care about their patients on a human level. My appointments are rushed, with me spending about as much time in the waiting room as I do talking with my doctor. I believe the appointments are scheduled back-to-back with no buffer period. If you are late to your appointment even by a few minutes, you won’t be seen that day

I would not recommend Dr Rohima Miah or Alpha Psychiatric Associates.
I have been a patient for almost 10 years and was late for the 1st time and was told I would not be seen and was no longer a patient. It's a coincidence that a place you go to for help is the same place that shows they don't care about their patients.

I came in extremely depressed and explained part of it was financial worries. They eagerly handed me drug samples. I left, started them, and when I went to fill a prescription discovered there was no generic. It was $450 AFTER insurance and coupons. They were unconcerned, and never gave me an answer about why they knowingly used a non generic after I specifically told them my financial situation. I managed to buy it, because tapering off still should have required a purchase.

Worst practice ever! They charge your copay and then your insurance for 15 minute appointments! That's all the time you get at every visit!!! What a scam! To make matters worse the "office manager" there is the rudest person I have ever spoken to in my life. If you need help with your personal business by way of someone to talk to, go someplace else because this place is a joke!

I'd met with Dr. Miah twice, which was enough time to realize that she needed more help than I. Our first appointment started normally by her asking me questions until she asked me if I had a firearm. I wondered why she asked such an irrelevant question, so I gave her no answer. She then stated that she was putting yes. I couldn't believe that she put words in my mouth or interpret it her way. She knew nothing about me and she hadn't read my history report until later. I explained in detail why I considered her action inappropriate, unprofessional, and insulting. She then changed

I will be finding a new practice as Dr Miah was not a good fit for me. She was very dismissive regarding anything I brought up. Once I inquired about seeing a different doctor within the office she basically stood up and ended the appt after telling me that will not happen. She had no concern regarding why I no longer want to see her. She is condescending and snarky. I understand that sometimes this is okay to an extent but the manner in which she is- there is no way to over look this you realize that she just doesn't care. I am thankful I do not have any mental health issues as I feel continuing

I really can't speak to any of the other reviews, but I find them very surprising. I've worked primarily with Dr. Miah and found her to be extremely professional and approachable - the office staff has also been great. They schedule me really fast. I'm used to seeing psychiatrists that I would sometimes need to book months in advance, I assume because they are understaffed. I know Dr. Miah serves two locations at least a half hour apart in Cary and Durham, so either from home or work it is really convenient for me to get here. I also find the staff here to be unconcerned with me

Oh my god!!! Lindsay's review hit the nail on the head. Never have I seen such a condescending unprofessional psychiatrist in my life. What a waste of time and bad experience I had. I'm not surprised that she's committed HIPAA violations. We are the patients, we pay her money for support, and for some reason she thinks it's the other way around. She needs to have her medical license revoked.

I had an appointment with Dr Miah on 3/6/2018. She committed a HIPAA violation along with saying some of the most condescending and uncouth statements I've ever heard from a psychiatrist.
With multiple google reviews stating the same problems with Dr. Miah, I decided to report her to the NC state medical board along with reporting her to the Dept of health and human services for the HIPAA violation.
This woman should not be a psychiatrist. She wouldn't stop telling me about how she was only concerned with her license, instead of being concerned with the well being of her patients. A

Rude and confrontational Office Manager and Billing Assistant. Avoid!!
I was double billed for a visit. When I called the Billing Assistant for help, I received attitude with no resolution.
Before that I had a similar experience with the Office Manager, who interrupted me so much I could hardly complete a sentence. And, I got the same bad attitude thrown my way.

My experiences with Alpha Psychiatric Associates have always been pleasant and efficient.
The office staff is nice and prompt with returning most calls and scheduling appointments. I particularly like that I can schedule appointments online and confirm them by text message. The general office location and decor is comforting and relaxing, without feeling clinical.
I've been seeing Dr. Miah for over seven years now and followed her to this practice. I highly recommend her. She and her office staff have helped me in numerous occasions, be it wrangling appointment dates or trying to communicate
