The Postpartum Depression Workbook starts shipping on Tuesday! The process of writing a book becomes very solitary, with many late nights and early mornings working alone. Having spent the pandemic pouring my years of experience into a book, I can't tell you how exciting it is to imagine it in people's hands, let alone actually making a positive impact on their lives.
One of the more enjoyable topics of 2020 has been "silver linings." In what unexpected ways are you benefitting from the life changes and disruptions of social distancing? Not a rhetorical question. Drop it in the comments. Personally, I am grateful for being able to work from home.
I can hug my family between sessions, "cowork" with my first- and third-graders while I'm doing admin work, avoid traffic, and start dinner in the Instant Pot on my lunch break. As we head into the holiday season, I encourage all of you to take full advantage of the 2020 excuse to "do less." The holidays are often a time of pressure to live up to traditions, visit and please extended family, and make it the "best year yet" for our kids.

The Prevent Postpartum Depression e-course was so helpful to me as a mom at the end of her 3rd pregnancy. Having had some previous birth trauma it was so helpful to take the time to walk through my birth stories & really reflect on how Birth has gone for me. Abby reminds us in the course that this course is not in lieu of therapy, but it was a great place to start! I love how go at your own pace it is! I encourage all new & seasoned moms alike to take this course as an investment in your own mental health. I’m glad I did it.

Abby was my clinical supervisor at City College Mental Health Counseling Center, and she is awesome! She gets what is tripping up your therapeutic process and she knows how to help you get it. I would take little tid bits she gave me back into session and discover that that woman is spot on with her advise. Sessions would open right up when I followed her suggestions. I never did figure out how she could hit the mark so precisely after hearing me discuss a client for 5 minutes. But she did! Over and over again. Very efficient! We would churn through a lot of cases in our hour, and I got everything

I got to know Abby while I was pregnant. I read her posts where she described her experience of birth of her two kids, but instead of freaking me out as all the other posts I was finding online about giving birth did, I actually felt more calm. Her way of approaching it with knowledge, patience and no drama really spoke to me.
It was only much later when I've found out she is a therapist who specializes in maternal health. I've read a lot of her articles on this issue and I could often relate to the challenges of the post-partum stage she talked about.
Luckily, every time she addressed a problem
