I hate to leave a bad review of a small community business. I am gonna report on the facts here. We ordered two breakfasts. Both hand a mix of potatoes that were either mostly raw or soggy. My eggs had an eggshell in them. The ham tasted funny to me. The corned beef has was good. The sausage was good. The toast was good. I won't be back. I hope my order was a one off and I wish them well.

A quaint bagel place that knows what a good bagel is. It's a chewy egg bagel sandwich in the picture. No bad points. Maybe can work on quantity and making a more unique menu that makes them stand out more.

Outstanding casual diner serving terrific traditional breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Winthrop is lucky to have as many diner options as we do, since they seem to be disappearing from other towns. Don't miss out on the poached eggs, they come out perfect every time, never overcooked. Service was friendly, and it's obviously a favorite among the locals since everyone seemed to know each other.

Pretty disappointed since I came here and spent $20 on food based off good reviews. Anyway, we got the Eggs Benedict and a cheese burger. They're home fries are amazing, and they give a generous amount of sauce. But there is milk in their hollandaise! Their sauce was on the thicker side so I should have known, but it tasted like nothing. Hollandaise needs some lemon juice and at least pepper for flavor. Only one of my eggs were cooked enough to eat..But that's a common mistake when you're cooking poached eggs in a mold. Luckily I ordered sauce on the side so I could look before it

Being a native New Yorker, I take my breakfast pretty seriously. Gone are the days of good diner food back home. Since 2017 I’ve traveled between NY and Boston consistently. This is my go to place for breakfast. NEVER and I mean NEVER have I had a bad experience with my food.

I love their steak and cheese, home fries, sautéed vegetables and egg sandwiches. Everything is well seasoned and made to order. The coffee is smooth and not bitter. Love this place

Fun, little place. Nothing classy but really good food. Waitresses are always very friendly and helpful. It definitely has a small town cafe feel to it where Everytime I'm there someone comes in who the waitresses know by name and know what they want before the person every even sits down. Looking for a 5 star Michelin place, this definitely isn't for you. Looking for a nice place, where you can be treated well and have good food, then this is the place.

I’ve never had a bad meal here. I love their omelettes, eggs Benedict, home fries, oatmeal, iced tea, and especially their pancakes. I can’t enjoy pancakes anywhere else afterwards having them here. The service is always excellent and I love the homey vibe with their “wall of heroes” (a dedication to local veterans). I find the prices very affordable for breakfast in the Boston area. If you’re in the neighborhood, you don’t want to miss out on grabbing a meal here.

My boyfriend and I had a terrible breakfast. Spent 23 dollars on 2 pancakes that were most definitely frozen they were dry folded back from the middle then fell apart would not cut making it impossible to pick up with a Fork. His eggs were cold the home fries were like biting into saw dust balls.. tasted like onion horrible! My bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. The bagel was burnt.. I was expecting to find bacon slices but it was chopped up in the egg making it chewy and unappealing. It was like our breakfast was premade and sat there till we actually ordered. Toast was soggy drenched in butter

Cute little cafe with great breakfast options and very friendly staff. It's very nice they honor military vets and it's nice to see them get together in the morning which seems like they been going to this place their whole life. The eggs Benedict and omelettes are really good along with the home fries. Great place if you want breakfast or lunch.

No surprises here, just basic American food with ample size and very reasonable prices. It's a local favorite and the waitresses seemed to know most patrons, including what they plan to order and like to sit.

My wife comes from Winthrop and we were in town early so I looked for a place to have breakfast. I saw the veterans honor wall and good reviews on several sites so decided to stop in. Breakfast was good, I especially liked the home fries and coffee refills. We arrived just in time as the place filled up quickly. If I'm in town early again then a return visit is likely.

This is a must go to anyone trying to get breakfast or brunch while in Winthrop. Great food at a cheap price. For under $10 you can get a delicious meal that will put you in a food coma. The staff is really friendly and the atmosphere is quite lovely. I truly enjoy coming here, it feels like going to someone's house to have breakfast.

My go to:

A hidden cafe transporting you to simpler and happier times. Picnic style table clothes with pictures and profiles of servicemen and women. The clientele filling those seats are neighborhood buddies who reminisce of their childhood games and stories. You feel like you walked in to a place that stopped in time, and you are allowed to witness this and take part just for this short time. The food has a home made flavor that upon walking in here you just knew you were going to get, and it does not disappoint. The coffee refills are key to the local diner vibe. We enjoyed it and def. recommend.

Would give more than 5 stars if able! Flew to Boston on our way to Ct for a convention and found this place on yelp. We all enjoyed our delicious brunch, staff and owner were super warm and nice. Daughter left her 2 days old retainers on the table wrapped in napkins. We called few hours later and they found them and kept it for us for few days. They close at 2pm and agreed to leave the retainers outside for us to pick up on our way back to the airport. They went above and beyond with their customer service and will come back anytime we're in Boston for a great brunch.

We went into the Winthrop Center Cafe this morning for the first time. It certainly won't be our last. We walked in and the place was full. Now we know why. THIS is where the locals eat.

The food was fantastic, and the service was great. These ladies work their tails off.

We'll be back!

Totally acceptable diner breakfasts in big portions. The Denver omelette is big and full of flavorful bits.

If you want smaller portions, the bagel sandwich comes a la carte and tastes good--the bagel is great.

A friendly staff, great breakfast, cute location!

I ordered a staple- eggs with toast and potatoes. It was delicious, and the right amount of food.

If I'm ever back in the area, I'll try some pancakes!

I was in the area collecting signatures and asked a firefighter the best place to get breakfast. He referred me to the Center Cafe.
I had a the steak and eggs with vegetables. It was delicious. I really enjoyed the selection of vegetables and their freshness. The food was so good I made a second visit on Patriots Day.
Well the school vacation week left the place short of staff. But the gentleman did his best to hustle and I had another great meal. It was a bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin. Oh and a side of vegetables. They were great again.
It truly a great sign when even short

Quaint little cafe/diner in the heart of Winthrop. Made a stop here for breakfast on Saturday last month and ordered their Irish Pride Special, which is a take on eggs benedict in honor of St. Patrick's Day. The eggs were poached perfectly, with the yolk oozing out over the sauce and corned beef hash nicely, and it helped cut the saltiness of the hash. Very tasty dish, and the side of vegetables served with the eggs were good to help cut the richness of the eggs over the hash.

Service was friendly and very attentive. Nice place for a bite.
