Family Care brings three great choices for primary care providers to the Durham, Raleigh, Cary, Chapel Hill, and Research Triangle Park (RTP) areas. Elaina Lee, MD, Sarada Schossow, PA-C, and Frankee Rodriguez, NP are currently accepting new patients. Family Care, PA has been providing primary care medical services to the Durham, NC community since 1992.
A Wyoming native, Dr. Sabrina Mentock graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1981, attended medical school at the University of Colorado, Denver Colorado in 1988, and completed her residency training at UNC at Chapel Hill in Family Medicine. In 1992, she started Family Care, PA. She loves her practice of medicine and greatly enjoys the time she can spend with her patients.
She received her bachelor's degree from Earlham College in 1987 and graduated from Wright State University School of Medicine in 1991. Dr. Lee completed Family Practice residency at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio in 1994 and has been practicing in the Triangle area since then. As President of Nursing Mothers of Raleigh, she has a special interest in providing breastfeeding advice and support, which she incorporates into her practice.
Frankee Rodriguez, WHNP-BC & AGPCNP-BC, is a Los Angeles native who received her B.A. in Biological Anthropology from Boston University and her MSN, with specialization in women's health and adult primary care, from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in Boston, Massachusetts.

I began seeing Sarada Schossow during my sophomore year of undergrad at UNC, and remained with Family Care until moving away for law school. Sarada is an outstanding care provider with a very warm and inviting presence. I always felt very comfortable talking with her about anything, and she consistently worked with me throughout the years to ensure I was getting the best care possible. Very grateful for the level of care I received while with Family Care.

I've never been the type to leave a review for anything. No doctors office, no restaurant, or any establishment. but this place is terrible. I showed up for my appointment and they wouldn't see me today because I didn't fill out my forms. "Fill out FORMS". Ive never been to a doctor's appointment where you can't just fill out forms when you get there. What's worse is they called me to confirm my appointment yesterday. If it's such a big deal they could have reminded me yesterday to fill out my forms. I took over work and drove 20 mins out to the office for nothing.

The staff is very nice and welcoming. I feel very comfortable going there however getting test results back takes forever. Also, there phone line is crazy, there have been times when I have tried calling all day only to go straight to voicemail and not receive a call back or if I do it’s not until I’m at work and if I try to call right back it’s straight to voicemail again. Also their phlebotomist is not great. If they ever improve on the administrative side of things and providing prompt test results then I’d recommend them but unfortunately I’d say to try somewhere else first.

Edit: after this review, I received a letter informing me that they don't want me as a patient and "releasing me from their care". They wouldn't have made much money off me anyway. Beware of retaliation for bad reviews.

Do NOT use this organization. I am a young professional that had great insurance through my workplace. I visited this practice on October 2nd of 2019 and they contacted me on November 16th 2020 telling me my insurance did not cover my visit... Does this make sense? I never received a denial letter through my insurance and they never reached out to me in 13 months stating that there was any issue with my insurance. I have gone to other doctors in the area and never had a problem. Now they want me to pay them $400.00?! STAY AWAY. Extremely unprofessional. There are better doctors in the area who

This place cares more about making money and billing insurance than they do about patient well-being. I became a patient for a couple concerns such as sleeping issues and after prescribing me, a couple months later they tell me that I am required to come back in for med checks every few months in order to keep my prescription. I have never had this experience with any other doctor. Also they will not do physicals in same appointment as med checks so I am required to do multiple appointments. I don't have the time to constantly be going to the doctor and it's extremely frustrating that they will

They sounded shady when I went in for an annual check up, which is covered by my insurance. Instead, they charged like $150 out of pocket so I fill out some paperwork as a new patient. I took all my prior lab results from previous provider. Then they called me to bring them again since they failed to scan them properly. They wasted my time and money on something covered by my insurance and I obviously didn't go back because I couldn't trust them. Oh and when I asked about the prices listed on their site, they replied with" The prices listed on the website are for established, uninsured patients

I think Sarada is a super knowledgeable PA, but the office management puts $ before patient's well being, which is not what you want in a primary care provider. I advise you to look elsewhere unless you have the time and money to go in for an appointment every time you need a refill (they require med checks every 3 months). Not only do I not have time for this as a working professional, but I also feel like me and my insurance are being exploited by this gray area policy. Previous doctors had no problem giving me a year supply of refills on simple medications that I've been taking for years. These

This place is amazing. Best Doctor's office visit I have been to and I'm 40 years old. Never wait long. The Admin staff is very professional and quick. They also pointed out helpful items that are important for insurance. they did a free hearing test and were interested in my care. So happy to finally find a professional doctor in a comfortable warm atmosphere. My husband goes there too.

This is a fantastic practice. The office is modern and clean - the office setting is purposely designed to look like a large comfortable country house. I have rarely spent more than 10 minutes in the waiting room. Yet, Dr Lee and Dr. Mentock spend time with their patients and are very thorough. Their personalized medical care is exceptional. I have never had any problems with blood draws and have gotten appointments very quickly. When blood test results come back, they explain everything thoroughly.
