Belmont Bike Shop is located in the Carlmont Village Shopping Center which is nestled in the hills of Belmont. We are a community oriented, full-service bicycle retailer that was established in 2019. Our shop can help you with all your cycling needs, from custom mountain bike builds, top-of-the-line e-bikes, and road bikes, to getting your kids on their first bike.
This 6.8 mile loop around Water Dog Lake is one of our favorite rides and covers most of the trails in the park. The trail is often narrow and traverses steep sided chaparral. There are a few steep loose, rutted sections and wooden bridges that may slow you down, but they can be easily avoided. The loop takes an hour or more depending on your ability and pace.
Blackthorn SLX is our 29er all-mountain bike that's perfect when you're not sure what trail has in store, but you know it's going to be steep, gnarly, loose, or all of the above. Progressive geometry comes to life in a 6061-T6 aluminum frame that's built to last. The 140mm rear shock and 160mm fork make for a smooth, balanced, controlled ride when the trail is anything but.
There are plenty of great bikes that offer flexibility, a relaxed, neutral position and mellow handling. Orca is not one of them - Orca is designed for the rider who has already ridden 6000kms in February and can somehow sustain 500 watts in the middle of winter. The guy whose legs look like they are chiseled directly from the local mountains, the guy you have NEVER beaten, and is always ready to make the pace.

We came from out of town needing a tubeless flat fixed with the hopes of riding for our very short trip in town. Everyone in the store was extremely friendly and got us in and out in less than 30 min. with giving them no advanced notice. Awesome work, new rim tape, resealed, and worked out a rim ding all for super affordable price.

Belmont Bikes is my favorite bike shop in the Bay Area. They have the best prices, best service and lots of smiling, happy, knowledgeable employees. John the mechanic is a savant at wrench science and dials in my Santa Cruz every time. From a full build to something small, they do it all. I wouldn't take my bike anywhere else.
Nick has given me a loaner bike due to the scarcity of parts these days to keep me on the trails. Zero downtime.

They were the only shop within 50 miles that had the bike I was looking to get. With that being said I got off work immediately at 5 because I knew they closed at 6.
The gentleman was knowledgeable but I sinced he was impatient and ready to end his work day. Totally understandable but I was getting ready to drop 3K on a bike and I felt rushed to make purchase and didn't feel comfortable at all. Not the kind of feeling you want when making a big purchase.
I did leave the shop with a bike but now I feel like I'm regretting it and didn't get to ask all the questions I wanted.

They were able to do a super quick estimate. They fit me in according to my work schedule and even did a quick tune up so I would be able to get by on my bike until the appointment day.

Awesome bike shop. They all had masks on the whole time! I needed a tire and was given an great deal including labor. I had just rode from half moon bay and had some brake issues along with my flat. It was a difficult job due to my brakes being poorly manufactured. They put in the work with out giving up on me like other shops had in the past. They fixed my brakes, changed my pads, and my flat. All that for as I sad previously a killer price. I will be returning for sure from where I live in Castro valley. Its worth the drive to have a solid, and reliable shop(that wears masks too).

This is a great shop that caters for entry level to very experienced riders. You feel comfortable not matter what level you are. Nick is very knowledgable and patient with customers. He looks out for his customers to make sure you get a bike that suits your needs for the price. I recently purchased a gravel bike form Nick and he found the perfect bike for me considering I am a mountain biker and didn’t want to overspend. I have no hesitation to return to Nick for the tough maintenance jobs and to purchase my next bike.

Great staff! Nick and Greg were very knowledgeable and professional. As I entered the shop I noticed all the employees and patrons wearing masks. They had new mask and hand sanitizer on the counter for everyone entering the store! I was shopping for an E-mountain bike and had plenty of questions I needed answered. I felt the need to get on here and defend Belmont Bikes against all these bullies (yes BULLIES) who have never even set a foot inside the store. Belmont Bikes will forever have my business. The owner is a hard working individual who not only cares about his store and customers but served his country. Because of the current pandemic, we are in the invitory has been short and he was the only one who was able to get us a bike. Not only did he go above and beyond but he treated us with respect and courtesy. Never while I was there did I feel unsafe or uncomfortable.

So due to this COVID situation, I wanted to call and get some answers before going to their store. But the customer service is wack something i believe this store is not aware of. The signature line for any phone call query from customer's would be"come to the store with your bike". Its not like I havent been to their store. I did last time to check for crown race for the new fork but was navigated to woodside bike shop which is one of the best shop. Belmont Bikes is the nearest shop from where I live but as i mentioned these hard working NASA Scientists dont have time to answer

Wow, in a bad way. Two weeks ago I went to a friends ranch. He had two very fine-mountain bikes. I hadn't ridden a peddle assist bike yet and was amazed (and hooked). Banns and I had a month long road trip ahead for our 30th anniversary. We are hitting a handful of National Parks. . Figured we could cover twice or 3x the distance with the same time and effort.

Nick, the owner/manager and the lead mechanic, Johnny are great guys: very knowledgeable, and helpful.
I recently bought a Ripmo and received some help dialing it in. I bought a seat, pedals, and upgraded my brakes after consulting with the shop. They helped me decide which products would suit me and did a great job with installation!
Whether you need to get your bike repaired, upgraded, or purchase a new one, you should visit this shop. You'll leave satisfied and happy because you received honest and attentive service!

Allot of mountain bikes is what I could see when entering, 3 folks in the front and 2 visible in the back working on bike repairs or maintenance
The staff is helpful, prices are decent, stock wise I saw more mountain bikes, allot of hard tails, some with the fairly large bike tires, bigger then mountain bike tires
bought 9speed chain replacement and some lube for the bike, very informative group, super helpful and friendly
Big brown dog (Brown Labrador) that has a large pillow in the front of the store, just be aware he walks around if you have small kids (that are scared of big dogs), dog will

So excited to have a great new bike shop in my neighborhood. Went in last week because my shifting was off and the owner (Nick?) got my bike right up in the stand, diagnosed the problem and go me up and running. He also took plenty of time to explain a few quick and affordable fixes I could make to my set up to get better performance out of my bike. Can't speak highly enough of this first experience and wishing these guys great success.
