Campus Bike Shop
We are pleased to announce the opening of our second location in the Mirrielees parking lot on Escondido Road. Similar to the location in Tresidder Memorial Union, we provide common bike repairs and accessory sales at the same cost as at the Tresidder shop. Free air via air compressor and manual pump is available as usual.

Complex bike repairs will be done at the Tresidder shop which continues to offer bike sales and rentals. A pick up and drop off service between the two locations is available should transportation be required. This is a great way to learn to manage small monthly loan payments and start building your credit history.

Laughably bad service. Took my bike in to have the breaks adjusted. When I got the bike back the brakes straight up didn’t work - completely non-functional. They tried to blame it on me when I took it back, and instead of owning up to the fact that they messed up tried to insist it was somehow my fault. Do not recommend.

These guys are absolute crooks. They guaranteed that they would fix my disk brakes and charged me $85 to do it. The brakes still rub against my brake pads and when I brought it up to the mechanic he stormed off like a toddler and refused to acknowledge that there was a problem or give me my money back. Earlier one of the staff guaranteed me that this will be fixed otherwise they would give me my bike back and I could return it to the manufacturer. This by far was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a business.

I came in for new tires since one of mine wore out and the other had a bubble in it. Although they were extremely busy, maybe about 15 guests with only three workers, they were exquisitely skilled at multi-tasking and were able to quickly get my bike into the shop for service. Since I went in near the end of the day, they said that they'd have it ready for me the next day. Upon pickup, i was quickly serviced and my bike came out perfect! In addition to just fixing the tires, they also gave my bike a surprise make-over, wiping down a lot of the dust, lubricating the chain/gears, and also fixing

Went to the shop to get a bike rack, and Omar provided the necessary tools, better screws and pleasant conversation as I installed the rack.
Everything happened outside due to COVID, but the weather was perfect for that.
Will definitely be back if need spare parts/a tune up

This place is an institution! After over 85 years, they continue to provide impeccable service. Friendly and capable staff, reasonable labor rates, and a great selection of bikes. One of the few places in the Bay Area where you can rent a high-end road bike. Good deals on used bikes, if you want something affordable. Highly recommend. Ask for Omar, he's the best!

Update (April 2021): Since my initial review, I have had new derailleur cables and housings installed, my brakes aligned and adjusted, and a new rear tire installed here. Each visit has matched the level of service I experienced the first time I visited - five stars.
Original (February 2021): Blew out a back tire on my bike on my way to dinner. Went to the shop to use the free air hose in hopes of somehow reviving a tube that went from 45PSI to 0PSI in <10 seconds. The owner happened to be closing up shop and saw me struggling to inflate the obviously-punctured tube. He took the bike inside, installed

I rented a bike from here for a week to ride while visiting my sister. For a week it only cost $80 for a nice hybrid. I was very pleased with the quality of the bike. The guy that helped me select my bike was great. He was knowledgeable and cheerful. I will definitely rent one from here the next time I'm in town!

Went in for some repairs on my second-hand (third hand?) bike. The guy I spoke to was very friendly, took note of what I said, and quoted me a price that seemed reasonable, including a full-tune up. I left it with them overnight, but got a call the following day saying that they'd found extra problems that would significantly increase the cost. I was frustrated at the inaccurate quote the previous day that had missed the extras (although they said these things would not have been spotted until work had begun), though I could understand them undertaking the work. I was expecting some haggling when

Super friendly and helpful staff! I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Forget Walmart and their off the shelf bikes. The used lot offers hidden gems. Ask the knowledgeable staff and they'll tell you professionally what bike is best for you and your budget.
Got my road bike, and will come back for an upgrade.
Definitely will come back in the near future.

I wanted to change my crankset in order to get a lower gear ratio for hills. I went to four bike shops in the South Peninsula (not including this bike shop yet) and they ALL said I would need not only a new crankset but also a new front derailleur and shifter/lever. They could get the parts in two months then installation would be 3 weeks after that. I went home and discovered I could get the parts myself in less than two weeks on Amazon! After the parts arrived I called around and found that the Campus Bike Shop could install the parts sooner than anyone else. When I went to collect the assembled

This was a great bike rental place! They actually take time to fit you for the right bike and they have a great selection. The entire process of renting the bike is easy and pleasant. I can tell they are now getting really busy since bikes are high in demand.

The only reason why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 5 is because my humiliating experience while purchasing my bike rental - The person who rung me up was a bit rude and unprofessional

Prior to picking up my bike that day I had just traveled back into town, and I made a few purchases of bike supplies and a large purchase on my credit

Came here yesterday to get advice about my bike. While we stood in line, an older woman with a very loose fitting vented mask (which propel particles outward at everybody) came and spoke to us at very close range. While she talked her mask kept falling down off her face. Every once in a while she would stop and try to pull it up over her face again. Really lame. When we finally got to talk to someone he had his mask over his mouth and not his nose and proceeded to mansplain at us at loud volume and rapid speed. When I asked for clarification, he got mad. I get the feeling this guy may be on the

Reading the reviews for this place is mystifying to me. I've been at Stanford for about five years now and visited the Campus Bike Shop probably five or six times. Each time I've been there, the staff has been condescending and short with me, and whenever I have brought my bike in I've been greeted with a lot of smirks and derision. Maybe it's because I own a super cheap bike and do a lot of my own maintenance. Whatever the reason, it feels undeserved, as both times I have paid the shop to fix up my brakes they have done a horrible patch job that broke again in less than a week

Total rip off.

I had a flat on one of "tubeless" tires (which requires a tad bit of sealant fill), instead of an inner tube replacement. I had this problem once before and stopped by BIKE CONNECTION to get it done, the mechanic there charged me $8 for the job (it's a 2 minute job).

I went to the Campus Bike store the next time I got a flat and they charged me $20 !!! The mechanic was rude and the cashier was cavalier. Will definitely not be back here!

New, used and rentals of miraculous two wheeled human powered bicycles all available.

This is a great bike shop for a university. No frills. They get down into the dirt and get the job done.

For an on campus bike shop, they are great. Staff is quick and up front about costs. I really appreciated their energy. Very positive. It might help that a cafe s next door. A little java-shot injection can improve anyone's mood.

The staff also give great advice and are very accommodating when they aren't busy. They are usually very busy, but sometimes thee is a little window of non busyness

We test rode an electric bike -- such fun, we highly recommend!! Aaron at Campus Bike Shop was efficient & extremely knowledgeable. We asked him tips for properly locking up bike (don't forget to put a cable lock on your seat!!) and 50 other questions -- he was patient & thorough in his explanations. THANK YOU AARON!!

p.s. local e-bike commuter friend's tip: wear a highly-visible vest (or highly-visible rain cover in inclement weather) -- you're much safer if you can be seen!!

After relocating to the Bay Area without a car for three months, I was in need of a bike rental badly. I can't say enough good things about this place. Susan and Omar really went out of their way to get my bike ready for pick up, and all of the other staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgable. I now have a rental mountain bike (with free helmet and lock), as well as a few safety add-ons for cheap. The customer service was great, and bike is in good shape. Come here for your bike needs!

So I bought a Rad Rover electric bicycle, and had it shipped to my office. I then used a roller dolly to bring it .4 miles to the bike shop for assembly, but unfortunately they don't work on electric assist bikes.

The owner's wife, for free, drove me to Mike's Bikes who agreed to assemble it for me, waited, and drove me back.

Additionally they sell bike helmets at cost, so get yourself a damn bike helmet! :)

The bike selection is good -- albeit overpriced. I suppose that you pay for convenience. The shop is busy and the waiting time can be a little long -- but the service is usually good and the employees seem trustworthy.

However, you need to be very careful with your service. I've had two incidents that lowered my review from five stars to three:

1.) Recently, I brought in my bike (that I purchased there) because I had a flat. I was asked by one of the employees whether I wanted a regular tube or a heavy duty tube. I asked the employee what the difference was. He said that the only difference
