As the True Pilates Studio of Portland, we are dedicated to teaching and practicing the method in its purest form, as JOSEPH PILATES intended, on original apparatus that he designed himself. All of our instructors are certified through Romana's Pilates, the teacher training program created by Joseph Pilates' protege', Romana Kryzanowska.
Our philosophy is based on control, strength and stretching for all levels. Your safety is our most important priority. If you are scheduled for an in person lesson, please respond to the questionnaire found in your appointment reminder that you are emailed prior to your lesson. First off, we'd like to thank all of you for a wonderful year of scooping! 2019 has given us so much to be thankful for. We have added some new Pilates apparatus to the studio, welcomed a lovely addition to our teaching staff (Oui Marie! ) and have grown our community of fantastic people within Katona Pilates, which we are most grateful for.

The entire team at Katona Pilates is so incredibly focused on guiding each client through their Pilates journey. As a guy, Pilates has been amazing addition to my traditional weekly workouts. I started doing Katona Pilates at the beginning of the stay at home order and it has changed my whole life! I have struggled with my posture and nagging injuries from playing sports my whole life and into college. The online Zoom workouts are incredible and you get corrected so you know how to do every exercise with the correct form. If you do not know how to fix your posture and want to heal you body/keep it healthy, sign up for an online Zoom class!

The team at Katona Pilates is so incredibly knowledgeable about their art and the human body. These ladies helped me back from two c-sections and a frozen shoulder. I’ve never felt stronger or had a stronger core and I’m forever grateful! Well worth the time and money and proved more beneficial to me than the weekly PT I was going through. Highly recommend!!

I’ve been practicing Pilates with the team at Katona Pilates for a few years now and I wouldn’t trust my body with anyone else. I can’t say enough about how great Katona Pilates is. The teachers are all certified from Romania’s Pilates which is the most prestigious, authentic program there is. When I was searching for a Pilates studio I researched and learned Romana, who Joseph Pilates bequeathed his work to, and her program not only make the teachers audition, but pass several tests with over 800 hours of observation. It’s like taking a college course! Plus the teachers have to take continuing education workshops every year to keep their certification. I’m a research geek so I found this very enlightening as I

Tracey and Ivy are true masters. They instruct based on the true and pure Pilates laid out by Joseph Pilates. No gimmicks to dilute the true core strength and muscle elongation. Both Ivy and Tracey are thoughtful in their guidance, while helping you you to improve with each session. The atmosphere is fun, yet serious. They have made Pilates an amazing piece of my life.

Both Tracey and Ivy at Katona Pilates are the best. They are trained and certified in the only true form of Pilates ...Ramona Pilates. I have been a client for several years now, going twice a week. Katona Pilates has helped me immensely. My body awareness and form have improved greatly. My training with Tracey and Ivy has helped my long distance biking and race walking. My walking team came in first place at Cascades Relay and I felt fit and strong thanks to my Pilates lessons with them.

I like to run but often would get injured training for half marathons, especially my knees. I just finished a half marathon and my sessions made a massive difference in my training, performance and recovery.
