A hidden gem right next to 1st beach and a short 15-min walk to Downton Newport! My fiancé and I recently stayed at Rhea's for the weekend and had an enjoyable experience.

The location is within walking distance of multiple restaurants - Tickets, Flo's, Diego's etc. and right across the street from 1st beach. We walked from the hotel up to the cliff walk one morning and to dinner on Thames Street both nights. The location is convenient, and a parking spot included in your reservation is a plus during the busy summer months!

The room was clean, smelled great, and the large air

My last visit to Rhea's was not my first and won't be my last. It is so convenient to dining, the park, beach, and cliff walk. A great variety of continental breakfast food and snacks. And by far the cleanest place I've ever stayed.

This place was gorgeous, clean, cozy. I recommend that you get one of the two rooms on the top floor facing the ocean. From the room and the balcony we can see the ocean. It was wonderful. The suite has a pull-out bed if you want to be more than two in the room which is very convenient since Newport can be quite expensive sometime.
The continental breakfast had everything you would want. The fridge was full.
I will go there again.

Highly recommend this place the location is the best liquor store right across the street beach right across the street followed by the great restaurants.

What a gem of an inn! Clean rooms, easy walking distance or short UBER ride to everything! The host was extremely friendly, pleasant, and engaging....the daily availability of coffee, water, ice, breakfast foods, fruit, etc., was more than enough and available all day. We will definitely be staying here again!

WOW. This place is the hidden jewel of the Newport area. I've stayed in Newport numerous times throughout the years, at various hotel and inns, and I've never had a better overall experience than the one I had at Rheas Inn by the Sea. My boyfriend & I stayed at Rheas over Memorial Day Weekend (Sat-Mon). Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by the friendly & professional owner, and instructed to park and come in once we grabbed our luggage. The inn is 3 minutes walking distance from Easton's Beach, and the surrounding lots charge between $20-$30 just to park. One of the

We used the directions provided in our reservation confirmation email to bypass downtown Newport after arriving via the Newport Bridge. There is ample onsite free parking and the location is convenient to Easton's Beach, generally regarded as the best beach in Newport though, like Rhea's, it is in Middletown. The location also is convenient to several other not to be missed attractions including Sachuest NWR, Norman Bird Sanctuary, and the Cliff Walk. It also proved to be an easy drive along Memorial Blvd to downtown Newport. We reserved a 1st floor unit with a king bed and Tony, the

I just got back from a 4 night and 1 day stay at Rheas Inn. It was relaxing, peaceful and close to everything. Every morning and afternoon I would stop into Rhea's breakfast and lunch cafe. The Woman preparing and making the fresh breakfast, lunch wraps, and smoothies is friendly and efficient. Easton Beach is less than a 5 minute walk. At 10pm I would go down to the lobby and get some fresh fruit,Greek yogurt, granola bars and kuerig decaf coffee with vanilla creamer. This is weirdly important for me. Lol
Liquor store directly across the street that is open late, and a great little

My husband and I recently stayed here, sharing a suite with my mother who had checked in a few days earlier. From the moment we entered Rhea's and were greeted by Tony, we felt so welcome. The inn is small and intimate, and there are only a few rooms per floor, which is amazing for privacy! We never heard any noise from the other rooms. The pull out sofa-bed was comfortable, and already made when we arrived.

The views from our room were great, and it had a lovely balcony. The suite was so clean - I felt very comfortable walking around barefoot. The breakfast spread was superb - delicious

I can't believe anyone would find something negative to say about this place - stayed here the weekend before the 4th of July and they exceeded expectations in every way. The owner was extremely kind and courteous, room was clean - more than enough space for two people. No microwave or mini-fridge so just make sure you have your cooler packed. Proximity to the beach is second to none for the price. There are multiple bars and restaurants within stumbling distance which also adds to the charm (Atlantic Grille's breakfast is to die for). Rhea's was a wonderful experience and I&apos

$109 a night, mid-week in late May. Nice, simple rooms, very clean, king bed and coffee waiting in the lobby. No pools, etc but who cares? Free onsite parking. Not much of a view from the place but a couple hundred yard walk to the beach. There's a coffee shoppe next door and about a half dozen other places to eat within a 2 minute walk. Downtown looms about a 5 minute drive. Can't beat it for the price. Friendly staff as well that doesn't pester you.

Stayed here this past weekend and it was great. The room was big, comfortable and extremely clean. The service was fantastic and the gentleman gave us great dinner suggestions for our stay.

There was a full self serve breakfast with bagels, cereal, coffee and the rest of the standard breakfast foods. I went to the cliff walk which was about 3 minutes away and watched the sunrise. I highly recommend Rhea's Inn to anyone visiting the Newport area.

Love this place. Everything in the room/bathroom was new and spotless. Comfortable bed, nice continental breakfast, close to the beach, reasonably priced. We took a taxi into downtown Newport for around $10-which is about what you'd pay to park there. We would definitely come back here.

Completely exceeded my expectations.

Having never been to Middletown, RI, or anywhere in RI, I was a bit skeptical about pretty much anywhere that wasn't well over $200 a night. Rhea's Inn by the Sea was extremely reasonably priced (and offers a discount for AAA members). The room was really clean, and I'd agree with the Catherine G. that the beds were really comfortable and it DID smell really good (which is important!). They have an array of continental-ish breakfast stuff (bagels, danish, muffin, cereal, etc... oooh, and cookies!) which is just out whenever. We didn't eat

Very pleasant, quiet stay. Excellent price, and the bed was very very comfortable. The room smelled great, too! (This is a weirdly important factors for me!). They also had breakfast foods available in the lobby at all times, a major plus. MUCH preferred over the hotel chains nearby.
