Passages Ventura
Our revolutionary book will teach you what causes addiction, and how to heal it so you can remain substance free. Passages Ventura offers an abundance of one-on-one therapy, which is one of the most important components to treatment. Upon arrival, you will be assigned a team of doctors, therapists and counselors that will work with you throughout your stay.

Once you experience this level of one-on-one treatment, you will know you're in the right place. The grounds at Passages are beautiful, and the bedrooms are well appointed. The overall setting instills a sense of healing and calmness that is necessary for effective treatment to take place. The staff are compassionate and caring.
Services
At Passages Ventura, we concentrate on healing the underlying conditions causing you to use drugs and alcohol. We do this by utilizing a deeply individualized treatment program with addiction specialists experienced in treating the underlying causes of substance abuse-related issues. Our holistic one-on-one approach offers state-of-the-art services that will keep you engaged and inspired to heal.
Unlike other rehab centers, we don't believe that addiction is a disease. Our research shows that people become dependent on drugs and alcohol because of one of four causes. Our goal is to find out what's driving you to use drugs or alcohol, and once we locate the cause of your addiction, we will begin the work to heal it.
Passages Ventura was founded in 2009 by father and son, Chris and Pax Prentiss. They decided to open an affordable treatment facility after having much success with Passages Malibu, which they opened in 2001. For ten difficult years, Pax was addicted to heroin, cocaine, and alcohol. He tried different treatment centers but always relapsed.
By putting you in a lesser position than they are, making it seem as if you're wrong, they get to criticize you and tell you what to do. Some centers use that as an excuse to have you scrub toilets and do other menial work as if you need punishment for being an addict or alcoholic. What it does is keep their cleaning bill down and make you think you deserve the punishment.
I know your struggle; I know your heartache. I have seen the rending of families, the suffering, the tragic endings, and I have seen the wonder of transcendence over it all. This book is dedicated to you who seek freedom from addiction for yourself or a loved one. The book has been gifted to or purchased by more than a quarter of a million people.

ALL of the therapists at passages are amazing! Passages saved my life and helped me return to my true self. If you genuinely want your heart and spirit to return to you and you arrive with your mind wide open you will find peace and the inner strength to help you free yourself of your addiction and return to the person you were born to be.

OMG stay away. Got dropped two weeks into my stay told same day I must leave for sober living. Still nothing on my disability paperwork from dr Reyes. I have driven, called, emailed, wrote two letters and no response. If this is how you treat your clients after they leave I can only imagine the turn over rate. I mean addiction and navigating your aftercare plan is hard enough but to be given this time of run around. I give up with these people. Once they got your money it's over....

There's a reason people come back 9 or more times. Yeah...I said it 9 or more times. They only want the money from insurance. The gates are open and people get high on the regular and are allowed to stay.

If you’re looking for a job and came across Passages do yourself a favor and close the tab. Management and administration is an unreliable mess riddled with poor communication and even worse problem solving strategies. If you like being undervalued, overworked, and underpaid then this job is perfect for you. Resident support and nursing staff are constantly understaffed yet rarely supported by upper management. With no staff and a constant influx of clients it’s a recipe for disaster and disappointment. Maybe you should try Sears.

Very intense program yet treated like an adult, can have your cell phone , and labtop , to keep family and others informed about your recovery. The food and lodging are excellent the staff are very knowledgeable , the program works. If you are having problems with addiction and or mental issues this the place for recovery .

I recently checked myself into this rehab facility and I have also been to the sister facility "Passages Malibu."

I am not one to normally post reviews unless I truly believe that the service, professionalism, organization, and treatment calls for a review.

I can genuinely say, after unfortunately after going to several treatment centers, that the Passages programs are by far the most disorganized, unprofessional, and money focused facilities that I have ever been to. I personally will never check myself into this treatment center again or its sister facility. While the therapists

I can't say enough good things about Passages Ventura! Sharon and Damian were great administrators! They entire staff was wonderful! They saved my life, and I have a lot of tools to use when I'm tempted to drink or use!
If you know anybody that's suffering from drug or alcohol addiction, this is the place! No 12 step meetings. A lot of one on one therapy as well as groups! It's not "just kick it" place! They keep you Very busy 7 days a week!
Thank you Passages Ventura!!!

I may have been to a few treatment centers. This isn't Malibu version-- it's better! But, I'm also humble and don't appreciate elitism. The counselors are top notch-- Robert, Marissa, Chris, and Cherrie. This isn't the archaic 12 step model that relies on being labeled a forever powerless, from a book that hasn't been updated since around the 50s. This utilizes mindfulness, meditation, exercise, eating healthy, exercise, journaling, positive affirmations, mirror work, surrounding yourself with winners, and reading. I liked it. It helped my mindset. I met forever

Skeptical for sure because they requested money up front. I was like I'm not really comfortable with paying in full because the owner Chris Prentiss sold me Malibu not this weird spot deep off miles of strip malls that isn't even close to Ventura. No better than a drug dealer saying they have the best stuff. Be forewarned.

A really good non 12 step based rehab- someone I love went here and got alot out of Passages Ventura - Its really in Point Huemene which is fine. It's real, down to earth, safe and clean. Takes insurance - there is a co - pay - there were nurses checking on my loved one 3 times a day as he withdrew from heavy alcohol use . He was seen by a doctor and that continues weekly. He is now on naltrexone and other meds that they fell are helping. The therapist is top notch I was told - I did visit - so I saw it with my own eyes. This is important to have a place that is not based on 12 step ideology

Chaotic. Way to many patients for staff to handle. Staff call in sick often. To much contraband allowed to get in. More like a summer camp than a rehab facility.
They don't embrace AA or NA or the 12 step.

Passages puts on a good show but all it cares about is money- not their client's long-term sobriety. Passages concealed the existence of the drug Naltrexone from me. I discovered this drug on my own and have been sober since April 2017.

Highly recommend this facility. Wholistic approach that really dives into who you are and how to make yourself better. Staff is fantastic and therapists are even better. Food is great and the range of therapies was life changing. Only marked 4 star as massages/acupuncture was limited but still great. I would highly recommend this place. Can have your phone and laptop and not a 12 step center

I don't know where to start. The facility, the staff, the program. All are 5 stars in my eyes. I wanted to get sober and Passages made it easy. You have to do the work, but if you want it and will follow the program you will get it. AND IT WORKS! I have been sober for 3 and a half months and have no trouble staying this way thanks to the tools I learned at Passages.

They work as a team to make sure you are successful in your journey. The therapists and counselors seemed to either have a vested interest in your treatment or they simply care. I believe it is that they care.... I also found

I was there 12 days & never seen a therapist. They are under staffed, so never get the treatment they promise. They won't help you. It was the hardest call I made & they didn't do one thing for me. Don't waste your money

In the first instance, identifying that you have a substance abuse disorder takes an incredible amount of self-awareness and courage. This is perhaps only eclipsed by the bravery it takes to reach out for help. Finding the right support is an additional challenge, and nothing is done without overwhelming effort. Passages' Ventura was the light at the end of a dark tunnel; the reprieve and help I sought; their admissions process was easy, thank you. This quickly changed after an insult from their Director, M***. The out of pocket price Passages quoted was double that of Aetna. The additional

Generally a good place and a great place to get good treatment. The counselling staff and therapists are incredibly supportive, and I was pleased with the medical treatment I received for my alcohol issues.

The negative review is for the facility and the general staff. The place seems to be starting to fall apart and to become increasingly mismanaged. They promise bi-weekly runs for client needs for the basics: toothpaste, snack foods, etc. The runs were completely inconsistent, which is incredibly unfair for patients. The promised "evening snacks" often didn't come out because

Ok.... I don't ever post yelp reviews but I have to jump in on the comments.

I was in a hole. Work had become too much, family had taken a back seat and life just was not enjoyable anymore. I lost my mother 5+ years ago and since that my life continued in what I saw a downward spiral unable to see the joy. My dr stuck me on benzodiazepines and although I took the intended dose I was prescribed found myself dependent on these little satanic pills and searching for a way to get off and opiates are not the way.

My fiancé had enough with my sadness and my family took a back seat until I broke

I am not a fan of rehabs because I feel they are all about the $$$$$ and could care less about the welfare of the people they are suppose to serve.
I am sure my daughters insurance payed a lot of money for what was suppose to be a 30 day stay. Once they received 100% payment for the higher level care they were always trying to downgrade my daughter to lower level care where she would have to pay a daily out of pocket expense.
Believe me run run Forrest run .... this is not the place for you if you want to feel the human element. Don't you want to try and recover at a place where there is
