Goldstein's Bagel Bakery

I like this place, I'll say that first. The problem is the bagels aren't very good anymore. I've gone a bunch of times and the quality has gone done with each time, which is why I'm finally writing a review. I got a cranberry bagel with turkey and cream cheese, it was so tough it was hard to eat, and they didn't even fully cut it so when I tried pulling it a part a lot of the cheese came out. My boyfriend sesame bagel wasn't much better. And the cost just doesn't balance. I can get a bag of bagels from target, some cream cheese and turkey and make 3 bagel sandwiches

This place has the best bagels in the San Gabriel Valley. I like their "The Works bagel and their bagel dogs are delicious. You won't be disappointed

The staff is unhappy here. The bagels are terrible. The works bagel (everything bagel) was so salty I threw it away.

I do not like to negatively critique local mom & pop's, but I feel I have to.

I was excited to find this small, quaint bakery so close to my house; but now I'd rather prepare a bagel at home instead.

The quality is just very sub-par, to say the least. The bagels are something you'd expect out of a local donut shoppe; not a bakery supposedly featuring such food. They are always on the stale side; and never warm. Yes, even early in the morning.

The prices are ridiculous; the customer service is rude and lacking in upkeep of the place.

The final straw is the coffee; no iced

Service has declined significantly since the pandemic. I got a guy that moves on slow motion to make me a toasted bagel with cream cheese. Good news is that bagels still taste awesome

Visitation Rights: Been to the physical shop once, but had their bagels at other coffee shops that sold them.

Background On Visit: Was walking south on Santa Anita Blvd and decided to walk in when I saw a lot of cars going through the drive thru.

Ambiance/Decor: Relatively clean with modern furnishings. Ample of tables and seats for all to sit on.

Service: Service wasn't great when I patronized the shop. Nobody greeted me when I walked in and it took awhile for someone to come up to me to take my order. The staffer (Oscar) didn't look like he liked

Great bagels made the authentic way. Drive through, take out, eat-in or eat outside these are better bagels than from the big bagel chain stores. Other menu items not consistently good nor inexpensive but reason to go is the bagels. Next door to In-N-Out so by lunch time access can be difficult. Free parking lot in back.

I was craving bagels and decided to go to Goldstein's. I have driven past hundreds of times but found a rainy day to be the perfect opportunity to go.
We tried several different bagels and they were good. I was a little disappointed with the peanut butter chocolate chip bagel as it was not soft on the inside. All the other flavors were great! I'd like to go back and try one of the delicious looking bagel sandwiches on their menu.

Great food, bad customer service.
As a New Yorker I am always skeptical when getting bagels out of town. However, Goldstein’s surprised me with their quality bagels, with crunch on the outside and chew on the inside.
I opted for the breakfast platter and was served a massive portion of eggs, bacon and more hash browns than I knew what to do with - and a bagel of my choice. All for $7.99!
The person helping us had an attitude and the other workers didn’t seem to be helpful with any of our questions but all in all I would return.
Good coffee too, just like the street carts of NYC.

A little disappointed. Was my first time trying it and was really excited. I ordered the Lox Benedict Sandwich with onion, spinach, tomato, capers and salsa. The sandwich was missing capers and salsa. I also couldn't see/taste the hollandaise sauce at all. I was in a rush so couldn't go back.

I also got the cheese bagel, plain. Was good, you can't go wrong with it.

I really enjoy Goldstein's bagels. My favorite bagels they make are the jalapeño and cheese, egg, cranberry, plain, and onion bagel. Honestly, all their bagels are very good and made fresh on site daily. They have a great selection of cream cheese and other spreads as well.

If you have a sweet tooth, I recommend their Sweet Rounds, especially the chocolate chip. It's super fluffy, warm, covered with slightly melted chocolate on top. From their grill menu, their breakfast bagel sandwiches and burgers very delicious. Their onions rings are perfectly crispy with generous portions.

Have always looked forward to getting some of their speciality bagels. Went in at 0825 on a Monday morning and then there was one customer ahead of me with two employees behind the counter. The customer in front of me left but for some reason neither of the employees offered to help or say they would be with me in a minute - it was the as if I wasn't there. After five minutes I just left being very dissatisfied with what on this occasion was poor (nonexistent) customer service

This business would not even acknowledge that I walked in and was waiting for several minutes to be served. I mean not even a hello. I asked where I could place an order and the associate pointed to my location and said "there". Still not offering a greeting or to help. Finally I asked if I could place and I'm order and he said "what you want?" I spoke to the manager and he didn't get it at all. I left. I will not patronize a business that doesn't understand that customers are the reason they exist. Sad.

The bagels themselves are perfect.
The specialty offerings are atrocious.
A bagel I love, a New Yorker, was slapped together haphazardly, with no capers. NO CAPERS!
And the coffee was an abomination.

Never again. Likely, if only, for a bag of bagels.

This place can NEVER get an order right. I ordered a bagel with extra cream cheese, onions and capers. Clearly I hardly got ANY cream cheese at all. Didn't ask for tomato but it's full of tomato.. asked for capers and didn't get any capers.

We stopped by on a Sunday morning at 10:00ish. The drive thru line was about 6-8 cars but NOT mooching so we parked in the smallish lot and walked in. There were 4 people ahead of us in line. They live moved quickly but staff appeared to be going through the motions in no big rush.

Just stopped in to get an everything bagel with Tuna and Cheddar. The tuna is at least a day old and bad. Throwing out my sandwich. My suggestion would be to make a fresh batch, verses using up old tuna.
Very Disappointed.

Got a classic rye breakfast bagel with peanut butter and jelly, over ez egg bacon and possibly cheese. Also got a lox cream cheese tomato and onion, this is the must have. If it's your 1st time stay with the classic and favorite lox and cream cheese. Amazing 👏.

I'd say there are good days and bad days with my orders from here. The biggest plus is they deliver on post mates and when they order is right, it really can be great and satisfying. I would say, I've never gotten a sunny egg no matter how many times I've requested it but the bagel and toppings are typical right. Maybe 1/2-1/3 of the time the bagel is burnt which is why I had to modify my rating from a 4 to a 3.

The food was ok. Their 'New Yorker' seemed really popular so that's what I got. I saw that capers are added and I love capers! I got it on their 'Tomato Basil' bagel. It was ok. Not the best, but not the worst. I just ate the salmon, capers, and tomatoes.

Well, I knew they offered Bagel Sandwiches Breakfast & Lunch, but I haven't been to any Goldstein's in YEARS...... until now because I heard they offer a Breakfast Burrito I just had to try it.

They offer two Breakfast Burritos both are $8.79, the California Burrito has 3 Eggs, Avocado, Spinach, Potato's and Cheddar Cheese.... sounds good but I went with The Big Breakfast Burrito which comes with 3 Eggs, Hash Browns, Cheddar Cheese, and your protein choice of Bacon, Sausage, Ham or Pastrami, yeah you got that right

Went in last Sunday. The drive-thru was crazy ridiculous long (around 10am) ordered the traditional with Lox, Capers, Bermuda Onions and Tomato on a Everything bagel fresh out of the oven.

The wait was long inside and it appeared to me as if they service one customer at a time... like no eye contact until they were finished with the person in front of you, although there were about 3 people working the counter - i'm sure they were working hard at getting the phone orders completed as well as drive-thru.
