This is definitely a worthy first review for me. I've depended on Yelp when I lived in San Francisco to navigate the million places to see and go there. Being new in Seattle I don't know what's good and what's not, so I like to read what other Yelp-ers have to say. I called Lotus Automotive for a quote to re-bolt my exhaust piping on my Nissan Sentra when it came loose.

I was at this place yesterday and I told Zoltan to take a look at my car and see what the problem is. And Zoltan was very friendly, and he told me the problem very quickly, I suggest you go to Zoltan, he is a great mechanic, I went to other places and I just said please look at the car and they said you should take the an appointment and Bring it inside , and that was really stupid.

Zoltan has not only done regular maintenance on my older BMW 5-series at a great price but also bailed me put on a water pump failure and ECU failure at at fraction of the cost of a dealership. I trust nobody more on my European car but I also know he does others.

To be totally honest the first time I went to Lotus Automotive I wasn't sure about my choice. It is not the fanciest of places but on closer look I noticed that some of the cars there that Zoltan was working on definitely were. I am so glad I didn't judge the book by its cover. How he knows so much about so many different makes of automobiles amazes me. I have moved to Leavenworth which is about 120 miles from Zoltan's shop and I still take my cars there. I have one there as I am writing this. I have recommended him to many friends and family and they all have had positive experiences

Zoltan and his crew have been phenomenal for us for years. We've been taking our vehicles there for years and they always do top notch work! One time, my windshield wiper motor went out on my 1989 Dodge Dakota pickup truck. The parts we needed were no longer available. So, he made the parts needed with whatever he had around his shop and it worked! He got the job done and didn't charge me for it.

A friend referred Lotus Automotive when he learned I wouldnt drive my 'new to me' 2001 Jaguar. I felt it was unsafe, something wasn't right & it scared me. It performed well when I took it for a test drive & though it seemed to 'float' across the cement rather than grab it, I thought I just needed to get used to it. Over the next 2 weeks I drove it twice & went less than a mile both times.

I'd say I have had better experience here. Shop has worked on my car many times and I have spent well over $5,000 in repairs over the last two years. What bothers me is that they have replaced parts that eventually broke, and upon returning come to find out that it seemed like it was done on purpose for me to pay for another replacement again. I used to trust these people but not anymore.
Also check your oil level before leaving. Lately they tend to under fill it.

If you're expecting a guy in a white lab coat, a fancy waiting room, and a cappuccino you'll be thoroughly disappointed.
These are grease monkeys. Honest grease monkeys :)
I've been here twice.
Once when my Mom came up from Port Angeles and her water pump blew.
They were nice to my Mom and charged her a fair price. They get six stars just for that.
The second time they replaced a coil on my truck and tried to not charge me. I insisted they take my money.
Their English is pretty good. Russian ancestry if I had to guess but I could be wrong.
Bottom line

Lotus Automotive is the best automotive repair shop in the whole state. I am a car enthusiast and I buy lots of cars..come across many problems. I wish I had found them since day one. They do not charge arm and leg..NO games. Very straight forward people...If they know what's going on with the car. They will tell you right off the bat unlike other shops who will charge you for even getting inside your car. Spencer and Zultan are well mannered and very knowledgeable people and they will fix your car for what they give you an estimate for...which is always extremely reasonable. I have taken

I can't say enough good things about this place! Staff was incredibly friendly and seemed wholly interested in getting me back on the street without raiding my wallet. After one of my neighbors brought it to my attention they did good work, I have used Lotus repair a couple of times now. The shop is at the top of the street from my house and it has been absolutely terrific. I have only used the shop for repairs that were short notice/emergency situation, but they have been very helpful. As an example: I went up there because we couldn't get the flap on our ACURA to open so that we could put gas in it. I called and they had me come right up. Within a few minutes they gave me an interim solution so I can get gas in my car and my wife down the road.

Zoltan is the man. I just took my BMW Z4 there for a 60k inspection and oil change. I called a handful of local mechanics for price quotes on this service and Lotus Automotive was the most affordable. Compare his price quote of $220 with $517 and $368 that I got elsewhere. He pulled about a pound of leaves out of my (cabin?) air filter. My fault I suppose for parking outside. Everything else was in good condition and he didn't try to up sell me on anything. The only hiccup in the experience was I didn't get his call when my car was done. I called him 30 minutes after the estimated finish

Last week I got the head gasket replaced on my 1997 Subaru Legacy. Zoltan and his crew did it for about $1k less than what Smart Subaru wanted. In the 2 days after I got it back, I drove 1400 miles to school in Arizona without issue. Zoltan was reasonable and frank and I highly recommend his services.

When you grow up with a mechanic for a father, you get spoiled and paranoid. I've never felt comfortable in trusting what any other mechanic has ever told me before, however Zoltan is truly the next best thing to having my Dad around the corner. He came highly recommended when I bought my 99 BMW and seriously does amazing work for a lot less than what you'd pay elsewhere. Each time a friend buys a foreign car I suggest Lotus. Zoltan is the best. I've simply driven on to his lot with car problems and he's always just gotten right down to business and fixed the problem. He's a straight-shooter; I've never once felt pressured to do more repairs than necessary or been conned into repairs with fear tactics. I know virtually nothing about cars, and he never takes advantage of that. His prices are fantastic and he gets the job done faster than any other mechanic I've ever been to.

Hands Down the BEST german mechanic in town. These guys are honest and will treat you right. I've been taking my BMW here for years now and they come in at 1/2 - 3/4 of the cost of taking to the dealer with the same quality of work performed. I used to live right by their shop so this is how I found out about them. I since moved 15 miles away but still take my vehicle here. There's something to be said for the owner being the head mechanic...the guys know their Sh*t!
