The Bakery became famous after many years of baking bread in our "Old Brick Oven", built by it's founders in 1884. People come from miles around to purchase hot bread and bakery supplies from the oven daily. It used to be if you didn't get here before noon, you would see a 'CLOSED' sign on the front of the door.
Now, bread is available most of the time, till sold out or at closing at 9 pm. In 1989, a small deli was added to the bakery, which took off with great success, since all of the sandwiches are made with bread baked every morning, right here at the Bakery. The need for serving a hearty breakfast soon became apparent, and in December of 1991, we began cooking breakfast for the enjoyment of friends and families from just about everywhere.

Services
Fresh greens topped with coastal bay shrimp, chopped bacon, eggs, grape tomatoes, and San Francisco Louie dressing. Our fresh homemade hot meatloaf, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, mayo, and horseradish. Our butty, Bakery fresh croissant is layered with slices of juicy turkey breast and crisp bacon.
Similar to the whole wheat, with exception of honey used to feed the yeast instead of sugar. Delicious whole grain loaf made with oats, cornmeal, crushed wheat, and a smattering of white flour. The famous signature bread that brings back customers from all generations; round loaf made with potato flour.

This place could be better honestly, the food is as good as their employees. Not a whole lot of effort put in, knowing someone who worked there in the past, the bakery items are not all fresh they are either thrown into the freezer or sit in the case for days, you need enthusiastic people who love what they do, and harassment is clearly acceptable between employees as well as poor treatment of customers, I've witnessed the older woman of the bakery be rude constantly to customers, as well as her own co workers, the waitresses are no better and stand around to gossip when customers are waiting

Amazing old school bakery! Giant apple fritters, chocolate bismarcks, and chocolate chip cookies, delicious strawberry scones, eclairs, chocolate mousse, multiple pies available of various flavors, many different types of chocolates, and so much more, all with a very old school, small town feel. Be sure to check out all the historic photos on the walls! Will definitely come back to this place!

Came in at 6pm today 12/17/21 and I purchased two cookies. Obviously they were not baked today and they even smelled like mold. They were as hard as wood. Why not bake fewer cookies everyday (fresh) as opposed to potentially getting someone sick to save a few dollars. "Black Diamond Bakery" right? Smh

It is really sad to say but the food at this place is HORRIBLE. It has so much potential and a landmark to BD but it has turned into garbage. Fried nasty hard fish and chips, chicken fried steak was gross, almost everything we got was bad. No wonder there was only 1 other table seated at dinner time. And completely overpriced for what they serve. Spent $100 to throw all the food away. This place needs Gordon Ramsey to overhaul the menu.

Went back the day before thanksgiving
This time I got a jar of honey and a small jam! I have been loving the honey for my teas!
Definitely check it out next time you are there.
Of course we got the cinnamon buns because I love them. Then I got the strawberry jam scones. Whoa! Love those! I warmed them up a tad and whoa! Very very very good! I really enjoyed them!

I was introduced to this place by the members of a car club to which I belong. The first time I ate here, I was impressed by the food. It was generous in proportion, tasty and served by nice people. I had read about their baked goods so I took a couple of boxes home to the family.
I liked their food so much that I drove 45 minutes the next morning to bring my family so that they could experience the food at Black Diamond.
This rating should be 5 starts and I will say that it is at 4.5 right now. The only issues that I had are: 1. We stood waiting to be seated for some time before we were noticed

We were there for an early dinner on Oct 9. Only one server to handle everything from seating to cashing us out. She did an outstanding job! The food was delicious. My only suggestion is that carrot cake should have a cream cheese frosting rather than a sugar/shortening frosting which detracted from the taste of the cake rather than enhancing it. If you change this you'll get more people coming back for carrot cake.

Went here on a Tuesday mid-morning and was seated immediately. Not crowded at all. Ordered my usual BD breakfast sandwich on rye with sausage and it came in short order. Piping hot with a very generous portion of hash browns perfectly cooked and they were piping hot as well.
The sandwich was actually larger than In past visits and guessing it was due to the bread slices sizing 'cuz they were huge.
My wife had the bacon and scrambled eggs which were also hot and perfectly cooked. Coffee was very good tasting as well.
The bacon comes from Springbrook Farms (I believe) in Renton and is the

Up visiting family & they took us to this gem. Got there early because it definitely filled up. Walk in & greeted by the bakery portion....grabbed some cookies on the way out but there & tried to focus on breakfast. Ordered Eggs Benedict - first time with a biscuit instead of English muffin (found I prefer with English muffin) but loved the slab of ham instead of thin sliced. Tried their biscuits & gravy - wished more meat in the gravy. Berry Crepes were good. Always thumbs up when Coke products are served. Waitstaff seemed a little scattered but the one that came over to take our

I drove all the way to Black Diamond only to be "greeted" by a sign ordering all patrons to wear a mask. Hello, it's June of 2021 and the mask mandate is expired. Those of us who are vaccinated should no longer be held hostage by those that didn't choose to be. Your restaurant, your choice, but you lost a customer.

Sadly I have to agree with the others that have posted about the rude treatment of customers from the bakery side. I have been in several times now trying to give them "one more chance" but each time the lady working (owner?) is so so rude. It really does take away from the bakery. It's such a shame because the bakery is so historic, and was sold. I REALLY wish someone else would take over the business and see it through to its full potential.
Not only is the vibe terrible but the cleanliness is so nasty. I don't even think they post their mandatory "rating" where

I would love to give this bakery more stars since I drove 28 miles to get there. This is my first time back in 30 years. I got a selection of an apricot danish, a chocolate pretzel twist, a bear claw and a chocolate glazed old-fashioned. The chocolate old fashioned was good. Seems like they just dip them all in the regular glaze and then put chocolate on top. Not a big deal just something I noticed. The apricot danish was loaded with apricot and you don't see that very often. I have to give them props for that although they were a little too heavy handed with the almond extract. That said

Being a Black Diamond resident, I really want to support local businesses. I have eaten here a couple of times (pre-COVID) and haven't been impressed. It wasn't really bad food, just unimpressive.
Enter COVID.
Called in and ordered breakfast on Mother's day 2020. They said it would be 30 minutes. Got there at 35 minutes. Waited another hour before getting my cold food. I just chocked it up to learning how to deal with the new rules (but the waitress was incredibly clueless).
Today we went in to get breakfast. The waitress (same as the last time) took my name, but couldn't tell

If it weren't for the bakery this would be a one start outing.
It's important to note that we ordered off their website and it was supposed to be curbside pickup but they never brought it out and our food was just sitting there when we went in to check on it. That can be forgiven, times are crazy...
BUT...
We ordered Xtra crispy hashbrowns, prompted by their website mind you, that came out undercooked!
The Benedict I ordered came with overcooked FRIED eggs, if they're going to give me fried egg instead of a poached egg and not tell me about it, it better freaking be cooked perfectly

Took a morning drive to Black Diamond and loved the bakery products. I bought a Carrot cake, chocolate mousse, and some pinches. Cashier had to redirect a customer in front of me to the correct exit and then after he left she went on and on about customers who couldn't follow the rules. I told her my three selections and she was so busy talking about facemasks and gloves that she didn't listen.
Transaction #1 complete.
Me: "Can I get a spoon for my chocolate mousse cup so i can sneak some in the car? Haha"
Her "oh, I didn't ring you up for that."

Well. I seriously was done with this place but last night a friend had her 50th birthday party in their private room and the service from Aurora alone has turned my mind around.
Aurora with a little assistance from one person served our whole group of approximately 30 people with impeccable skill and was warm and friendly too.
I had the Cobb Salad and it was delicious but would benefit from having avocado & black olives added to it. Dad has his fave the Chicken Fried Steak. He loves it but for me the meat is too preformed/frozen patty. The mashed potatoes also looked a little thin. Mom
