Tried to schedule through their website... didnt work 3 out of four times I tried.4th time I filled out form said someone would call no one ever called, days pass ,I call them no one answered then they call back I explain" broken tooth, pain,help please"$150 in advance we won't do consult and actual dentistry on the same day and we can see you in February ...no compassion no help just mercenary disregard I would bet their review s are fake

There were two incidents in 2020 and 2021 when I needed one of my wisdom teeth pulled out. I went to Dr. Huang both times, he was very kind to make space in his schedule when he found out I was in pain. The place is very clean, all the tools he uses are high quality, and Dr. Huang is also very skilled and his process is painless. River Dentistry has become the only place I trust for my wisdom teeth and my place of preference for cleaning my teeth. I should also note that Gracieth at the front desk has always been very kind and helpful.

I have been a patient of Dr. Charlie's for several years now and have to say he and his staff are always terrific. Had to go in yesterday at the last minute for sudden and then worsening pain in my teeth and they couldn't have been more helpful. They were able to see me fairly quickly and really took care of me. I am sad to say that although staff and doctors were kind and welcoming , the actual process of the treatment was absolutely the worst after having to come back multiple times for a crown. The crown itself was expensive and it kept coming off while I would be eating. I didn't wanna come back the third time and I've lost the crown while it came out from my gums once again while eating. I paid a lot to get this treatment done and I've also gotten the best type of crown they offered. Now I gotta go somewhere else and spend money again. This is an updated review from years ago because

Experienced the most traumatic scan/xray. I already hated doing that and she did nothing to alleviate my discomfort, but in fact worsen it. The tech seems to be in a rush. The manager, Tonya seems rude, called me at 7 pm to pressure me into doing the procedure sooner. Seem to only care about the money. I mean i get it's a bustiness but you're still in the business of Heath care. At least act like you care.
Dr. Charlie seems okay though. Did not have a terrible bed side manner but seems to be lacking of certain warmth towards patients

I went to River Dentistry for emergency care treatment for pain TODAY from a wisdom tooth that had been extracted during oral surgery by another dentist 4 weeks ago while traveling. My tongue was being cut constantly by the remains of the wisdom tooth. My pain level had been high for weeks. I was very nervous to go in for my cleaning due to the COVID - 19 status our country is in right now. However, I've been very diligent with my dental hygiene and I didn't want to have a gap in my cleanings. So I took a chance and made an appointment last week on 11/19/2020.
When I got there to my surprise it wasn't the normal hustle and bustle as it normally is. They do not allow you to enter the office until they are ready for you. The only people in there is the receptionist, the dental assistant and Dr. Huang. I was told that they are only allowing 1 patient at a time

I had a great experience at River Dentistry. I've heard of many horror stories about the dentist, so I did a lot of research before picking a dentist to visit. These google reviews definitely exceeded my expectations. Great service and wonderful staff! Will be getting my teeth cleaning done here next time!

I liked Dr. Huang because visits to him were quick and painless. However, his bedside manner and overall cavalier attitude left a lot to be desired so I left his practice after a few visits. My husband kept going until he was forced through this insurance to find a new dentist. After going to the new dentist, he found out he had 5 cavities that showed up on the x-rays from Dr. Huang but Dr Huang said and did nothing. If you just want your teeth cleaned, go here. If you actually care about your teeth, go somewhere else.

I recently had to switch dentists due to a change in insurance. I found Dr. Huang through my insurance company, and called to make an appointment to repair a chipped tooth. They were so kind on the phone and made me an appointment for the following morning, which was amazing on its own!
The office is BEAUTIFUL and does not feel like a dentist's office. It is comfortable, clean, and home-like. Dr. Huang was quick and efficient in filling my chipped tooth, and did a beautiful job - you cannot tell at all that it's been filled!

This River Dentistry office was my default provider through a PPO. I looked at reviews for places my insurance would cover, and thought this office sounded like one of the best, so I scheduled my intake appointment and a cleaning, which was easy.
The first visit (March 2019) was quick for all the X-rays, cleaning, etc. The X-ray tech and hygienist were friendly and explained most of what they were doing. The dentist said my teeth looked great and that I didn't need anything done, not even the fluoride treatment many offices might try to up sell you on. I left feeling great.

Terrible dentist and dental work. I was a loyal patient for years up until my last experiences with him. I had to go back 3 separate times for a bad filling job he did and the same tooth area is still sensitive and hurts on occasion when I bite down.
He never really pays full attention to the situation at hand because they are overly booked and or concerned about offering other non dental work such as Botox.
There are other, more reputable great dentists in the DTLA area, thumbs down on recommending River Dentistry.

Absolutely wonderful staff, warm and accommodating. I, without trying, have a bit of an attitude. But they looked past that and treated me outstandingly. I went in as a new patient and paid $120 for the exam, x-rays, and cleaning. Quick and easy x-rays. Which is good for me because I HATE every step of the process in a dentists office. It's a shame when the doctor, himself, needs to do the receptionist's job too. The doctor reached out to me to try and schedule an appointment, after the receptionist Tanya was so rude. Unfortunately, a little too late. The doctor may be the best on the planet but simply due to the receptionist I will be going somewhere else.

Costumer service is terrible. We called several times to make an appointment and the lady who received the call, her name is Tania, was very hesitant, rude and talked terribly to my husband. It got me very upset to see that they hire people that does not have the ability to treat patients the right way when there are so many people looking for a job. LA needs better service, better people, better hires specially when we are talking about medical services.

I had a truly terrible experience with them. I went in to have my teeth whitened (it was their $99 special). They told me I should really have my teeth cleaned first. So I paid $89 for that and had to come back in a week, when the dentist would be available to clean. A week later, I returned. I warned the dentist to be careful with my veneers. She insisted there would be no problem. THE CLEANING SHATTERED MY FRONT VENEER. I was livid! I went back a week after that (this is now 3 appointments over three weeks already) and she repaired my veneer that she shattered. AND THEN THEY CHARGED ME TO REPAIR

But I won't go back anymore and can't trust the office anymore because of the billing and insurance issue I am experiencing right now...

Dr. Charlie is the kind of dentist that you keep from childhood through adulthood. I've only been going to him for a year and the entire staff is so personable and actually remembers what was going on in my personal life the last time I visited.
I was bulimic for twelve years and I didn't start doing damage control and taking care of my teeth until the pain got great enough. Needless to say I have a pretty extensive treatment plan. He works with me because I'm cash pay and constantly in so much pain. I never wait more than 5 minutes and they make me as comfortable as possible.

I love River Dentistry! I always felt insecure about flashing a wide smile because of overcrowded teeth so I decided to get Invisalign before my wedding. Dr. Charles and his staff helped me to achieve a picture perfect smile by my deadline. I am so pleased with the results and their services. The office and dental staff are always polite and professional. I never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting area for an appointment. Everything about this practice is painless and easy. They also validate for valet parking in the Bonaventure.

This was an amazing and surprising experience for me. After being tricked into paying money I didn't really have to spend on treatments that didn't work in the past (and paying high rates disguised as discounts too) in the past, I've been avoiding dentists. But I knew I needed deep cleaning - at least. They were reasonably priced without making me feel like I had to be grateful. They were gentle but thorough. I'm on the path to better gum health within my very limited budget now.
