I have lived in this building since it opened & the management gets better each time. Thank you for all you do. Highly recommended!

The Emery is an architecturally distinctive building located between the Tilikum Crossing and the OHSU Tram with access to the NS streetcar and MAX orange line. The community is largely young professional, with many medical workers and students from the nearby OHSU Schools and offices. The street vibe is quiet but active, with lots of pedestrian traffic between The medical offices. It is safe day or night. The apartments feature simple open floor plans with granite or wood floors. Appliances, including washer/dryer units, are newish and of a high quality. Noise levels are quiet, with no thru the

My husband and I lived at The Emery for 1 year and really enjoyed our experience. You can't beat the location on the South Waterfront or the dog friendliness! Having a German Shepherd it was difficult to find an apartment that would accept him, but the Emery did with open arms and no judgement! We only moved away because of our change in income due to COVID.

Over the last three years, living here has gone downhill. Rent continues to increase while quality of living continues to worsen, both in the building and the whole neighborhood. The neighborhood is a food desert; The Emery's parent company evicted the nearby food cart pod, so restaurant/takeout food close by is really limited, and there is no local grocery store (25 min train ride). The areas adjoining The Emery are large, undeveloped gravel lots, congested highway, and an unused barge factory.
Parking isn't enforced by The Emery, so the four 30 minute spaces outside are constantly occupied by

I lived here for 5 years, and I only left because of job relocation (this place truly felt like a home, but I got a new job that is too far away to commute from Portland). I previously worked at OHSU, and the commute to and from work every day was convenient and beautiful (the Portland aerial tram is right across the street from the building). The streetcar, Max, and bus are also easily accessible at Tillikum Crossing, which is down the block. I lived in 3 different apartment units over the years, and there are different layout options depending on how much space you need and what your budget is

We love The Emery! Lesley is an amazing asset, and the Emery would be a lesser place without her. I truly cannot sing her praises enough as she is incredibly easy to get a hold of and is always available to help myself and the other residents no matter the rhyme or reason. The shops on the bottom are full of wonderful people as well. This is a fantastic building that will allow you to watch the newest part of Portland grow!

I lived in The Emery for over a year. I moved to Portland, and to The Emery, sight unseen from the East Coast. I was impressed with their staff from the start. I always received a prompt response and my questions were answered satisfactorily. They do a great job to make you feel at home even before you're a resident. They regularly hold community events. After my move in, which was easy, I found the building and my unit quiet and comfortable. I loved the proximity to public transportation and the ample indoor bike storage.

Have been living here since February of 2016 and it has been great. It's comfortable, easy to get to and a sweet price for SW waterfront living. Management is vey responsive and friendly, which hasn't always been the case at other Portland area apartments lol. My girlfriend and I both work in downtown, and the savings in gas money and time on our daily commute have made life that much better for both of us. The low energy appliances keep our electric bill down as well, which was extremely noticeable after paying 160+ a month in a poorly insulated location off Barbur for a year and a half

I've loved living at the Emery for the past year. It's located in a convenient area and a reasonable price given it's in the city. It is an additional $125 a month to park in a secured area but that's also expected if living in the city. It's also really pet friendly!! The apartment is located conveniently close to CLSB, Cha Cha Cha, Pizzicato, the tram, Blue Star Donuts, Bambuza, Little Big Burger among others.

Great place to live. Everything is taken care of, it is super safe, it is well designed, and most of the residents are super friendly OHSU students. The best part is, I can't hear my neighbors. I've lived in a few loud buildings before this. Not a peep.

My one complaint is that they should bring back the half & half for the coffee in the building.

The shops downstairs are a pizzacato, cha cha cha, green leaf, pet store.

The girls that work downstairs now are super nice and good at their jobs. They've been there for approx. 3 months. They even bought $40 worth of toys &

I love where I live. I love the location, conveniently near all forms of public transportation, a farmer's market less than half a mile away during sunny months, great area to walk your dog (or cat), which are welcome here as well, and it feels safe with OHSU security and Trimet always around. The management staff is always super helpful, and new eateries are always popping up!

This may be the best experience I've had while living in different apartment complexes for the past few years. I've lived in other Greystar communities and this, by far, was the best managed, maintained, and overall best living I have experienced. The staff: Ashlie, Darcy, and Pete are rock stars.
It's a perfect location for my other half who goes to school at OHSU, and easily accessible to I-5 so I can get south to work. The property is basically spotless and if you have an issue, Pete is on it in no time.
Ashlie and Darcy have gone above and beyond levels of customer service

Seeing all the positive reviews of the Emery makes me feel a little bad posting such a low review. But, if you have read any of my other reviews, I don't throw out one star reviews like they are going out of style. I'll keep it simple.

I've been searching for a new place and having lived in the SW Waterfront, I remembered this building getting built and decided to check it out. My friend and I walked in and the first thing that the leasing agent asked us was, "what's your price range?" This was before she asked what our names were. I was so appalled that I was speechless

Lived here a year from opening, the building as new is beautiful and very solidly constructed with (what is evidently) quality materials and finishes.
Tram and bus stations are right out side the front door with one of the best gyms in Portland across the street next to the aerial tram which gives you a scenic route to your doctor.

The first set of staff to run the building had absolutely no idea what they were doing which we have assumed why they were replaced. Similarly, the new managers have no idea what they are doing, with anything and everything being blamed on the previous management.

We have lived here for the past year and overall it has been a pleasant experience.

Pros
* Fantastic Location - in the desirable South Waterfront neighborhood close to all types of public transit and a 5 min drive from downtown
* Friendly Staff - The management & staff are very friendly and seem to have a genuine interest in interacting with the tenants
* Price - While the price is high compared to other areas, it is the most affordable building in the South Waterfront.
* Convenience - There are 2 restaurants & a juice bar in the bottom of the building and more just up the street!
* New

The Emery is a beautiful building on Portland's south waterfront with easy access to the portland street car and the OHSU tram. The building is just a little over a year old.

We came out to Portland last May in search of a new apartment as we were making the move from Philadelphia to Portland. The south waterfront caught our eye and I knew this is where I wanted to be. At the time they did not have a unit available for us but we continued to check monthly, we finally found a unit that would suit our needs, luckily we were able to do our application online and were approved very fast. The only honest post about the Emery was from New R. and doesn't even show up on the main page for comments.

Let me tell you about the Emery.

I was extremely excited to move in because it is in a great location and is a brand new building. I was one of the first residents to move in when they opened their doors early even though they were not finished with the building due to the fact they signed leases early with false move in dates.

The longer I live here, the more I realize how poorly thought out and constructed this building is. The walls are paper thin so I can hear everyone around

We just moved here from TX and couldn't be happier to call the Emery our home. This is such a great building and great neighbors too. The staff made our move a very painless process. They're always willing to help with big smiles on their faces. Great team!
