I absolutely love being an optometrist and getting to know my patients personally! Practicing as a low vision specialist is incredibly rewarding. I enjoy helping children and adults be able to function better in their daily lives by improving their visual functioning with low vision aids.

There are many different types of low vision aids that you will be demonstrated to you at your low vision evaluation. There are many different aids because we want to find the right device for your individual vision needs and goals. After we determine the proper power and equipment you require, we will set up a follow-up visit with our occupational therapist to make sure you are trained in the use of the devices that we recommend.
If you suffer from diminished vision issues and have been told that there's nothing further that can be done for your condition, it's probably because traditional corrective options, such as glasses and surgery, don't offer any answers for your particular problem. My son and I had such an amazing experience with Dr Jennifer Wood! We actually drove out from Killeen and the drive was absolutely worth it! My son is completely blind and has seen 4 previous vision specialists, none of whom did half of the testing Dr Wood did, nor did any of them give us even half the resources and information Dr Wood did! She got us set up in programs I didn’t even know existed! My son is autistic as well as blind, and struggles quite a bit with doctors, but Dr Wood immediately got down on the floor with him and started playing with him to earn his trust!
