San Francisco Meditation Group Of Self-Realization Fellowship
The San Francisco Meditation Group is composed of members and friends of Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF), a worldwide nonprofit religious organization founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1920. The aim of Self-Realization Fellowship is direct communion with God in meditation through the practice of Kriya Yoga, an ancient and sacred scientific technique of Meditation.

Our Chapel serves sincere seekers in the Bay Area, welcoming all to a sanctuary of Peace with which to help balance meditation and activity in their daily lives; to share and practice the teachings of Paramahansaji, provide spiritual support to one another through group meditation, and perform uplifting spiritual service to the world.
Services
The value of silence cannot be understood except through experience. What joy awaits discovery in the silence behind the portals of your mind no human tongue can tell. The San Francisco Meditation Group holds an annual weekend retreat the weekend before Thanksgiving at the beautiful Commonweal Retreat Center in Bolinas, Marin County.
There are no membership requirements to attend our meditations or readings services - all are welcome. However, when we revisit our Wednesday night study of the SRF Lessons, we will require that all attendees be currently receiving the SRF Lessons or have completed the 3.5-year course. Application forms for the SRF Lessons are available online.
In May of 2013, San Francisco Meditation Group was granted stewardship of a strip of San Francisco's Balboa Park along Ocean Avenue outside of the fencing on the north side of the street opposite the BART station and on the east side of the 280 Freeway, opposite the main campus of City College. Our devotee Michael Somers initiated this arrangement and is our Master Gardener.

This is an awesome place for deep meditations. It has a very sweet vibration that you can feel as soon as you walk in, and it’s much easier to meditate there because of it. Don’t miss it if you have a chance to go.

Very sweet place to bathe your soul in peace and bliss. I love the Friday night meditation services to sooth my spirit after a long week. The 8 hour meditation on Sundays are day retreats in their own rights, and one can enter or leave on the hour during the beautiful chanting periods. Definitely worth visiting! 🙏🏼.
