One of the most amazing bike rental shops we've tried through our two months trip around the U.S.
They have the largest selection of bike trailers for kids to choose from and kindly let us try them out before renting. Triston was also really nice and gave us a discount so I could try an electric bike when my husband rode an electric bike with a trailer with our 11 month old. Huge shout out to Triston for great customer service.
Will definitely be back to try out all the different bike trails around Santa Monica!

Really great people--the kind who hold a neighborhood together. I was nearby with my own bicycle (not a rental) but my tires were super low. They let me fill up with air, but also showed me how to do it properly, how to read the PSI recommendation for my tires (I'd been doing it wrong all year), and didn't charge me a thing. I didn't have my wallet on me and couldn't even give the guy a tip--he was a gem and thought nothing of it. I really appreciate people being so thoughtful and human!

We rented two bikes from this location, an urban Arrow shorty and a tandem, to ride down to Marina del Rey and back. The cargo area on the shorty was great to carry a cooler bag, small beach chairs and snacks, really quite spacious. It took a moment to get my balance with the cargo hull full, but once I did it was effortless. I would recommend using the bike on turbo to get up the hill from the beach. My daughters had such a great time on the tandem! It was the first time they had ridden one so we all had a great laugh, and teamwork was required. The cost includes helmets, as well as a bike

Definitely would recommend this place. We parked at a public parking structure, had brunch around the corner, and headed to the bike center to rent out bikes. It was super easy and convenient, we rode for two hours and it was just the right amount. We rode all the way to Venice which is the left side of Santa Monica beach. They have baskets and locks for your bike which was super helpful.

We called ahead of time and felt welcome when we got there. Tristan is so easy to talk to, kind, fun, witty and happy. He made sure we were comfortable on the bikes, didn't act like he had explained house to use the bikes 100 times that day which I admired and appreciate! We loved biking!!! If we ever come back we'll go here again!! So fun!!!! A MUST DO!

So grateful this shop exists and employs super kind and helpful folks! After calling around to many bike shops to see if we could rent a cargo e-bike for a few days, I discovered many spots are no longer renting and are only selling (some shops even seemed annoyed I was asking despite their websites still advertising they were renting). Enter: The Bike Center in Santa Monica! Easy online reservation system. Great communication. My kids and I rented a hybrid triad bike on 2nd street. The customer service was amazing! I never rode this style of bike and was a little nervous, but they were very patient and showed me how to steer and use all the devices. My 4 and 8 year old loved me being their Uber driving them around to different play areas. It was such a beautiful day at the beach making life long memories, and I got a good workout to boot! I highly recommend renting a bike from here!

I have a Bunch BI Ike (family cargo bike) that I rode to the beach from home 5 miles aWay carrying both kids. On my way home, the seat came loose and slid down, makinG it impossible to ride! I drove past this amazing shop. WithIn 10 seconds, the two friendly stafff members handed me a hex wrench so I could adjust the seat. Free! I made it home thanks to them!! Plus they offered to let me park this beast there next time I went to the beach!!

I never taught Gavin how to ride a bike. We have not lived in conditions where I could get him a bike. We've rented a room for years and we moved quite frequently, too. Nine months ago I signed my first lease to an apartment... so I figured it's time that I get him acquainted because I now I space for it.
Tess wanted to hangout w/ her friend so I Yelped what was around and decided this on a whim. Tess isn't physical activities so I didn't feel bad that she missed this. Since Gavin didn't know how to ride I rented a tandem bike. I think I paid extra for insurance
