Our Events & Retreats program includes beginners' workshops, special one-time courses, and retreats that allow us to gain a rich experience of Buddha's teachings and meditations.

Mahasiddha Kadampa Buddhist Center is a 501(c) non profit meditation center in Portland, Oregon and a member of the New Kadampa Tradition, founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. MKBC wishes to be a a place where anyone can uncover their full potential for happiness and freedom from suffering.

If you wish to attend in person please email the center at info@meditationinoregon.org to check for availability and reserve your spot. We are able to accommodate 14 people to attend in person at a time (at classes and events taught by Kadam Heather Rocklin). Masks and social distancing required until further notice.
Kadam Heather, a disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for 23 years, has been the Resident Teacher of Mahasiddha Kadampa Buddhist Center in Portland since 2006. A working mother of a 7 year old, Kadam Heather shows how Buddha's teachings are practical and beneficial for everyone. Her teachings are clear and compassionate and she presents with a warmth that makes them very accessible.
Learn how to start and maintain a regular meditation practice. The reason we are not happy in our life is because our mind is filled with negative thoughts and feelings such as anger, depression, anxiety and jealousy. Meditation causes this negativity to settle and allows a peaceful state of mind to arise.
