We are a member-run bicycle club in Fairfield County, CT, that has been riding since 1977. Annually we provide more than 1300 organized rides and other cycling related activities for our members and the community, which stress safety, fun and fitness, for all levels of riders. Sound Cyclists hosts social activities and the Bloomin' Metric, one of the North East's premier cycling events, offering rides from 15 to 60 miles.
The club also provides the opportunity for cyclists to improve their riding skills. An advocate of safe cycling in Fairfield County, and the State of Connecticut, Sound Cyclists actively supports cycling and related charitable activities in the area. Sound Cyclists is open to everyone and you can join us for a $35 annual family membership.

Services
Sound Cyclists continuously schedules rides throughout the year, with a more extensive schedule in spring, summer and autumn. Ride leaders schedule their rides through our Ride Scheduling System. This updates the public and member ride calendars real-time. During the height of the cycling season, the club offers rides for almost every ability level, during the week and weekends.
You will be provided with plenty of information when planning to become a ride leader or a great refresher for experienced ride leaders. The Ride Leader Incentive Program recognizes and rewards club members for their on-going efforts to lead or sweep rides. The program offers points to reward people in accordance with their effort during the year.
The bike shops listed below in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey have agreed to give discounts and free bicycle inspections to Sound Cyclists Bicycle Club members. Members must present proof of their membership in SCBC. You can log into the Members Only section where you can download and print out a Membership Card.
If you are new to the area, just visiting, or you're interested in joining the club and want to try us out, you are welcome to join us on a ride. Sound Cyclists promotes safe biking and starts each ride with a brief review of safe riding procedures. All cyclists are required to wear ANSI-, SNELL- or CPSC- approved helmets during any club ride.
