When I was a child, I was not very athletic. In fact, I was typically the last person chosen for kickball at recess. Most recesses, you would find me by the school wall with my girlfriends, taking turns singing lead to the song, "Joy to the World" (ok, I have really dated myself!). My family was, however, very active: hiking, camping, swimming (most summers we would spend the entire day at the pool).

Pilates is a unique system of stretching and strengthening exercises that was developed by Joseph H. Pilates. One of the early uses of his method was as a rehabilitation program for prisoners of war and was later found to be of great benefit to anyone seeking a higher level of fitness. Through regular practice of these exercises, one can strengthen and elongate the postural muscles as well as the limbs.
Traditional weightlifting, pumping iron, and endless sit-ups are impressive, however, can you lift a heavy box without harming yourself? Are you able to roll and play with your grandchildren without throwing out your back? Can you run to catch a bus or take the stairs at work without feeling completing winded?
Personal training is no longer considered a luxury, but an investment in your health and well-being. Most people would not think of taking up activities such as golf, swimming or tennis, without lessons. So why would you take up weight training or other forms of exercising without hiring a personal trainer?.

What I love about Core Personal Training & Pilates is their welcoming atmosphere. It is very clean and has the most up to date equipment. They offer both personalized and group sessions. Having a back problem their focused approach is very important to me. They are active in the community and support local businesses. I would highly recommend Core!

I have trained at CORE Personal Training and Pilates Studio since the day it opened, and I would not hesitate recommending it to anyone looking for a fitness facility. During the quarantine, Ruth Gordon, Owner, has found a way to ensure that her clients are able to continue their workouts via Zoom. While being at home I have continued to work out twice a week with Melanie Guadalupe. Mel pushes me and does not let me give up on myself. For years my upper body strength has been lacking. I’ve been working out here for 8 years. I never really liked big box gyms and CORE is an excellent match for me. ALL of the trainers here are elite trainers and everyone is welcome here. If you want results this is the place. They also offer online classes which are fun and super affordable. I also love the self serve vibe plate training. This place is great! A fun, friendly, results oriented gym. You should definitely give them a try.

CORE Personal Training and Pilates Studio is HIGHLY recommended. I started working with Ruth and her team in February 2020, just prior to the pandemic shut down. During those first couple of weeks in studio (prior to the shutdown), I got a baseline of measurements and a couple of in studio private sessions. Upon shutdown, Ruth quickly transitioned her team to provide virtual (Zoom) workout sessions, which have been equally as challenging as those done in-studio. I have taken group classes here with a variety of the trainers and really enjoyed all of them. During Covid I gave Zoom workouts a try with Melanie and was pleasantly surprised with how effective they were. It was a great accommodation to my needs and schedule and I got a great workout. They are always friendly, helpful and accommodating.
