I am so thankful that I found Shoe Specialist. I had a pair of Frye boots that I wore through the soles, but I don't trust my boots with just anyone. I hadn't found a good shoe repair place since we moved to Maryland, and I liked everything other Yelpers said about the owner's history, friendliness, and, most importantly, skill.

One week apart and I have my favorite boots back again! These Ralph Lauren boots have been my go-to fall and winter books for a few years ago. They’re comfortable and broken in, but unfortunately the heels were super super super worn down. They put new heels on and they look great! Can’t wait to wear them again.

I could not recommend this place more!!! I brought 4 pairs of luxury shoes here. All needed cleaning one needed a heel replacement and 2 needed repairs. Let me say he worked absolute magic! I had worn my shoes to death and I really didn’t think much could be done. I was pleasantly proven wrong! Each pair came back polished and just as clean as the day I got them! The repairs were done perfectly and the heel replacement was done so well that I know I’m going to get years of wear from it. I really put my shoes through a lot. I had two pair of leather shoes repaired by Mr. Eldridge, both of which were run down and needed to be re-soled and needed new heels. One pair was a leather woven flat, which also needed some strands rewoven and glued down.
The shoes came back looking brand new and beautiful! It is like having new pairs of shoes - can highly recommend quality work if you take your shoes here.

Went to have a hole patched to my Ugg boots and get the Ugg boots cleaned..I was told not much could be done to fix the hole but a patch. I was ok with having a patch put on. When I pick up the shoes the patches were horribly cut and sewed on. Both patches are a different material and color 😑. I wont be recommending anyone to go here to get any patch work done. Only a decent job was done here was the cleaning.

Mr. Eldridge is extremely friendly and does great work. I’ve been going to him for 5 years and have always been pleased. I’ve routinely used him to re-sole men’s dress shoes and install heal plates. It’s much cheaper than replacing shoes that are otherwise fine. And who wants to go through the pain of breaking in new shoes when you can refurbish the comfortable pair you love? To top it off, Mr. Eldridge is a true gentleman!

Fantastic job done, service and an all around good human! I had to have six shoes modified with a large prostectic. All look fantastic and meet the exact requirements of the Dr. One of them was a Under Armour sandal, (my favorite footware) that another cobbler said would never work.
It came out terrific, no change in stability or comfort and it looks great with a complementary colored prostectic.
Not to mention that the other cobbler wanted to charge $40 more per shoe!
If your a bit of a drive, it will be well worth it!

I had a pair of expensive, barely worn shoes in which the soles dry-rotted over time. I took them here to see if there was any hope for them but there was not. The owner was very kind and honest saying that they could not be fixed. I appreciate businesses being upfront on what can and cannot be repaired. If I am ever in need of shoe repair again I will return.

I've never been to a cobbler and had a pair of RedWing work boots that had some severe sole wear due to constant daily use. Instead of paying RedWing an outrageous fee and waiting months for a repair I stopped in here. I'm sure glad I went with Shoe Specialist.
He only took about a week and was very affordable. This cobbler revitalized my favorite pair of work boots! Highly recommend!

My parents used to own a dry cleaners (where I worked, when I was younger). They used this service for their shoe repair. Mr. Coleman always did a wonderful job, and he is such a sweet man. We saw hundreds of shoe that he repaired - putting on new heels, shining up old shoes - and never had a complaint. I am not discounting the experience of the person who left a one star review, but wanted to say that I saw hundreds of shoes come in and go out our door, that Mr. Coleman fixed. Never had an issue. The shoes always looked great.

I'm disappointed that this is the review that i have to leave considering i've been here a couple times and the owner always seemed so nice and the work done was ok, but today was the final straw. Like i said the work has always been ok to me but when i picked up a couple pairs of boots yesterday from haveing the heels replaced both pairs of my boots had been damaged. One pair was a cheaper pair, and i didn't care too too much because i know things happen. But i had another pair which were of very good quality and when i got them back one of the boots was completely scratched up
