Let's bike ride off into a golden sunset together, Yelp friends ...as now, I can ride, as I recently purchased a new bike from Open Air Bicycles!

Service is top notch here, as everyone is friendly and helpful. Katie helped me pick the perfect hybrid bike for road and mountain adventures. Katie answered all questions and had me test ride several bikes to compare models. Katie also mentioned to bring my bike back into the store after 30 day use, for an free adjustment, inspection and "tune-up" of my bike too.

i'm so happy and pleased with my purchase and experience at

My rating is zero for this business, I took my bike in to get a tuneup and to fix a flat tire. The cost was $280 for a tuneup and to fix the flat. When I went for a ride the shifting was not right and they never fixed the flat. Some young kid that just did not want to be bothered. Avoid this place at all cost's. Customer service has a lot to be desired

Staff at Open Air Bicycles is excellent! I worked with Mario and he assessed my daughters bike right when I brought it in and gave an estimate on price as well as a finish date. Communication was 100% and we'll definitely be coming back with any biking needs. Friendly atmosphere!

I was looking to buy a few bikes and was shopping around and went to a few stores. I took the chance and drove the 1 and half to Open Air Bicycles. Let me say I am glad I drove that far because as soon as Myself and wife walked in I was greeted by the staff and felt welcomed. Mario was my our go to guy and was helping us out. We where looking to buy pretty much everything we needed from a bike to bike rack and parts. He tools us around the shop and asked us what we wanted out of a bike, we wanted mountain bikes so that's what he showed us. He explained pricing, ridding, different bikes, and

Purchased a $700 bike black brand specialized roller a few years back and enjoyed the bike ever since. However, just left the shop and I wanted just to put air on the tires so the gentleman with long hair let me borrow shops black pump. Walked back 2-3 times trying to figure out the right air pressure to pump in my bike tires and needed help. That same gentleman advised me the numbers should pump up if you have the pump on properly. He obviously knew I had no experience in using it. With that being said he still did not want to take 10 seconds of his time to help me simply put air on the tires

If only zero stars were an option, this place would get it. I was looking forward to buying 2 Pinarellos, but was outright ignored. I tried to ask for assistance from THREE employees, and they all didn't have a care in the world. Snooty employees. None of the employees wore masks too.

Took the old Trek in for a tune-up and I am sure glad I did! The bike performs better than when it was brand new. The shifting is crisp and brakes are very responsive. Service was quick and the pricing was very reasonable. Staff is friendly and definitely knowledgeable! Great local bike shop!

I needed a Bicycle Deraileur and chain installed on my bike so I called a few shops in the Ventura area and Open Air was very busy, but still very kind and helpful. It ended up that I also needed the bracket to bolt the deraileur on to the frame and it was unavailable everywhere. I asked if there was any way to put a chain on and make it a one speed. They checked out the bike as it may not be possible for all bikes and made it happen at the minimal cost. They weren't after my dollar. They were after helping a fellow biker out. I would recommend them to any biker in the area.

Bought a bike here about 6 years ago, but recently cracked the frame. Jeff went to bat for me with Specialized's customer service and ended up getting my bike replaced under warranty. Just became a lifetime customer of Open Air.

This place is amazing. The employees are all so helpful, easy-going, fun to talk to, talented, and incredibly knowledgeable. Pretty much walking encyclopedia's of bikes and best practices and strategies for bike care!! Wow they amaze me. They also stayed after-hours for me and was sure that they did the best job as they waited for me to take it on a test cruise around the block. They made sure that I was happy with my bike and their repairs on it... for such a great price too!!!

They were all so considerate, fun to be around and made me feel so comfortable. Can't wait to go back! (Never

Talked to them over the phone about an issue with an electric bike and they were very confident about bringing it into them to be fixed. Said it wouldn’t be a problem they could do it. Even told them the brand of the bike. Brought it in and the rude clerk denied everything.

I have been mountain biking for 32 years, hard tail mostly. Finally built a custom full suspension dream bike and was almost at the finish line, but, well, parts, and ran out of time. Popped into open air and immediately greeted with enthusiasm and positive biking vibes. Since then these guys have got me riding on the new rig, street styling the old one, and loving biking more than I ever have. I will be back for maintenance on all our bikes. Keep up the good work guys!

Super helpful knowledgeable staff.

Although I've only been there once, I was impressed by the help that Mark gave me. I was looking for shoes, and he went above and beyond. It was clear that he didn't have a profit-centered focus, but instead a customer-service one.

As far as the place itself, it's got much more of a mom & pop feel. Things are not perfectly spic and span, and the displays feel a little cluttered - but those are things that are secondary, in my opinion.

I definitely would not hesitate to recommend these guys, and will be back in the future.

Very sad, Jayne and I bought our bikes and Amelia's bikes here. We had been regular customers before the pandemic as well as friends with Jon Avery the previous owner. We like to support local business but we will not return here. We are in height of pandemic with now young people getting sicker from the variants. I was there with Amelia who is susceptible at 15 years old. The cashier was maskless. When I asked him "Why don't you wear a mask?" he says, "I never get sick." I asked if he was concerned that he could infect others, such as my 15 year old? His answer

Remember when toilet paper was the "thing" that everyone was snapping up left and right like the word is ending? Well, this year, it's bikes. And don't get me wrong, I'm super happy that people are getting outside more - it's actually a GREAT thing...unless you want to buy a bike.

HOWEVER, you occasionally get a gem of a place like this that won't just sell you a bike simply because you're a human with money looking for a bike. I worked with Katie, who really helped me understand what my mountain bike riding style IS, and how that translates to today&apos

Incredible experience at Open Air Bicycles. I had a pretty bad crash on day 4 of riding from SF to San Diego. My rim was snapped in 3 different places, my disk break was destroyed, and I had no idea if there was any other damage to my bike. I called before going in and Katy said they could help. I walked in with a busted wheel and road rash. Not only did Katy and the guys at the shop take care of my bike, but they offered me water, a place to sit, a jacket to help with the adrenaline shivers, and comforting words. I appreciated everyones thoughtfulness and consideration. Best experience I have

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the team at Open Air. Their attention to detail and incredible customer service really just outshines the rest. I took an old Bridgestone roadie in for a jammed seat post replacement, they worked so hard to get it unjammed. They are all so skilled and knowledgeable. Mark helped me better understand my thrifted Bridgestone, and also adjusted so many other little things he noticed like the brake tension, handle bars; basically did an all around tune up with my seat post repair.
Thank you all so much, we are so so lucky to have you in our community!!!

We actually stopped by Open Air the Saturday before Memorial Day to get our tires aired up in bikes we had borrowed. As you can imagine it was a bit different w/ Covid. It was good to see everyone wearing masks. We ended up getting helped by a man named, Jeff. He was extremely helpful and not at all pushy. He spoke to us in regular terms and didn't make us feel stupid for not knowing all the bike lingo. Although there was someone who wanted to speak w/ him, he didn't rush us and encouraged us to ask any and all of our questions. He was so great that we ended up purchasing 2 bikes from

I came to get a flat tire fixed. I called and spoke to an English speaking man and asked if they could come outside and take the tire off the bike and fix it. He said yes and told me to drive by the front door. He said someone would be out to get the tire off and fix it. He also told me I was parked on the line in an almost empty parking lot and I had to get my car in the lines. I saw people come and go but no one ever came to help me. Not only was this man rude but they provided no customer service. I drove to another close by bike shop which had many customers and they came quickly fixed the

I was looking to get a couple tires swapped onto my 2000 Kona Blast, and one call had me driving down instantly. They were so nice and courteous on the phone, and the pricing was very reasonable. I met Mario, who would be taking care of my baby, and it was very apparent she was in the right hands. His explanations on different parts' functions and maintenance made it so easy to understand being new to the cycling world. He is definitely a natural with how smooth his hands run over the bike making little tweaks to improve feel and function. Without a doubt I'll be coming here from now on for all

My friends and I had decided on a spontaneous bike ride Saturday morning near the beach and were almost there until the chain on my bike came loose. My bike was missing a bolt and after two failed attempts of trying to fix it on our own, we found this place was the closest bike shop. I didn't see any designated parking lot but there was lots of street parking right in front.

My friends and I brought the bike in and someone helped us right away. We waited about 15 minutes and a younger gentleman brought us our bike and said there was no charge for placing the chain back on and fixing the

Great shop. Bike was not pedaling smoothly so took it in. I needed a new chain and had adjustments made. Very satisfied with the service I received.
On June 11, I crashed. Took bike in to get cleaned, inspected for possible carbon frame cracks and the realign left shifter. They did an awesome job. I highly recommend this bike shop.
