The owner, Rob Walden, has been working on cars in some fashion for almost his entire life, started at the young age of 9. The property came up for sale and Rob decided to open his own shop.

I’m so fortunate to have found Scanwest. They’ve serviced the two Saabs that I’ve owned for 30 years and are now servicing our BMW X5 now that they also service other makes as well. All the staff - Rob the owner, mechanics, and service staff are all top-notch, and I challenge anyone to find a better auto repair shop with such honest and likable guys. These guys are the best! Not only am I a Saab fanatic, but after 16 years I just can’t go anywhere else to service my car. It’s time to trade in my old ride for a new one and will of course get another Saab so I can drive my favorite car and keep coming to Scanwest. This is not a place you have to worry about upcharging etc, quite the opposite in fact and it’s just one reason I won’t go anywhere else. They treat you like family and not the dysfunctional kind. Love these guys and can’t recommend them enough!

Finally, a great place to take cars for mechanical issues, and not have to deal with dealerships pricing. I've been complaining to Audi for 4 years about a hard shifting transmission and they keep telling me there's nothing that can be done. They say they can feel it, too, but without a "code", they have no path to chase to repair it. After searching and searching, I came across Rob and his team at ScanWest. The Scanwest crew are great! I stopped by to have my brakes checked and they had no problem squeezing me in the same day. They are super friendly, gave me an honest recommendation about my car (no brake pads needed just yet) and even helped me put on my new license plates with no charge. This is my second time there and I would definitely go back. They know what they're doing and are nice too. You don't get that combo very often.

I’ve been taking my Saab 93 to Scanwest for years and feel so lucky to have them as my auto repair team. I trust them completely. They always do a great job and communicate everything clearly and in a timely manner. I’m always able to get a loaner car when needed and just appreciate them SO MUCH! Bought my 1998 Saab 900 turbo which had leaks, engine issues and I also crashed it they transformed my car from looking like something that you'd find for like 300 dollars on Craigslist into my glorious Saab 900 that I have today.
I would recommend them to anyone who owns a Saab. They do high quality work, got my car back better than when I first bought it.

I recently made the questionable life choice to rather emotionally acquire a 2002 Saab 9-3 Viggen. What gave me confidence is that the seller had over 8 years of service history for the car, all from Scanwest.
I made the purchase knowing that I was going to need to sink some serious money into it upfront to get it mechanically sorted to a degree that I found acceptable and where I would be comfortable really driving it the way a Viggen should be driven. We'll just say it was some heavy duty work - head gasket, valve cover gasket, timing chain and tensioner, serpentine belt, and the list

They have rebuilt my air conditioning, replaced shocks, suspension rubber bushings, clutch replacement, oil changes and diagnosed engine check light that was a defective EZK ignition computer.
As these Saab cars and parts become more rare you really need a specialist for these cars that know the problems and have an inventory of good used & new parts.

Best repair service I've ever received! I've an older Saab that is falling a part. First the transfer case, then, while in the shop, we found out the alternator and belt also went bad, then it was the transfer case and motor. Lastly, as we finished paying the bill, I drove the car up and opened the (already loose) door just to have the interior break off. Thank God for @ScanwestAuto! They gave us the best professional service. They called us with progress updates, showed us what went wrong and how, and even showed us how to get quality parts for cheap on our own! Even fixed the door immediately
