Services
Dr. Martin was born and raised in Maxwell, Nebraska, and is a true Husker fan. After high school, he attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska. He played shooting guard for the Plainsmen and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1989. He pursued his studies at the University of Houston College of Optometry, graduating with a Doctorate of Optometry in 1993.

Soft contact lenses are the most commonly prescribed due to the fact that they are extremely comfortable. Soft contacts are now available in multi focal, for astigmatism and even for overnight wear. Color-Changing: can change the color of your eyes, even if vision correction is not needed. Sometimes called rigid or gas-permeable lenses, hard contact lenses offer sharper vision and can correct severe nearsightedness or astigmatism.
Nearsightedness (myopia) is a common vision condition in which you can see objects near to you clearly, but objects farther away are blurry. The degree of your nearsightedness determines your ability to focus on distant objects. People with severe nearsightedness can see clearly only objects just a few inches away, while those with mild nearsightedness may clearly see objects several yards away.
Glaucoma is not just one eye disease, but a group of eye conditions resulting in optic nerve damage, which causes loss of vision. Abnormally high pressure inside your eye (intraocular pressure) usually, but not always, causes this damage. Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness.
Sometimes called the silent thief of sight, glaucoma can damage your vision so gradually you may not notice any loss of vision until the disease is at an advanced stage.The most common type of glaucoma, primary open-angle glaucoma, often has no noticeable signs or symptoms. Early diagnosis and treatment can minimize or prevent optic nerve damage and limit glaucoma-related vision loss.

Second visit in 3 years. Absolutely excellent service. The doctor is thorough, organized and kind. He walks you through as much technical/sciencey information about your eyes as you want to hear. He doesn’t rush the appointment and answers all your questions and more. Staff are also excellent - from the front desk/intake folks, to the technician and finally the gentleman who helped me pick out my glasses. I drive out of my way to go here because they are great at what they do. Highly recommend

I went in to Vision City to get a new pair of glasses for my 91-year-old dad who has dementia. He has been going there every year or two for his eye exams with Kathy Allen, and she has always been wonderful. He is no longer able to manage an eye exam, but his glasses broke so I came in to get them replaced. The lead optician, Melanie, took care of me and she was fantastic. She looked up his prescription and helped me pick out a new pair of frames while the lab tach did a tricky temporary repair on his old frames. My first visit for an eye exam with Dr. Martin went exceedingly well.. Dr. Martin was proficient, professional and actually very personable. I felt like I had been his patient forever! The front desk staff were all helpful and very friendly.. a smile when you come in, a smile when you leave. I am a existing client at vision city without an appointment, I walked-in with an eye injury. The staff was able to work me in within an hour. Dr. Martin was great, turned out to be a burst blood vessel and easily treated with eye drops and warm compresses. It looked much worse than it was. Great friendly and helpful staff.
