The bar is on the left as you walk in and we got drinks while waiting on the rest of our party. The DJ booth is on the right (on weekends) who played all sorts of music top hits to electronic dance, '80s and today's hits that get you pumped and happy to be at. Service from waitstaff was on point, we moved and shuffled around our seats and the nice server managed to get our checks right!.

Ten hour braised pork belly "Kuro-Buta" (black pork) marinated in a sweet soy sauce, served with baby boy chow and hot mustard. Sauteed spicy teriyaki ground chicken with bell peppers, shitake mushrooms, asparagus, zucchini and onions. Slices of grilled beef rolled up with scallions, celery, & carrots topped with teriyaki sauce.

If I could leave less than 1 star for this place I would. This place was absolutely horrible. The music was way too loud, you couldn’t even hear the person next to you let alone the waiter. It was like we were at a club instead of being a restaurant. You couldn’t even enjoy the music because they didn’t have a dance floor. The food took way too long to get to the table, even if you order something simple like chicken fried rice. For the price of the food you’d expect it to be really good right? Wrong. The food tasted like bad drive thru food. I’d rather eat sushi from a gas station then

When you first arrive at the restaurant to check in for your reservation, everyone in your party has to arrive before you are seated therefore there was a massive crowd at the entrance of the restaurant. This was not Covid friendly and very inconvenient. The food is mediocre and overpriced. On the Saturday night I went, there was a DJ blasting music almost like a club atmosphere. I went for dinner, not a night club. I wouldn’t recommend anyone coming to this restaurant for the food or ambience.

Nikko used to be an upscale family restaurant. Took my wife and 3 years old daughter in today for dinner. Suddenly, I heard hardcore hip hop playing extremely loud with shady people hanging out at the bar. I believe they turned what used to be good into a night club and a ghetto. Pull my wife and kid out and took the food to go. Definitely not recommending Nikko.

Overpriced for the food and the service. Hands down one of the worst Japanese restaurants I have been to in the Charlotte area. Wait time to get our drinks was ridiculous. Food came out cold and very bland. The sushi was decent but the chicken and steak had no seasoning/taste not to mention extremely dry. Very disappointed with the food. For this place to charge as much as they do, you would expect more. With all the places in charlotte, this is not a place I would recommend. First time experience, and probably the last.

Great music but horrible service Im so disappointed my server “liv” had my party of 9 waiting for over 30 mins didn’t come and check on us throughout the night.. drinks went dry and to keep asking for here just terrible.. at the end the gratitude was include which I did not agree with due to the lack of service the waiter was providing ! Just terrible and very disappointed

CHEAP JAPANESE FOOD. The service was absolutely awful. Our server was worried more about his/her eyebrows that getting our order correct. Our entire party was done eating and my cousin still did not get her food....the manager did not even comp her complete bill after we waited for too long.....we asked to see another manager....we were told she is in the restaurant but she is drunk. UNACCEPTABLE. They have fake shrimp sauce and you literally pay three times what your meal is worth....two thumbs down 👎🏾👎🏾. 0 stars....you can do better by eating at a Japanese express before you go..

It's a really nice sushi spot which has a club feel. They play music you would hear in a club and definitely cater to that audience and fits the whole young hip vibe. Sushi is really good quality ingredients. This place has been around for a while and you can't go wrong with it. This is in the pricier tier of sushi restaurants, if you want to impress your date come here for dinner if you just want a casual lunch then just come for lunch on the weekdays!
