This place was okay but nothing special. I had high hopes based on reviews and their menu/pictures etc.
We reserved counter seating which we thought was the chefs seats (near the kitchen) but we were sat at a high top. Not that big a deal and we should have asked but very confusing to reserve that and what it means on open table.
This place markets farm fresh a lot but I was shocked to see no vegetarian mains on the menu. It here were a couple vegetarian starters and nothing on the menu was vegan I don’t believe. We almost walked out due to this but we asked and they ended up having a roasted

The only place available to make a reservation, that should have given me a hint. I did not like anything we ordered - along with the service. We ended up going to a different place for dinner after eating here. I would never go back.

Simple, filling, and flavorful. Visited during a Panthers game but was not too crowded. Not only were the Beignets great… but the chef did not like how he cooked our first batch and sent us a complimentary order. I personally preferred the darker harder cooked ones.
Overall, I will be coming back!

Haymaker the breakfast hunger breaker .
Top tier place to have breakfast so far . From the entrance, to the tall lightings , nice seating placement, the bar is pretty lit and the waiters are fantastic. Dress code : Exquisite. The food did take some time to come thru but it was worth the wait.

Came here a few Sundays back for Brunch. It was the first place we were able to get on the list for last minute the Halloween morning. We were seated promptly but the experience overall was lackluster and did not make me want to return for several reasons...

1. Our waiter did an okay job but the girl with the curly hair that ran our food out must have been having a crap day or something because she was blatantly rude for no apparent reason. She reached over my plate several times and interrupted us to drop the plate on the table where ever she could fit it without saying excuse me or anything

Their current featured pinot noir is excellent! I had the duck leg, it was decent. The French fries were more on the burnt side instead of just crispy. I would return for the wine and charcuterie board.

This was our first visit to Haymaker; it was only okay. The atmosphere was amazing. You walk in to the most amazing bar. The front of the restaurant has these beautiful full length windows.
It is over priced, the selection was lacking and not very diverse. The portion sizes are small. We started with the porkbelly. It was delicious, but was 10% porkbelly and 90% everything else. My husband had the salmon which was underwhelming. It lacked flavor and was a bit boring. I did not see an entree that was appealing to me. A New York Strip for $45, based on the size of the porkbelly... So I

Unimpressed. Let's ignore the loud drunk people at the bar because I didn't think to check if there was anything going on in Uptown tonight. That's my fault. It did make for a terrible date night but this part, at least, was not Haymaker's fault though it does mean that they get no points for atmosphere. We arrived on time for our booking and were seated immediately. The hostesses seemed bored but our waiter was attentive and friendly.

$101 for two entrees, a salad and the pickles with two sodas. That's a lot.

The "Haymaker Salad" was a disappointment. Delicious

Great food, especially brunch. Their eggs taste like eggs... So fresh! I recommend getting the jam for the jalapeno biscuit. So delicious! We enjoyed Marquis. He is a kind and all around positive guy. Great service.
Haymaker is a beautiful restaurant and perfect place drinks. If you're like me and never know what to get but you have a flavor you're craving, ask for Milton. He's a creative and awesome bartender, with great customer service. He created the most delicious drinks and shots for us!

Horrible
I'm rating it so low -- because it was such a hype I think.
Way overrated.

The service was not good disorganized.
Never got a refill on water
We had like 4 waiters ?!

Wait for drinks was forever -- they forgot to input the entree for only a couple people at the table

The steak was horrible --- not a 45.00 steak.
I could barley chew it, however the flavor of the red wine sauce was amazing

Just don't .... Skip it.

Haymaker had a VERY long wait. Before you go, make reservations to save yourself the time. This place is very popular in the area. The food is good, not the best in Charlotte but definitely a delicious meal. I would go back, for sure. I had the steak and eggs, beignets, jalapeño biscuits with potatoes.. delish!
Staff could be a little more ‘lively’ but so can the rest of the world :) either way, you’ll enjoy it if you decide to go to Haymaker!

Overall pretty disappointing, but I did come in with high hopes. This was on some trendy list of "Best Restaurants in Charlotte" but it mostly a let down.

The Heirloom Pumpkin Salad was probably the best thing we got all night, and I'm not really a salad fan. But the pumpkin was great in it and there was just a lot of variety and interesting flavors and textures in the salad. 5/5

The rest was pretty average. We got the burger ($24), which was one of the most expensive burgers I've ever ate and it didn't live up to the price. The two patties are super thick and really

My first time in Charlotte on a business trip couldn't have ended better. Our team came across the kindest, most genuine people that made this trip one of the most rewarding experiences, we will never forget!
I made a list of all the most recommended restaurants in town to celebrate our last night. One recommendation stood out the most was a proud bartender/ server at Haymaker by the name of Marquice. I looked up the location, menu, pics of the restaurant and most importantly online reviews. This is exactly what I had in mind.. the uptown area we didn't get a chance to experience, relaxed

I was trying to find a nice place to take my parents for dinner since they were coming into town and I was a bit disappointed with Haymaker. This place was recommended by a couple different people I knew so I was excited to try the place out.

Haymaker has a great atmosphere and promotes its farm to table menu. The menu is short, expensive, and the portions aren't that big but the flavors are unique and tasty. I ordered the old fashion and really enjoyed it, so maybe come here for a nice drink and spend your money elsewhere for dinner. Service was friendly and didn't rush us and our

We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The atmosphere was very enjoyable! We ordered a Bloody Mary, their version of an espresso martini, the chicken sandwich, a side of grits, and the French toast. Everything was so good, big portions too. This place made me like French toast again! The grits were cheesy with a jalapeño kick, I wish that had been stated on the menu. But great brunch, would definitely go again!

I'm so surprised to see some lackluster reviews for Haymaker- I thought it was great!

First, I was here with a party of 8 to celebrate a birthday and I thought the service was on point, especially given that it was a Saturday night and we were the typical disjointed and indecisive large party.

I was impressed with the food overall as well! The Grilled Octopus appetizer was fantastic. The Shrimp Croquettes were tasty, but a bit heavy on the cream, light on the shrimp for my taste. I ordered the Bluehouse Salmon as my entrée- again, delicious. I tried a bite of Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese

So, I was really excited to try Haymaker, but was underwhelmed with my experience.

Brunch

My order: the haymaker breakfast. simple order. well...my eggs were slimy, the bacon tasted so salty and was cooked too hard and the grits lacked flavor. For the location and ambiance you receive from walking into Haymaker, you'd think the food would be A+.

Brunch doesn't seem to be as sophisticated as the other menu options.

For context; I visited "post-covid", in which many aren't returning to work. So, perhaps they were short staffed.

I'm willing to try them again

Great restaurant! Appetizers are spot on and delicious. We had the cheese board and it had great unique selections that were really tasty! Octopus small plate was a favorite. Steak dish was really delicious. The Duck breast was really good too. Both entree's were served with beautifully prepared vegetables that were fresh and very tasty. Our waiter was terrific and pecan pie was some of the best I have had.

Haymaker did not disappoint! Excellent experience. We did have to wait in the rain for about 10 minutes after arrival (with a reservation) but otherwise our overall experience was exceptional.
Our server Christian was great! He was personable and upbeat, seemed knowledgeable of the menu offerings, and never left us waiting. He aimed to please.
The drinks, food, service, and aesthetics exceeded our expectations. This will definitely be added to our top 3 favorites in the area.
We had the "Oh Honey" cocktail, as well as various teas & juices. All yummy!

One of Charlotte's newest farm-to-table restaurants serves up a modest selection of dishes in an elegant, yet unstuffy setting in the heart of Uptown. On a recent visit with friends, we were impressed with the extensive menu of small plates, but disappointed by the entree choices and somewhat underwhelming cocktails.

The appetizers we started with were all excellent, from the crispy Grilled Octopus and tasty Mushroom Toast to the Charcuterie Board and Shrimp Croquettes. My entree was their amazing NY Strip, cooked to perfection and dripping with flavor. But my wife was less impressed with

Cute, local spot in downtown Charlotte! I love the interior decor, really cute and great for a brunch/dinner with friends. It is on the corner of Poplar and 3rd, and there are parking garages nearby (not sure if they validate parking, we walked there)

We had reservations for a party of 6. We had to wait around 25-30 minutes despite our reservation (they are super busy for brunch). Our drinks and food also took a little longer. They have a few unique items on their menu ( Jalapeño biscuit!!!) but otherwise, it is pretty limited and I wish there were more veg options.

I got the mimosa ($8) and

If you're looking for comfort food with just the right amount of edginess along with a small town friendliness that can be rare these days - search no longer! Haymaker has one of the best fried chicken sandwiches in town - next to a full bar that makes the perfect martini (vodka straight up) and of course - everything is served with a friendly smile!!

Always enjoy stopping in here for a cocktail but every once in a while I try an item off the food menu. They used to have some bomb pork belly on the menu but of course like most farm to table places the menu is updated every so often. The service is always cool and the decor in the restaurant is very cool.

I visited Haymaker as I was visiting a Charlotte on a Sunday. My friend made a reservation and just FYI your whole party must be present in order to be seated.

I noticed they had a few outdoor seating options which is nice. We were seated indoor. I really liked the decor and interior of the restaurant.

We ordered the beignets, which were a tad burnt both times they were brought out. It was okay nothing too great for me. The brunch menu for me was limited. I went with the fried chicken sandwich. Based on images I was rlly hoping to love it. It was very bland and did not have any sort of flavor
