Services
China Delight Restaurant and Lounge opened in 1996 and serves some of the area's best authentic Chinese food. The restaurant is family friendly. We are proud to have earned a perfect score of 100 from the Health Department. We serve lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday and can accommodate large groups of 10-12 at our round tables as well as smaller parties at our cozy booths.

Gross food awful and very rude staff. Should have known to run when it was nearly empty. Go somewhere else.

So much to love: menu offers fresher twists on traditional dishes, there's a huge selection, esp when the pandemic has limited so many menus, they are always quick, and the to-go containers are jam-packed with food (they're like the clown car of food -- when it's put into a serving dish, it somehow expands and fills it up!).

If you're looking for a cozy vibe with no fuss, this is the Chinese restaurant you've been looking for. Middle of the road Chinese food that is still flavorful and fresh. Their Won Ton soup is yummy! Bartenders are chill ladies that take no $hit. If you're of the hoity-toity variety probably not your jam. We don't want ya here anyhow.

I was really excited to come here because it always looks cute when I drive by, and there always seems to be people eating inside. This quickly changed. China Delight does not live up to its name. This place has two flavors--salty and sweet. Almost everything was extremely over salted. Hours later, my tongue and roof of my mouth are still swollen. The fried rice was very bland. We also had the honey walnut shrimp that was so sweet that it tasted like cotton candy; and the texture of the shrimp was lost in the heavy batter. I left there feeling bloated and more than an hour later, my stomach still

In my 30+ years driving past this place, I've passed it hundreds of time. Tonight, we decided to give it a try after much research. Our go-to Chinese restaurant before was Norm's Garden on Barbur Blvd., another family-owned place that, sadly, closed a few years ago. Their General Tso Chicken was my benchmark in Portland. I tried it at CD, along with the vegetable stir fry, and I have a new favorite outlet for my General's. We're a garlic-averse family, and they gladly prepared our dishes without it. I was there at 6:00 on a Tuesday to pick up our takeout, and the place was 3

Great staff, service, and of course food! Owner, Bruce is cheerful, lively and sets the tone for a comfortable atmosphere. While dining in he knew regulars and was inviting to new customers like myself.

Came in for lunch and given peanuts to start with (haven't encountered at other restaurants) and lemon water automatically. Then a cup of hot and sour soup. The lunch menu is straight forward with an entree that comes with fried rice, some noodle entrees available as well. Spicy dishes indicated.

Food came out fast, dishes cleared and checked in on. The portions for lunch are just right.

This is our go to Chinese place. We have been doing take out for 28 years, and haven't found a better Chinese restaurant in the area. The owner is absolutely delightful and offers wonderful service. The food is deliciously consistent, prepared quickly, and served piping hot. Ordering dinner tonite for Mother's Day, my request.

If you've ever been to Jing Jing in Palo Alto, Calif., you'll notice a similarity to the rich, tasty items that are served here. That's because the China Delight Chef originally worked at Jing Jing.

Top Menu Items
1. Hand made noodles.
2. Kung Pao Shrimp
3. House-made Pot Stickers
4. Wok Seared Green Beans
5. Hot & Sour Soup

Look, there are a hundred choices for Chinese Food in the area. And a lot of the restaurants have their specialties that they're good at creating. Some are better than others. And yes, we've tried food from a lot of them.

Not a fancy place but very good food and excellent Service.

The man who greeted us was very impressionable. He greeted everyone especially the repeat customers very warmly.

They have a HUGE menu with lots of items. We have been there 2 times now and enjoyed both times.

We plan on returning the next time we are in the area.

The owner always makes us feel welcome, (welcome home) the service is friendly and fast. Old school Chinese food. We love the Shawn chicken and the shrimp fried rice has more shrimp than rice. Many menu options. The decor is very 1989 but spot on clean.

Not delightful- food bland. Yes, nice greeting at door. But I'm looking for flavor- a real hearty Chinese food experience. Best comparison is to Chinese fast-food, I guess?

Yummy food - great service! Definitely our first choice for this cuisine - and based on the orders flying out the door, we are not alone.

I'm a Taiwan native and this is some of the best Chinese food in Portland. Make sure you ask about the "special menu." You cannot beat the westlake soup, egg plant in clay pot with tofu, and clams with ginger and scallions. Say hi to Bruce when you see him.

Hey, I'm glad we decided to try and order out to eat for the first time in a long time but - getting a dry, flavorless, no veggies, chewy meat meal was not the game plan. I need a refund.

Chow mein: super dry, mushy, no veggies, no flavor, just noodles. What gives?

Mushu pork: wet. mostly cabbage. Nothing fresh. flour tortilla? If we wanted a burrito we would have got Spanish food instead.

Sour soup: not bad. Would maybe recommend.

Thanks for being open but dont forget that quality food matters and cooking authentic food is just as important.

Welcome home! The proprietors greeting sets the tone for an attentive meal. During COVID takeout is quick and delicious. General Tso's Chicken, Squid (forget exactly name of the dish), spicy green beans, all very tasty. With three spicy dishes, the spice flavor profiles were each unique.

I was really hoping this could be our new Chinese takeout spot since moving to Beaverton from Tigard, but alas I doubt we will try again. Portions are small and the food was BLAND. For comparison, one combination dinner from Canton Phoenix came in all separate small takeout containers packed full and could feed my family of 3 with leftovers for another meal, while our #4 from China Delight was in one square takeout container and was barely enough for just my husband and I. The sweet and sour pork was neither sweet nor sour, even the rice and chow mein needed soy sauce just to be edible. The egg

This is the perfect place for a family gathering. Big round tables with the lazy Susan in the middle. I'm not from the Portland area, so I've always been disappointed with the Chinese food here because it's not what I've known in the other places I've lived (Midwest and Southwest). Sometimes I just get a craving for a classic sweet n' sour chicken where the chicken is tender and perfectly battered (not too much and cooked to a nice crisp) and covered in classic sweet and sour. This place is exactly what I want when I'm hungry for American style Chinese food or

I was so disappointed in the food I recently ordered from here.
We have ordered to-go from here several times this year, with orders well over $100, and it has been pretty good. We have been ordering for family gatherings since my mother passed away earlier this year, and nobody felt like cooking. Now that my father has moved into assisted living, he misses his Chinese food.
I came in a week or so ago for 2 orders of Shrimp Fried Rice for him @ $10 each. Today when I went to visit, he asked me not to get him food from here again. My Dad lives near St. Vincent Hospital, I live in NE Portland,

The breakfast is great! It's not a pancake house, but what we did have was much better than the Chinese food I've had there. The half chicken fried steak was perfect. Accompanying half order of stuffed hash browns was a delight I've never had before. Linda, the bartender was very nice and patient.

Apparently they don't serve breakfast on Mondays.

This is more of a neighborhood bar than a quality Chinese restaurant. The bar area is a cozy maze which I could imagine enjoying with a few friends. Hidden spots and many corners to have a quiet chat, or watch a game.
