Took my boyfriend out for dinner on Saturday and we had a great time. We waited at the bar for our window table to be available. Window seating was very worth it. Our server was great and on point. I ordered the wagyu rib eye and my boyfriend ordered the Alfredo. They were both so good!
Oysters weren't really worth the price for what we got. But it was fresh nonetheless.

BEST VIEWS IN PORTLAND.
TIP: arrive in the lobby of the building at 4pm. This will allow you to be the first in and you can pick the best window seat in the house. (elevator will not work to PCG until the restaurant opens)
We arrived at 4pm. Drank wine and dinned on sushi while watching the sun set through the cityscape/hills on one side and hitting the water / Mt Hood and Helens on the other side. It was truly breathtaking.
The wine selection is extensive. There are a few reasonable per glass options in a $10-$15 range. We tried the sushi (did not expect sushi on the menu). It was fine

Absolutely stunning view, has to be one of the best in all of Portland but the food was poor and unfortunately I don't remember it always being that way. I use to come to Portland annually and stopping here for drinks and a sunset was always a must. I don't know if they changed chefs or tightened their budget on the menu since Covid but it was fairly disappointing. The calamari tasted like orange chicken from Panda which there is a time and a place for. This was not supposed to be that tie and place. Also, my card was charged twice for the exact same amount which I only realized about

We went here for New Year's Eve dinner. Our waiter was really on it, he was consistent with checking in on us. The atmosphere was great, as well as the view.
The drinks were sooooo well made. The tuna ahi appetizer was so good. The rack of lamb and king salmon was amazing. The flavors were melting ON MY TONGUEEE!!

Idk if I’ve changed or if Portland city grill has changed hahaha but I used to think it was the height of luxury and now it’s just a solid place to bring your dad. They do what they do well, but it leaves something to be desired. I think I prefer a cocktails and appetizers night here compared to a full dinner. Dinner is overpriced and just OK.
That being said, we came here for Christmas Eve with my partner’s family as is their Christmas Eve tradition and everyone was so nice. Our waiter was great, the hostess was great. Things were pretty quick and well timed. Drinks came fast. I hope everyone

What a difference a change in ownership makes- Food wise. The spicy tuna roll was delicious and really spicy! I loved my dirty martini featuring botanist gin. The new owner is nationwide Landry's and they have hired a new chef too. It was noticeable in the appearance of the menu and website. Something new and uplifting! Can't wait to come back to try the dinner menu. Views of the city are unforgettable.

Good food. Went to a work party and was seated at the chef's table. Had to go through the kitchen to get to a room that has windows all around. Nice view. Wish it wasn't wet out. But still nice. There were about 10 of us in our party. I got the rack of lamb which was delicious. Also has the bourbon bread pudding and clam chowder. All of it was delicious. Waiter was great. Bathrooms were on the meh side but they were busy that night and I'm sure it was hard to keep up with it. I'd come here again.

Our waitress was very friendly but there were long gaps in checking in, most notably when we were ready to leave. The food is good but not great. The Kung Pao calamari is interesting and worth trying. The Wagyu steak is good and was done exactly right. The seared ahi appetizer was not very good compared to most places. For the price the food is not a great value, but it does have very good atmosphere and awesome views.

I went on a last minute solo trip to Portland in August for my 25th birthday. I am so happy I found this place. The food was outstanding and I still think about the creme brûlée to this day. I can't even explain the ambiance here-- a view of the city and the dim lights, beautiful music in the background... Plus the customer service..? Amazing. This is the perfect date night spot for your special someone and definitely a place to check out if you're in the city for a few days. I believe my servers name was Sean. He was great! I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

Great place for a cocktail and appetizers. I've been here a couple of times and each time the food was good. I have not visited for a while since COVID.
The views of Portland from this restaurant is by far the best. If you can get a table seat by the window the setting is perfect.
Try to make a reservation, happy hours are typically busy!

We came here for our last dinner before leaving after hearing about the views, and man were the views worth it! I think we came a little too early for sunset since we didn't want to miss our flight, but I can only imagine how pretty it'd be. We didn't have reservations so we were seated on the bar half of the restaurant - I think the reservation half of the restaurant has a different angle of the city as well.
As for the food, it was pretty good! It's not the best I've had, but I think the price point is also paying for the beautiful views. The cocktail shrimp was delicious

I came here for a birthday dinner with parties of five. We wanted window seats but it seemed like all their window seats were for parties under four.
We ordered two entrees: Kung pao calamari and coconut prawns
4 entrees: Salmon w/ lemon & thyme, braised beef short ribs, center cut filet and a wagyu rib-eye
The wagyu beef didn't taste like a tender wagyu taste to its. Although it was more flavorful than the center filet. Coconut prawns was okay. (I don't think it was worth it for it's priced since it tasted ordinary) I preferred the Kung pao calamari over it since it had more

While they do give you the option of making a reservation, seating with a view is a first come, first serve basis - just depends on what is available.
My parents and I opted for a close-ish table with a limited view. With that said, we shared the following:
-crab cakes ($23): Dungeness and snow crab with bail-Dijon butter sauce
-pan seared fennel crusted king salmon ($45): market fresh over roasted vegetables, crème fraiche, pickled mustard seed
-cioppino ($39): Dungeness crab, halibut, calamari, prawns, and scallops - comes with toast topped with a scoop of feta (?) cheese
Everything was

We had an amazing waiter and the food was SOOOO GREAT! I highly recommend the Kung Pao Calimari!!! I LOVED THAT SO MUCH!!! Make sure to make a reservation via Open Table and they validate parking on the parking garage directly below the restaurant. It is located at the top floor and the elevators don't open before 4PM.

It was a really great experience! Great view of Portland, great service, food was delicious as well! We had a few drinks with out meal and they were really well made! I think the only complaint I have is that we were seated very close to other guests. It made talking with my dinner date kind of awkward. However I am looking forward to going again!

I made a reservation a month and a half in advance for my first trip to Portland in years. It was my husband's first time in town and I was showing him around my old favorite spots. Unfortunately this time around I had a bad experience at Portland City Grill.
In my reservation notes I mentioned I would like a window seat. As soon as we got there the host took us to a table that was far away from the windows. I inquired about the window seats that were open and the host flippantly stated "the window seats have about an hour and 40 minute wait."
My jaw dropped. How was there such

We made our reservation via Open Table. Window tables are not guaranteed. All kinds of people were seated in those window tables. We unfortunately didn't get a window table. However, at least, five window tables were vacated during the course of our meal. Maybe we should have asked if we could wait to get a window table.
Coming from the elevator, the hallway was very dark and oppressive. The dining area we were in was not any better. We had soaring views of many buildings, but the decor made us feel like we were still stuck in the ground, with heavy wooden beams above us and dark stone

We came in on fifth Avenue and took the elevator to the restaurant on the 30th floor. Tables were socially distant and staff were wearing masks. We had a romantic booth with a Portland city view. Our waitress was on point, service was impeccable.
There was lovely menu , very hard to choose between the short ribs, cioppino, Jambalaya or yellow fin nicoise. My short ribs were marinated with the sweet ginger and slow cooked with house mashed potatoes and curry carrot purée. My husband's cioppino was prepared with halibut, calamari, shrimp, scallops & Dungeness crab on top with toast

The absolute best sky-line in the Portland area with a 360° view (if you get up and walk around that is). What makes it even better is that they actually serve great food and cocktails. If you're visiting during the pandemic make sure to use Open Table to secure a reservation as they wanna make sure they have proper staffing to support those guests.
Enjoy several cocktails by the window and if lucky like us, catch the sun creep through the clouds for a little bit. Pictures through the glass just don't do it justice.

To be very honest, I came here expected to be disappointed or feeling meh afterwards at best because how special can an American steakhouse be? I couldn't be more wrong.
We had a blast dining here last night for a birthday celebration. Reserving a table was easy through their website. We're promptly seated even when we arrived a little early and they managed to find a nice window for us so we can catch the sunset with our meal. It's actually extra nice with the limited capacity, the atmosphere was jovial and peaceful at the same time.
Our waiter was super attentive, making sure
