Lineage
The foundation of LINEAGE was built around family get togethers, celebrating the diversity of natural ingredients and a cooking style that embodies Maui cuisine. The impressive culinary duo of Chefs Emmanuel Eng and Nelson Simpliciano bring creativity and family traditions to the restaurant with innovative Asian-American cuisine.

Our mission is to honor our Lineage by serving exceptional food made with quality local ingredients with local style hospitality and aloha. Emmanuel Eng, known to his friends as "Eman, " was born in Portland, Oregon to Chinese parents from Hong Kong and Mainland China. As a child, he enjoyed discovering his family's pantry full of Chinese ingredients, such as star anise, sichuan peppercorns, dried orange peel, and a multitude of soy sauces.
Services
In this podcast Melanie talks about what the past year has been like for Lineage, the challenges restaurants face with 50% capacity limits, how the island labor shortage has affected restaurants, the introduction of the two new Executive Chefs for Lineage. Most people come here for the Korean fried chicken, but the crispy shrimp and scallop toast, honey garlic shrimp, and garlic Szechuan noodles are standouts too.

Good food! We made reservations 2 weeks in advance for a Sunday dinner. Waiters were prompt and friendly. While we noticed all the surrounding tables were ordering fried rice or fried chicken, we weren't exactly feeling it so went the route of fish and noodles. The Fish from Local Waters (priced based on market) was $75, but was pretty good! They asked us to choose between XO sauce or a truffle based sauce, and went with XO (which we were glad we did)! The Garlic Szechuan noodles were a good pairing when eating the whole fish. The whole fish was a lot for two people but since we didn&apos

Lineage was good. Very good. Highly recommend going with more than 2 people so you can truly eat family style. Love the cucumber salad. Chocolate ice cream is amazing!

We had the grilled tako, crab fried rice, the crispy noodles with mushroom gravy, and the mapo pork. All dishes were delicious - the octopus paired very nicely with the potatoes, mushroom gravy may have been my favorite vegan dish ever, the fried rice had lots of crab, and the mapo pork inspired me to try making Chinese-inspired Italian dishes at home. I wish we had gone with more people so that we could have tried more dishes!

Absolutely phenomenal.
Incredibly innovative, fresh, unique, generous portions and Big Bang for your buck. Ultra high end farm to table . Beautiful atmosphere and fabulous service. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.

One of the best restaurants I went to when I was in Maui. The service was great and It was hard to get a reservation cause they were all filled up, but we made a reservation for 2 called them if they can do 3, and they were able to, which was nice. The food and the alcohol was amazing.

These are the items we got, and that are worth getting!
Korean Fried Chicken:
Housemade seasonal pickles. Choice of kochujang glaze with peanuts or jalapeno- garlic finadene.

Wagyu Kalbi Short Rib:
Roasted bone marrow, garlic rice, seasonal vegetables, "kudeesh" finadene

Charred Tako & Crushed

Hidden gem near resorts. We had no reservations, showed our vaccine cards with ID and they sat us at the bar . We loved the ahi salad and the lobster noodles were to die for! The plates our sharable but I secretly wished I had my own plate of noodles haha. Next time.

Prices were $$$ but worth it!

My boyfriend and I dined here on New Years Eve. I had booked the reservation the same time I booked our vacation to Maui. Our server Joey was great. I appreciated that he advised us that we may have over ordered but We (BF and I) couldn't help it. I suffer from a bad case of FOMO. So I wanted to try as much as I could. Everything we ordered was delicious including the Szechuan garlic noodles not pictured. I highly recommend if you are staying in Wailea or Kihei.

Good food and location. The highlight was the excellent service we got from our waiter. This place does get very busy so a reservation is highly recommended. The menu keeps changing as well which is nice as well.

Superb! This will be a dinner to remember. Let me say right up front - make reservations and make them for earlier in the evening. Some of the menu items are limited quantities and you don't want to miss out.
Joshua, our waiter for the evening, orchestrated our dining experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable. Joshua's drink and menu item descriptions along with recommendations were outstanding.
Lineage's cocktails are some of the best examples of modern mixology with a very large selection - there should be something for everyone. I'm an old fashion nut (the drink not the era) and for too

Hard to review for a 2nd time when the restaurant calls and cancels our reservation out of the blue. Unprofessional to say the least to blame lack of organization on Covid, when they clearly could adjust their scheduling to accommodate the new seating requirements for Maui.

Not going to go out of my way to spend hundreds on a dinner for a place this out of touch with customer experience and common decency.

The people from the restaurant were rude, dismissive and it's frustrating after planning our vacation, to be told we had nowhere to eat last minute. Management can and should feel free

The food is really delicious, flavorful, and unique. I particularly enjoyed the black sesame hummus and the fried chicken. I also really liked the drink options, although I can't remember what mine was called.

This was really good! I give it 4 stars instead or 5 because I personally really loved 2 of the dishes we got, but was meh on the other two.

Loved: Crispy Shrimp & Scallop Toast - this was small but delicious and super unique. Crispy but not painfully crispy.
Loved: Wagyu Kalbi Short Rib - this was really good and actually felt like an experience with several components that were all very good. The bone marrow is a tiny portion but still, very good.

Okay: Korean Fried Chicken - huge portion and well cooked, it was juicy. But it was just chicken, nothing super unique in my opinion. The

I was very excited to come here as I had read about the link to Sheldon from Top Chef. Made reservations and we were sat promptly at the appropriate time. I don't love that the outdoor seating is basically in a walkway next to the shops but the noise level was ok.

Our waiter was friendly and gave good recommendations. We ordered the smashed cucumber and peanut salad (very good) and the shrimp and scallop toast to start. Our toast never arrived and by the time I had an opportunity to catch a waiter's attention to ask about it, our main entrée arrived. It was good, but basically

Lineage is a good dinner spot in Wailea. The restaurant gets pretty packed so reservations are recommended. They also take walk-ins. We did a walk-in to the restaurant and got seated at the bar. They have both outdoor and indoor seating.

We tried the Ahi Poke & One-Ton Salad for our appetizer. The Poke was fresh and the salad was filling. For the main course, we had the Korean fried chicken. It comes with a kochujang glaze with peanuts or jalapeno- garlic finadene. They only have limited number of these daily so it's recommend you order this dish early on. The portion sizes are large

If I was writing a review solely based on the food we ordered I'd bump it up to a 4, but the service was by far the worst we experienced while in Maui. Such a bummer, because we heard from friends that this was one of their favorite restaurants they visited!

We had a Saturday night dinner reservation. I'm sure they were extra busy because it was a Saturday. However, over 20 minutes passed and we still weren't seated or given an estimate of when we'd be seated.

We asked for an update and the hostess didn't acknowledge they were well past our reservation time, and just

We were lucky to get a table here as a walk in due to a cancellation. SO HAPPY we ate here! The service was absolutely top notch - our server was attentive, funny and made the meal that much better.

Drinks - we all loved our choices. My friend is pregnant and they had amazing non alcoholic options that are very unique, not just your typical virgin pina colada. She got the Moon on the Sea which was sooo good.

Auntie Kine Tings - my favorite drink while we were in Maui. Sake, ume, ginger liqueur and miso!? Wasn't sure how it would taste but it was amazing.

Makule Kiawe - the smoke added

My friend and I wanted to end our Maui trip with a nice dinner. I found this place while I was researching and I am SO glad I did! I made reservations a few days beforehand for 5:30pm and we were seated promptly. We had outdoor seating but it was 90 degrees that day and the bar was completely open so we decided to switch it up! Our bartender was so nice and attentive!

We ordered the garlic noodles and their special that night - bossam! Both things were absolutely amazing. The garlic noodles had the perfect chewy noodle texture and had a nostalgic ramen flavor in a good way! It had a mild Szechuan

Food
Grilled Kampachi
Crispy cauliflower and sweet plum sauce (Vegan)
Sweet potato ice cream (Ube)

Drinks
Jabutilicious cocktail
Seasonal MBC rice lager

Food is served family style with no sides, but you can get a side of rice. The grilled Kampachi was delicious but a little on the pricier side. Our server did say that the Korean fried chicken is the more popular dish. However if you like fish you have to try the Kampachi
The cauliflower was also very tasteful and both were split between 3 adults. Probably would've tried something other than Sweet potato ice cream but I didn't realize

Lineage was my top dinner when we visited Maui. I'm so glad I got reservations! We ordered the crunchy shrimp & scallop toast, charred tako with potato, wagyu kalbi short rib, and garlic szechuan noodles (less spicy for my fiance).

Everything was amazing but the stand out dish was for SURE the wagyu kalbi short rib. It seems like a small portion of beef but I appreciated the huge bone marrow that came in it. You're supposed to mix the bone marrow with the garlic rice to make it "bone marrow rice," but I ended up taking a 1/3 of it and eating it with the short rib. It was

We were lucky to be able to try out this place since we heard so much about Chef Sheldon Simeon's new restaurant. We were on the waiting list for two days and luckily Melanie helped us grab a table since we were leaving the island. The food was to die for. The fried chicken was a signature dish that I definitely recommend and would consider it in my opinion the best I have yet tried. The garlic shrimp and snow peas were another dish that was delicious. The texture and flavor was spot on and wasn't overbearing like a lot of restaurants tend to do when they create their own garlic shrimp dish. The
