Pho & Cafe Viet Huong
We have some of the tastiest soups, bubble drinks and banh mi (Vietnamese hoagies) the city has to offer. Stop into the attached bakery for gooey sweets and fun Asian candies as well as sandwiches and traditional meats available to go. If you are craving authentic Vietnamese hoagies or pho you should add us to your list.

Viet Huong stands up among the best pho shops and authentic mean banh mi in the city. We always have fast, friendly service and always have tables available for you and your party. Seriously, next time you find yourself in the neighborhood and facing down the crowds at some of the other Vietnamese spots on Washington Avenue, give us a try.
Services
Pho & Cafe Viet Huong also known as Viet Huong Restaurant, is located near the Hung Vuong supermarket plaza, at 1100 Washington Avenue in Philadelphia. My Vietnamese friend and I stopped in on a Friday around 8 PM, which was surprisingly empty (people seemed to prefer dining after 8:45 PM at this place).

Top notch food & all of your favorite dishes, but there is either a language barrier, or the service is just poor. I had broken rice with shrimp. I asked for the egg cake, omlette, egg with the black fungus, I made a rectangle with my hands. I received a sunny-side up egg. I asked for peanut sauce, then peanuts. After 3 or 4 trips I had every kind of fish sauce, but no peanuts. Finally tols they don't have any. Huh? My friend had traditional Pho. Like I say, the food is great and I know I am white. Only know a few words. Bring a translator, you might have more luck.

Ordered take-out from here a few days ago and was really impressed. I used to always go next door to the other popular restaurant but after an awful food experience there I decided to give this place another shot and it did not disappoint! I ordered the charbroiled pork vermicelli and my husband got the lemongrass chicken over rice. The food took about 25-30 mins because everything was made to order. The flavors were on point, portions were huge and the ingredients were really fresh. I find that they do stir fry, rice dishes and vermicelli dishes really well here. I'm not a fan of their brothy

Great Pho from a place that I had previously walked right by, because it appears to be in a older almost warehouse-like building and can easily be missed.
I ordered the Pho Ga My (white meat chicken) to-go. When I brought the bag home, I was so pleasantly surprised to see the way they had packaged my Pho. The broth was in a tall plastic container, the vermicelli noodles, chicken, scallions and onions were in a styrofoam container, and the basil, bean sprouts and jalapeño peppers were in a clear plastic bag. It was perfection to put my Pho together. So tasty and and the broth was still very hot

Viet Huong is absolutely one of the best Viet places in the city. I'm pissed I slept on it for so long. You cannot beat their $6.50 Banh Mi, the bread is PERFECT. Also the Vermicelli dishes are packed with protein and also pretty cheap.

10/10. Will be hitting up for Banh Mi and Vermicelli again.

Ordered pho to pick up. Was eating pho with family, found rubber band in the soup. Called the place to tell them about it so next time it wouldn't happen. They denied and said they didn't know what I was talking about. Disappointed at the customer service and the way food was given.

This place is great. I've been coming here since I first moved to Philly and have had many different dishes and have seen the wait staff change while a couple stay the same.
The sour soup with catfish is one of my favorite things. I always ask them to add shrimp for that extra flavor. Never disappoints! I also plan accordingly because this dish has a lot of sugar and makes me feel sleepy 😴. So don't plan on going to work if this is your meal!

If I can rate this a 0 star I would. I am not the one to normally complain but this has to be one of the worse experiences ever. Absolutely disgusting!!!! Selling old, spoiled, molded desserts. If you ever decide to buy from them, please do yourself a favor and ask them how long was the pastries and desserts left out for. Also, ask them how fresh was everything made. I highly advise for you all to inspect your food especially, their pre-packaged desserts and everything else before buying or eating. I bought a coconut banana dessert that was completely covered in white, furry mold!! Didn't

They served authentic Vietnamese dishes, especially banh cuon, traditional Vietnamese rice roll cakes. It's very laborious dish, I wouldn't make it at home, so I get it whenever we eat out. It literally gluten free if you eat it with soy sauce or fish sauce by itself.

I usually swing by Pho & Cafe Viet Huong to grab some banh mi from the cafe whenever I'm done shopping over at Hung Vuong.

The cafe itself has a variety of vietnamese pre-packaged food and drinks and is always an easy go-to for a quick snack or meal. The customer service is pretty good and it doesn't take too long for them to make you fresh banh mi.

The restaurant portion is good as well. I usually get either pho, bun bun hue, bun mam or canh chua ca. The portions are more than enough. I haven't had anything here that I didn't enjoy and the customer service in the restaurant

This is the one spot that my family keeps coming back to when we are in the area. The food here is pretty authentic coming from a family that cooks Vietnamese food on the daily so we are pretty critical how certain things are made to taste. The Pho here is good and they give you a generous portion for the price. We always order stuff to go and they prove a lot of fresh veggies too! But there is a shop in front where they sell other Vietnamese goodies which are all yummy as well but there's no pricing on anything lol. You basically have to ask the lady at the register. And when she rings you

A person like me, who is always on the go, is all for convenience. So when I do get a chance, I like to squeeze my time here and grab some goodies. Most of the time, items are fully stocked. From prefix meals to savory or sweet treats and drinks.

I enjoy their Traditional Banh Mi's. Nothing too crazy nor basic, but their cold cuts are a lot better than most. Plus a dash of soy sauce gives it a little more flavor. Customer service is good and plus they take cards with $10 minimum. Parking is available in the plaza or off street parking. Depending on the time or day, it can get overly congested

This place WAS a gem back in the day. Now it's just mediocre service with decent "ok" Vietnamese food. And I know what to expect from Vietnamese service but this one was just lacking in all areas of common sense. So frustrating.

Food was 3/5. Spring rolls were fine, more wrapper than anything else. The peanut sauce didn't taste like there were any peanuts in it. My soup was ok. But my friend's soup the bun bo hue literally had no spicy taste to it nor much of the traditional red color to the soup dish. This place is great that it has many choices but everything is just

I always order Com bì cha every time I come , this time is bad luck days, looks like the rice is not perfect cooked , it is kind of hard like 80% cooked or dry cooked, if I know this is the new way of harden rice I won't eat anything with rice again, I only love fully cooked rice for my meals only.
Staffs and services are always excellent so I still love dining here as always
Maybe the chef is something wrong today to serve rice this bad , he should be warning of this

I went to this place several times. I usually get the Beef ball noodle soup ($8.95) which I really like. I've also had Spring Roll, but I didn't quite like it. I think there are more veggie/noodle in the spring roll and not so much meat.
This time around I ordered a Bo Luc Lac which is Beef Cube ($11.50), and I really like it. Some of the beef are still chewy because they cook it medium instead of well-done.

Terrible.
I was charged for chicken pho and I only received broth. When I called to ask if I could get THE REST OF THE MEAL I PAID FOR, I was hung up on.
Very unprofessional and a total waste of my time.
Do not go here.

This is a great place to go for on a budget. The food is decent and authentic and the prices are extremely reasonable. The service is actually pretty good too. Things come out quick (most Vietnamese places tend to be fast), and they come and check up and you and make sure things are to our liking.

I don't come here as often as I used to do as I have other favorite Vietnamese places, but when I want some really cheap eats, this is the place.

Amazing and authentic Vietnamese food! I took if for takeout so my picture is at a park bench, not the restaurant. The food pictured is one of the Pho soups and some sort of beef rice noodle dish. Both are phenomenal. Wouldn't go anywhere else for Vietnamese food after going here.

So upset!
I stopped by earlier for banh tai yn and chè táo xoan . Banh tai yen is great!

Che is rotten! For it to be rotten god knows how long it has been sitting there. It has the terrible smell the moment I opened it. I was craving for some che and now I just paid for something I can't even eat! I'm so disappointed because I went out of my way in the cold to get it and now I'm home still craving!

Walked in on a Saturday afternoon with a party of 11 which they were able to easily accommodate.

The food:
1. beef pho - The broth was everything. Its so rich and delicious!
2. porkchop with broken rice - The porkchop was so tender and well-marinated. We almost ordered a 2nd for take home.
3. Summer rolls - I always order summer rolls at a viet restaurant and these were so yum!
4. Spring rolls - not the best I've had. Just felt the filling was a little bland.
5. Combination appetizer platter - probably our least favorite dish we ordered.

Overall, food was amazing, service was quick

Decent place and decent food. I had chicken with vegetables, coconut and peanuts and my kid had a tofu banh mi. My food tasted good but it was very padded with vegetables with not so much chicken. It would have been nice to have had a few more pieces of chicken to balance out the dish. I had a bit of my daughter's sandwich and it was adequate but tasted really sweet. We also had fried wontons which were a little over-fried. The food was adequate and if I lived around that area I'm sure I would get it for take out but I won't be going out of my way to eat here.

This is hands down my go to for consistent, cheap takeout. No joke, I'm talking once a week!! I could live off the shrimp and pork summer rolls, and the charbroiled pork summer rolls are wonderful, too.

I've had a range of the bun (vermicelli noodle bowls) here and have never been disappointed with the preparation or flavor. Which is saying something considering I get takeout, and I think some places get a little sloppy when they know you won't see the food until you get home. Definitely try the pork with crispy spring roll or lemongrass beef!

The food is so good! Very flavorful.
The service was fast on that weekend afternoon.
I ordered the Grilled pork and crispy spring rolls on vermicelli. topped w. bean sprout, lettuce, herb, cucumber & crushed peanuts. The portions are huge.
And for $8-$9, in my opinion, it was worth it.

I'm definitely going there again and ordering the same thing. haha.

After three visits Pho & Café Viet Huong gives the impression of being a Vietnamese diner. A broad menu and very reasonable prices, but nothing all that impressive coming from the kitchen.

Last night I tried the Chicken with Rice in Lemongrass Sauce. It was described as being spicy, but wasn't. The Chicken was overcooked and dry, and the Lemongrass flavor weak. The only veggies were Green Peppers and Onions cut large. The Rice was fine, but I did not use much for sopping up the sauce as it was just not worth the calories.

In the recent past, I have tried the Pho. It was adequate
