Their happy hour menu was amazing and super diverse. So tips on the food (aka the good stuff)
- Chili mango margarita (not on happy hour. I hope you like spice because holy fire)
- Cucumber salad (surprisingly a lot more romaine lettuce than I would have expected, but overall good flavor)
- Autumn rolls (totally not what I expected, flat pancake-like but greattt flavor)
- Thung Tong (pumpkin and potato with mild curry. A crispy little pouch with a fantastic filling)

Came here a few years ago during restaurant week and wasn't impressed, but decided to give it another shot after a friend came here for happy hour. SO, so glad that I decided to try again because we had an amazing happy hour experience! We each got the cocktail of the day, and it was great - strong without tasting strong at all. Our waiter was also kind enough to offer any adjustments to the drink if we needed it.

I've visited this restaurant a couple of times for happy hour. They have a great happy hour menu because the food they serve can be pretty filling and the drinks are a good price as well. It's pretty empty for the entire HH so you don't have to worry about getting a seat. If you pay in cash there will be a discount. I think the food is pretty good but then again I've only ever had food from the happy hour menu so I'm assuming for dinner the food is also good.

One of my new favorite places for happy hour! We had reservations on a Friday afternoon for happy hour. We were seated immediately indoors, but they do have both indoor and outdoor seating.
They have an extensive happy hour menu which is amazing! We ordered both the Po Pia Koong (shrimp spring rolls) and Autumn rolls (vegetable rolls), which were both delicious. We tried the Massaman and Roti which was extremely flavorful - highly recommend. My two favorites were the Somtam and Spicy Basil Vegetable Fried Rice. The Somtam is a papaya salad that is refreshing and has the perfect amount of acidity

Worst Thai food I ever got, if you can call this Thai food.
The veg pad Thai taste like nothing with no flavor at all, with one piece of carrot root. And when I say no flavor I mean literally even no salt.
That stir fry is totally Americanized. No basil and no fish sauce taste. Lots of red onion and broccoli????????with ton of liquid under it, if you don’t tell me it’s a Thai dish I would’ve imagine it’s from some random Chinese take away.
Papaya salad seasoning is ok, consumable.
Conclusion. A non Thai like Thai restaurant, please avoid.

Awesome Thai experience in center city! We enjoyed a feast of happy hour treats, soup, salad, spring rolls, tender pork skewers, curry with roti bread, and a delicious lamb entree! Very reasonable prices and a great happy hour menu with lots to choose. Parking is a challenge but there are convenient parking garages within a block. Oh, and service was friendly & quick by Yang.

Salmon and shrimp cakes were delicious. Perfect blend of flavor! The Tom Yum soup was pretty good, flavorful and really hit the spot. For an entree I had the scallop and shrimp dish, the scallops were perfect, shrimp was little over cooked. Husband had the braised short rib red curry, he said it was 8 out of 10. The cabbage was little under cooked and too big.

For example, he was not able to bring us drinks or give us our check, but gave us abrupt answers of "no, I can't do that," without asking for another server. I imagine they could be very understaffed here, but the behavior felt a bit rushed.

I cannot wait to come back for happy hour + dinner! My friend and I stopped here late Saturday night and had a great experience. Very big and clean inside with beautiful decor.
Service was great and the food was outstanding. My friend ordered the tofu pad Thai, which had a generous portion and extremely flavorful. I ordered the chicken Tom yum soup and loved the lemongrass broth and veggies inside. It was a perfect dish on a chilly evening.
I will be back and forth I'll be trying the pad see ew and a few apps next time!

This place blew me away. There are plenty of places to get great Thai food but the attentiveness of this place, the staff, the food, the cocktails are fantastic.
The menu first and foremost is incredibly organized and thoughtfully created which made finding something I really wanted to try effortless.
The cocktails were amazing and can't say you would go wrong ordering any of them.

Great food and great staff to compliment it. Went out on a Saturday night with a group of 10 friends and the restaurant wasn’t too crowded. Our waiter’s name was Jason and he was super helpful and nice. We ordered both vegan options and meat options. We had Vegan Pad Thai, Chicken pad Thai, pad kra prao, spicy basil veggie fried rice, eggless fried rice, pad kee mao kai, autumn rolls, chicken satay, kang singhol kaea, thang wa(shrimp). All the food was well presented and came in nice, large portions. The overall experience at the restaurant was great.

The vegetarian options at Chatayee were plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed the massaman curry with roti and the thung tong... something different than what I've experienced at Thai restaurants (veg options wise) yet highly flavorful and delicious! The pad kee mao was also phenomenal. Spice levels were on-point... actually spicy yaaaas! The only thing I'd suggest for a bit of improvement was more options for dessert. Staffing was also very short the day we went so service was quite slow but the quality of the food made up for it!

Probably one of the best and most unique thai restaurants I have been to. From the decor/ambiance to the selection of food is totally game changer with playful flavors. I encourage those who love thai food who want to try a larger menu with variety of curry pairings. unique appetizers to check this place out.
I loved the roti and the curry and I got the short ribs curry. It was so so good. I am so curious as to the other foods. I am excited to be back to review and try other things.

I have done so much research about the restaurants where we can have an upscale dining experience, which also serve vegans and others alike and Chatayee Thai came as my top pick. I am so glad I chose it right as I had many disappointing experiences in Philadelphia downtown, prior to trying this place. It seems like the downtown does not have much good options for Thai food.

Delicious, delicious Thai food that's unique and not like all the other Thai food around. The fact that they even have a vegan menu is AMAZING. I haven't been here in person since I got to-go, but even to-go, I was in love. The massaman and roti are to die for. The massaman curry is probably my favorite and love that it's a little thicker. The Larb Hed is a fresh, sharp mushroom salad that is just a beautiful blend of all flavors and a great starter. The Pad Kra Pao Hed, however, was my favorite, and I'm just dying to get this dish again!

Absolutely LOVE this place!! It’s so delicious. I came here for the second time last night but this time I brought my family because they were craving great Thai food so I told them this was the place to go to! They couldn’t stop raving about how good their cocktails, appetizers, and entrees were. We also loved the staff that works at this restaurant! Really kind and personable people. The only hiccup was when I ordered the happy hour Yards Pale Ale, and it came out very flat. But I brought it to the server's attention, and the server rectified the issue and his service was 10/10.

Chatayee Thai is located in a very good, centralized area in center city Philly. It's a pretty decent restaurant! A couple of friends and I came here for dinner on a certain night. We sat outside since we felt safer since COVID was around, but also weather was nice. There was also a live musician playing, so that was pretty cool!

A friend of mine loves this place and invited me here for dinner. She comes often for happy hour and highly recommended it. After my visit, I have to agree. I will definitely be back! We decided to keep our annual end of year birthday dinner for our friend despite Covid. We decided on this place, and were happy we did. I had the salmon, my friends all had shrimp pad Thai, a lamb dish, and fried veggie rice(she’s very simple but picky and she loved it!) we all enjoyed our food.
