Vedge
A Vegetable Restaurant by James Beard nominated Chefs Rich Landau and Kate Jacoby, Vedge offers an exciting dining experience inspired by seasonal vegetables since 2011. Housed in the historic Tiger Building in Center City Philadelphia, the elegant brownstone home is an intimate setting for inventive vegetable cooking.

The Bar features natural wines, craft beers and a creative cocktail list, all selected to compliment the wide range of tastes through the dinner and dessert menus. Vedge currently serves dinner 5 nights a week. We look forward to serving you! While we have some signature dishes, the menus change throughout the year with the seasons.
Services
We are currently serving dinner Tuesday through Saturday beginning at 5pm. Please note that per City of Philadelphia ordinance, PROOF OF VACCINE IS REQUIRED for all diners and SEATING TIME IS LIMITED TO 90 MINUTES. Anyone unable or uncomfortable providing such is welcome to order carryout through our website or book at another time in the (hopefully near) future when the mandate is lifted.

My husband and I just had the most amazing dinner at Vedge! Every single item that we ordered from their expertly designed menu was simply incredible -- from the deliciously creative cocktails to the scrumptiously decadent desserts. A huge thank-you to our wonderful server, Julie. She was so attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming; making just the perfect suggestions and recommendations. A superlative dining experience! Definitely the highlight of our visit to Philadelphia.

Amazing Vegan Dining Experience. Great service and food. Small plates concept and I do recommend 2-3 plates per person. Plenty of options for drinks. They do require proof of vaccination for dining so make sure you have a screenshot or photo of your vaccination card along with your id. 4 of us ordered 11 items which ended up being more than sufficient.
Our recommendations:
Dan Dan Noodles
Eggplant Braciole
Fried Tofu
Wood Roasted Carrot
Rutuba Fondue
Stuffed Avocado
Fingerling potatoes

Absolutely superior vegetarian food! Sauces make simple food superb. The desserts so rich - a bite or two will do. Definitely recommend!

THE BEST VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT IN THE CITY! Amazing vibe and great drinks too. The perfect date night spot or place to celebrate a special occasion. I've taken meat eaters here and they all leave satisfied and surprised at how great veggies can taste

I've come here twice and the first time was phenomenal, but this last time we came here, every dish was off, seating was really god awful as close to the door as possible with the winter air coming in everytime someone opened the door. I was going to order 2 dan dan noodles but honestly it was just such low quality I'm really glad my friend stopped me. Every single dish was not worth what we paid for and I'm really disappointed how I have to take this off my Top 10 restaurants list.

Never thought I’ll enjoy this type of food as much as I did. If I could become a vegan, I just need the chef from this place to make all my meals. Spicy Dan Dan noodle is a must try

Very nice experience trying a vegan restaurant in Philly. The setting is old style. The service is great. We have 4 people and ordered everything on their menu. I should say except the Dardanelle noodle, everything else tasted great. It's so flavorful.

Delightful mix of flavors. I enjoyed the variety of tastes and textures. A little mushroom heavy for my taste buds but that's to be expected for a vegan restaurant.

Best vegan fine dinning experience I have ever had! Presentation and flavors were on point! Decent portions as well. I really enjoyed the braised eggplant and the rutabaga fondue! Highly recommend! The mock tails were great as well. Did not disappoint!

I'm not a vegetarian, but definitely a fan!
Ambiance: Wood-paneled cozy restaurant with a bar to wait at. Combination of groups of friends and people on a date night. Wouldn't recommend for dinner with kids or for business dinner.
Service: Excellent. We never felt rushed, and the servers were friendly and fast. Not at all the pretentious reception I expected given the rich liberal crowd.
Food; So again, I'm a big meat eater, so I came almost under duress. But I loved it. I had my doubts about a $13 dish of roast broccoli but it was a real eye-opener. Amazingly flavorful. Also tried

I ordered Dan-Dan noodles and thought per the menu descriptions, that the trumpet mushrooms would act as noodles in the dish. Instead I was served spaghetti with ONE very thinly sliced mushroom (seasoned well) that acted more like a garnish than the main event. As a vegan, the veggies are the highlight of my meals. This was a starchetarian meal that tasted good but isn't what's advertised.

Good but not great. As an omnivore who desires to lower my consumption of meat, I wanted to believe those who advocate that this restaurant is as good as any place that serves meat. In my opinion Vedge is good but not great. They certainly do a great job elevating vegetables to a high culinary level, but ultimately there is as yet no substitute for the flavor of animal products.

My son and I ordered six dishes:

The rhubarb fondue. Creamy a little sweet and savory, Served with a delicious fresh loaf of bread. A definite winner.

The Dan Dan noodles. Tasty and a bit spicy. However similar

Outstanding vegan dining experience far beyond all the vegan burger and bowl chains out there.
Beautiful antike interiour, lovely staff, excellent cuisine with elegant flavours. The 'Fingerling Potatoes' were a little bit too spicy (peruvian chili) but also delicious anyway.
A hungry adult should need to order three of the small plates.
Reservations are easy to make in Google or their website.

I had no idea how this place was going to be before I came, and I am surprisingly so shocked at how delicious the food was. Every single dish me and my friend got last Friday was well balanced and perfect. The server was perfect as well. Extremely timely waiter on refilling water, and collecting our plates, knowing exactly when we were done.

Parking: Street Metered Parking.
Service: Been a long time since I had such great waiting staff for dinner.
Food: Well-balanced, perfect.
Covid: You have to show your Covid vaccination card when you come in.
Would I come here again? Yes and I would recommend

Shockingly good and shockingly filling. I don't want to use the qualifier of 'for vegan food' but sooooo good for vegan food (and so good regardless of being vegan or not!). Spice levels were great, which is usually what I find lacking in vegan food - not this time though.

Some of the dishes might've been a bit one-dimensional (broccoli for one, although it was good!), and maybe a tad bit expensive for vegan food, but really a solid experience and great service. Highly recommend even if not vegan.

WOAH. I've had a lot of extraordinary vegan meals, but this one will go down as one of my of all-time favorites. Absolutely everything was delicious, but the spicy dan dan noodles and the rutabaga fondue were the highlights! Also had peppermint ice cream and the blueberry cheesecake with a side of lavender ice cream - absolutely mind blowing. Best cheesecake I've had in my life! Service was wonderful, drinks were divine, and I can't wait to come back!

I've been to Vedge a few times and to its phenomenal predecessor, Horizons. I like the place, but it just doesn't wow me. It's all good (hence the three stars, which is NOT a bad review in my book), but it's not amazing.

Located inside a lovely old brownstone, make sure to get reservations if you really want to eat here. Otherwise you'll end up waiting for a table or sitting at the bar (which was fine by us).

We got the stuffed avocado ($12) which was an interesting mix of colors and textures, but not more than the sum of its parts. The avocado was straight-up and the

Surprised I haven't reviewed Vedge yet, but after my 5th or 6th time driving down from New York just to go there, I figure I should add to the 5-star reviews on this site.

Place is great. Rarely have had anything we didn't enjoy (except the radish dish from like 2018, my bad, didn't realize I don't love radishes). Rutabaga fondue is the star but the fingerlings, Brussels sprouts, and everything else is fantastic.

I'm going to preface this review by saying the atmosphere and service were wonderful.

I have visited Vedge on a multitude of occasions and I was so excited to return there recently for dinner. The menu was different than I remembered, but we were excited to try a variety of new dishes. Unfortunately, the food was quite different than I had remembered. The food was once so interesting and unique that my husband and I would debate the different flavors and textures - while last night it was debating the strange textures and odd flavors in a displeasing note.

I am sad to say that it didn&apos

First group dining in a very long time. Staff are wearing masks and they encourage you to wear masks any time you are not actively eating. Indoor dining capacity seams to be largely back to normal.

Parking over here is absolutely atrocious especially with all the closed streets for outdoor dining as well as construction so definitely give yourself some leeway. They were nice enough to give us some time past the reservation time for everyone to get there.

This was actually my first time at Vedge so I can't compare to how they were before the pandemic. The food was good, and I guess it&apos

Came here again for indoor dining for the first time before COVID (!!!) and lemme just say...they have not missed a beat! Food: amazing. Service: perfection. Vibe: just right.

We ordered a few rutabaga fondues (will be dreaming of these forever), eggplant braciole, fingerling potatoes, gazpacho, and a few other items. They knew we were celebrating a birthday and brought out a few desserts at the end which was super thoughtful. All the food and drinks were fantastic. The service was also amazing- our server was kind, unobtrusive, but attentive and patient with my parents asking a thousand questions

This time I want to commend the management and staff for their careful attention to strict sanitization and masking protocols which made for a safe and welcoming dining experience for everyone!

Let me preface by the fact that wanted to love this place so much. V street has a special place in my heart, so I was really looking forward to trying Vedge.

We got to the restaurant early, and they were extremely nice in accommodating us although they didn't have any immediate seating available, we were told that they were going to contact us if any table became available sooner. they even gave us a tour of the indoor and outdoor dining areas, in case we changed our mind about outdoor seating.

We started with drinks, we had the Spanish G+T and the sour. They were both pretty tasty, the

So - if you are not a vegetarian, this is a great place to test a restaurant on quality and creativity of their food. I am not a vegetarian personally, and I would 100% go back. Their dishes not only tasted great, but they had sustenance.

The entire vibe at the restaurant is fantastic. Great music, and the service is top notch. Really helpful with navigating the menu and providing drink pairings. Their drink menu is pretty expansive as well.
