Best experience I’ve had dining Philly yet!! The waitress Laura was amazing, and even brought us a lovely little desert at the end for my boyfriend and I on our first big date night in awhile. The food was INSANELY delicious, everything we ordered blew us away. Can’t wait to be back again! ❤️

In town for a medical appointment and wanted something good to eat after a long day. This restaurant was close to our hotel and looked nice from the outside. We were seated promptly. When we received the menus we realized it is "Philly restaurant week" which meant they were featuring a fixed price 3 course menu for $40 person. Actually was a good deal for us.

We tried the paneer quesadilla and the Gobi (cauliflower) as apps. Both were tasty. We had the vegetarian thali and it was presented very pretty with a selection of korma, dal mahkani and paneer with basmati rice and Raita.

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. The atmosphere is very cool- a little fancy despite the incredible prices. The food never disappoints and appetizers are a must. The drink menu is great too. If you like Indian cuisine, you absolutely have to try this place!

Have been here many times for Happy Hour and Dinner and liked it but the brunch was really not great. I ordered the Kati roll and I swear the outside was pita or pita like, not like the traditional paratha. I've had better Kati rolls from street food and fast food restaurants. The chicken tikka was just lacking in flavor. The naan was also subpar. Mimosas clearly had very little alcohol in them. The spinach chaat was good though.

If you read no further, simply know this...VEDA'S AMAZING BECAUSE LAURA IS STUPENDOUS!!! My partner & I attended Veda for Philadelphia's Restaurant Week. I can not say enough about how AMAZING the food was. Okay, so let me take you along the journey with us. We enter the beautiful store front on chestnut street into the restaurant foyer. We're seated and have our order taken a few minutes later. Laura ended up being our waitress and this is where our great night became an unforgettable memory. Despite my partner taking a peek at the menu without me prior to our ordering, Laura

I was looking for a place to eat for restaurant week and was feeling Indian food. I looked up the menu and reviews and I was super excited to try it! The restaurant week menu options looked great and loved they had some fusion in there.
We got the lasooni gobi -- which was like Buffalo cauliflower with an Indian twist. It was prolly the only good thing we had.
The spicy corn soups spice was off and felt like it was made from a can and just some garam masala was added.
For the main course we ordered Malai kofta and mehti chicken. They were both super disappointing and the online restaurant week

I made reservations for this restaurant. They sent me a text letting me know my table was ready, if I wanted to come on in. The food has good flavor. The naan was delicious. The restaurant itself was clean, warm and inviting. Kassandra was our waitress. She was a delight to talk to. She was attentive and made sure we had everything was wanted. I would return to eat here again.

Three words - thali lunch special!

Came here for lunch with some coworkers. Was very pleasantly surprised by the lunch deal. You have a choice of several options and get 5 different plates brought out as once for your meal. I had the spinach paneer which was amazing and the lentils!

Some of my coworkers tried the other dishes and they were equally as delicious. (Not to mention you get to pick a dessert too!) We were amazed by the wait staff and completely full from this meal.

Although I'm a fan of traditional tried and true recipes, I trust Yelp enough to venture outside my comfort zone a little, and this led me to try out the "modern Indian bistro" experience for lunch at Veda. They offer various thalis which offer an assortment of dishes to sample, with dessert and the standards sides of naan/roti & rice included. The chicken makhani was the true hit of my thali...I don't know how they did it, but it was really good with rich flavors that pop without being inundated with spice or butter/cream like most other restaurants. The chana masala was

Went for a last minute dinner on a Friday and were able to secure a table with no wait time. Service was good/attentive. Tried a few drinks but the drunken lassi and autumn tea were a few of my favorites. We ordered samosas and lassoni gobi for appetizers and they were pretty good. Gobi could have been a bit more flavorful. For main course we ordered pala paneer, malai kofta, mushroom korma, lamb rohajosh, and garlic naan. The food was pretty good-- very small portions for the plate though. My favorite was the malai kofta, i didn't enjoy the palak paneer or mushroom korma that much. For dessert

I loved the food here, but I wanted more... Not more from the restaurant more foods it was fantastic! Not sure what you want to get? Order the chef's sampler for lunch, a great value, and you won't be disappointed, it has a little of everything. The food here tastes fresh and blows away some of the Indian food I had in the past.

One of the fine dining restaurants in Philadelphia. The place was very neat and clean including washrooms. The servers were responsive. The food quality was great. We ordered pav bhaji, chole bhature and gulab jamun and mojito.Chole bhature is a must try. I would definitely come back to try main course dishes. I highly recommend this place for every food lover.

I am a big fan of Indian food, and Veda is absolutely no exception. This upscale restaurant is great - with awesome menu options - and I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes! They take reservations, which is a plus as well.

Some odd(ish) rules to be aware of:
-When we walked in, the restaurant was relatively empty and we were told they could not seat our party until everyone was there. I feel like most places that take reservations don't do this. We promised we'd start ordering right away and they did let us sit after we explained the situation.
-They only offer happy

My daughter and I came into the city to see Hamilton (on 10/29) and wanted to find a restaurant close by. We both love Indian food and decided to try Veda. The place is cool with a modern vibe with a large a bar.

The menu has a variety of options for meat and vegetarian eaters. Servers wore mask and gloves while serving. They were pleasant, polite and prompt.

Our drinks was their fall Moscow Mule and daughter had Pellegrino.

Our starters were Veggie Samosa and Goan Crab Cakes. Loved the Samosa's. Daughter wasn't fond of the crab cake but I was ok with it.

I came here on Thursday with a friend for restaurant week around 6pm. I immediately noticed the ikea-like hipster decor and the young diverse staff.

Our waitress recommended the mango lassi but with rum, which ended up being pretty tasty. When you first sip it, you can taste the mango lassi, in the middle the spiced rum, and at the end/after-taste yogurt.

Starters:
Tandoori Lettuce Wraps: Just barely okay, very mediocre and as if we cooked it at home not at a restaurant.

Shrimp Balchao: Great sauce flavor, sweet and yet spicy great blend. I appreciated the quantity of the shrimp, but the texture

Some great food and cocktails in a contemporary setting, definitely going back! 'Old Fashioned Gabbar' was great (they were nice enough to make this custom with Woodford Reserve!). Mirch Murgh Tikka, Fish Peri Peri, Lamb Chops, Gulab Jamun/Ice Cream and Pistachio Ricotta Cheesecake are my top picks 😋

This place was very stylish and the service was fast and friendly.

I tried this place out during restaurant week for lunch and I was not disappointed. I ordered the chicken tikka which was tasty but I was not a fan of how tomato based it was. I've had several other variations that didn't use so much tomato which I prefer.

I would definitely return.

Veda is a stylish and up-to-date Indian bistro on the western side of Center City Philadelphia. It has built a following and is currently offering both indoor and sidewalk dining. I had a decent late lunch there recently which I was pleased with.

My first course was a very tasty Mumbai Lamb Keema Pao. This Bombay dish was well prepared and came with a salad. My main course also hit the spot. It was a Chicken Lababdar. This closely-related-to Chicken Tikka dish only needed a bit of spice to enliven it and a housemade chile sauce accomplished this. But the most superlative item was a dessert

They were really accommodating to me. I just walked in from the street, no reservation but I was alone so they let me sit at the bar. Which was open to the outside so I was sort of inside/outside. I was told the kitchen would be closing in 5 min so I should get my order in if I wanted to eat. I got the lamb chops and a cucumber infused cocktail, both delicious!

This is a unique place.

My wife and I are Indian food connoisseurs. We've had it all over the city.

And there was a lot that we really liked here.

The Paneer Makhani was quite tasty. We really loved the Reshmi Kabob. She really loved the Drunken Lassi. We also sampled the ribs and samosas. We enjoyed everything we ate.

But I would also say that if we are in the city looking for authentic Indian food, this wouldn't be our choice.

It's excellent cuisine. But it's very Americanized. Which is perfectly ok.

Of everything we ate, the Reshmi Kabob was the star for us.

Veda has a great lunch experience. The lunch menu is very small, but that's because the standard item is a delightful sampler. The thalis come with your choice of three curries, a dessert, rice, and bread. It was tasty and filling! I especially liked the chicken vindaloo.

The restaurant ambiance is sleek and hip. The decor is modern, with dimmer lighting and an elegant setup with a large bar. But - at least during lunch - the environment was chill and pretty quiet. Cannot comment how it may be at happy hour or dinner.

Definitely visit for lunch if you want a tasty, good value meal.
