There is clear evidence to support that one's oral health is directly tied to whole-body health. Known as the "oral-systemic" link, bacteria that colonize gum tissues in the mouth have been implicated in more than 57 diseases, including cardiovascular disease, rheumatoid arthritis, kidney and pancreatic cancers, low birth weight and diabetes.
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots made of titanium or zirconia (a strong metal-free ceramic). They are surgically placed under local anesthesia or conscious sedation. After a 3 month healing period, the surgically-placed dental implant undergoes a process called "osseointegration" - this is a process in which your own bone physically attaches to the dental implant.

CariVu is a compact, portable cavity detection device that uses patented transillumination technology to help identify cavities and cracks in teeth. By hugging the tooth and bathing it in safe, near-infrared light, CariVu's transillumination technology makes the enamel appear transparent while porous lesions trap and absorb the light.
Dr. Steven Cordoves completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University in 2003. After five years in general practice Dr. Cordoves returned to NYU to focus on specialized training in implant dentistry. In 2008, he pursued an extensive two-year surgical and prosthetic program in dental implantology at NYU.

A truly predatory dental practice. I've watched my 77 year old mother get taken advantage by this practice time and again over the years, most recently after being diagnosed with breast cancer. She was more stressed by her most recent bill than the cancer diagnosis. I went in for a cleaning and asked about a slightly tweaked front tooth. The recommendation was tens of thousands of dollars worth of orthodontia, veneers and general pain and suffering to lower my bite by a millimeter and add a millimeter with veneers to my lower teeth. This is all to a perfectly healthy mouth with no cavities or complaints

Had a complicated molar removal that was done without stress or pain. Dr. Cordoves made me feel very comfortable and informed throughout the whole procedure. For a person that is always a bit phobic of dentistry this was the most confident I have felt in a long time. Also the office was gorgeous and the equipment state of the art. More technically modern than I have seen at other dentists.

Dr. Gulizio’s hands are like feathers. And this is coming from someone with very sensitive teeth. I have seen him for cosmetic dentistry and the result is above and beyond what I had anticipated. My smile looks perfect, but more than that, it looks natural! You could never tell I have veneers. This is because he uses top quality materials and instrumentation.

Strongly recommend this dental office. The best dental or any kind of health issue solving experience I've ever had! I had some serious work done and the doctors are as nice as can be and professional! The rest of the staff as well.They take the time to explain what's wrong and what's to be done every step of the way. The downside is that I can't use my insurance there, but I hope I don't need to any time soon.

I have been going to Dr Cordoves for 11 years. In the meantime, I moved, and took my cleanings somewhere else - but for anything more serious, I always go back to him. There is no comparison. He is kind, professional, brilliant, and honest. I have recommended him and his partner to several friends, and they all loved them.

Had my old fillings replaced and chipped tooth fixed couldn't be happier. Very easy going except for my teeth am very particular and have taken great care of them. Needless to say I am so excited to have found a dentist that is professional, great staff and a clean modern office. Steve is so calm that it makes it easy to relax and let him do his thing.

I have been with Dr.C forever. I think since 2005? I love this Dentist! The office is clean, modern and relaxing. The staff is very comfortable to talk to. They are up front about cost and help explain what the long term goals are. I have 2 children and live in Brooklyn and they always work around my schedule rather than theirs. I've had Invisalign and teeth whitening done here. They are helping me work through my Invisalign case where most dentists would have thrown their hands up! I can't say enough about them. I've been going here for about two years now and definitely look forward to my visits! I've never had someone spend as much time with me discussing my teeth, my life, etc! Dr. Guilzio and Kellie Kennedy are both amazing and very personable. I feel like they truly care about me and the health of my teeth. We all have adopted dogs and share pictures and stories...how great is that?! Now that I have changed jobs they are not a 'preferred' dentist, so my insurance doesn't cover as much....but I will continue to go here because they are so wonderful!

Dr. Cordoves and his staff are wonderful. There was no wait, and the office is very nice and futuristic looking. The receptionist took care of me quickly, and Dr. Cordoves examined me thoroughly - my wisdom tooth problem was fixed within 24 hours just as he said. He took his time to explain to me what happened and what I will be needing to do in the future.

Dr. Gulizio is far and away the best dentist I have ever been to. He's intelligent, gentle, empathetic, and always keeps the patient fully aware of what's going on and why he's doing what he's doing. It's refreshing to be treated like a human being, to feel cared for, and to be kept informed. The office and his staff, especially Kris at the front, are terrific as well. And who can forget the design of the space? It's inviting, comforting, and relaxing. Highly recommended.

I'm not happy with this dental office. The work Dr. Baston has done seems to be okay, but there are other major problems. The receptionist/biller is inept. She states she has submitted multiple claims when she hasn't: I've checked my insurance companies website weekly and the last time a claim was submitted from this office was in February 2014, I've since had several appointments and 8 procedures. I've provided coding information twice now, after learning they were using improper codes. My appointments have even been canceled without advising me. If I hadn't

I've been going to Dr. Cordoves for 9 years (and had a lot of work done!), and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Staff bends over backwards to make your experience as, um, painless as possible. Always friendly, courteous, respectful, and efficient. Dr. Cordoves always explains exactly what he's going to do and why, constantly checks in to make sure you're comfortable, and does great work. The technology is constantly updated. I've never been more comfortable with a dentist.

I had my first appointment here last week and am a big fan. The office is clean, the staff is professional, caring, and to the point. This may be the first time I don't dread going to the dentist, in all truth. And I have seen quite a few in recent years -- across coasts -- for various work.

I've been seeing Dr. Gulizio for a few years. He is an excellent dentist - really couldn't ask for much better. His staff (from the dental hygienist to the receptionist) are great too. I don't have any particularly complicated dental problems, but I always felt like Dr. Gulizio knows his stuff.
I believe they don't take any dental plans, which is a bit of a nuisance. However, the office will submit the forms as an out of network provider to your insurance company, and I'm usually reimbursed about 80-90% (sometimes even 100%). It's worth it to pay an extra $40 out

Dr. Gulizio and his staff are all wonderful - Regardless of one's position in this office, each person pays great attention to detail and the needs of the patient. Chrissy, the receptionist is personable and prompt in responding to emails, which is a bonus considering most practitioners / offices typically delay or do not return phone calls or respond to email inquiries. The decor in the office is modern and exquisite. From the time I arrived and left from this office, Dr. Gulizio not once rushed any portion of this appointment. Dr.Cordoves and Dr. Gulizio are both highly qualified extremely professional dentists. They have both shown an extraordinary amount of care when working on my teeth. They take time to talk in detail with me about my dental issues I have and they never rush me. They've always made sure I was comfortable in the chair, and I've never felt more at ease. Their office is immaculately clean - and very modern and stylish ! which I really appreciate, being in the design world myself.

I was looking for a dentist because i just moved to NY, i saw the other yelp reviews and decided to give Core Smiles a try . I already knew what i needed to have done and wanted to know the price for getting a permanent cap on my tooth since they offer a FREE consultation it worked out perfectly. The staff was very friendly and patient with me. The dentist was friendly, gentle and extremely informative, he answered all my questions and literally showed me pictures of my tooth; where/ how high the cap would be placed along with the pros and cons. The cost of getting the cap would run me $1900.00

Dr. Cordoves has been my dentist for about 4 years. He and his staff are terrific. They are friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. They listen to each of your concerns, and take their time with each patient. I love not having to wait more than 5 minutes for an appointment.
