Gaspare's Pizza House & Italian Restaurant in San Francisco first opened in 1985. It is owned and operated by Gaspare, Robin & Family. In 2007, Daniel followed in the family footsteps and 0pened and operates our second location Gaspare's Pizzeria Ristorante & Bar in San Rafael. We have great employees who have been with us for many years and are greatly appreciated!
Best pizza in the Bay Area! Homestyle cooking, romantic setting and ambiance. Family style dining at very reasonable prices! We also serve a variety of pasta dishes, veal, chicken, seafood, vegetarian and gluten free dishes. San Rafael and San Francisco menus vary slightly from each other. We are proud to serve the best homemade food and desserts.

I hate giving negative reviews but Im going to be honest. I ordered a few items on the menu, Sunday night I don't want to cook tonight.
I had a veal, chicken and pasta dish.
I wish I didn't have to say this but they were terrible. Chicken Parmesan looked amazing. I took a few bites there was NO seasoning at all. The sauce actually tasted like tomato paste with garlic that was it. No salt, pepper nothing. No basil, or any other Italian seasonings. I ate a few more bites then that was enough. I tasted the veal Milanese again not one speck of seasoning. Just a fried piece of veal that was

I have dined inside once and the service was great and atmosphere even better although I need to admit that when I ordered the same order to go, it was much more pasta than when I ate inside. They do have one of the best fettuccine Alfredo around and THEY ARE NOT OPEN ON CHRISTMAS, even though it says they are.

This neighborhood go-to offers a friendly environment and since COVID, outdoor dining. I've never had a bad meal and, in fact, think the eggplant parmesan is one of the best I know! (The portion is huge and is accompanied by mixed vegetables that are cooked fresh.)
This is a great, casual place to gather with friends and family, or enjoy a dinner for two. The bar seating serves food, too so it's a friendly place to sit if you're alone for a meal.

Gaspare's was flexible to accommodate our large group of 25 for our end of season volleyball team celebration even after our schedule change requests. They set aside their small room for our group. Food was great and came out quickly. Service was friendly and efficient. Everyone enjoyed our celebration at Gaspare's.

I love that this place is locally owned and operated with Marin and SF locations and that one could order food online early, but can pick-up when the restaurant opens, at 4:30 p.m. for a piping hot pick-up! The Italian fare was extensive.
On-line, we ordered a large Hawaiian Pizza to-go online at 2:30 p.m. for a 4:30 p.m. pickup. I also chose a pint of their minestrone soup and a side of garlic bread. The minestrone was bland, with a watery broth with a spattering of spinach, several beans, and perfectly cubed tiny carrots. The minestrone could have easily been from a can, or at least the mixed

Might be my favorite pizza in Marin. Some reminisce of NYC style pizza. It was quite thin but not too thin to fold since it was a small pizza and small slice unlike NYC style where you get a large slice , pizza by the slice style. It wasn't as oily dripping as I like NYC style but did have some nutty tart flavor in the cheese as in adding some fresh Parmesan perhaps to the mozzarella. Not comparing to NYC of course but Gaspare's pizza is most delicious in this area. First time we ate inside the restaurant.
Roger was our nice server, got the drinks out and food in ok timing no rush

I just love gaspare's
Order from here atleast once every other week and I always find their food to be tasty and plentiful.
It's also my go to spot for my birthday! Had it last year and it was scrumptious, so looking forward to it again as always this year!
Just had their pizza tonight for the first time and I'm not the biggest lover of pizza but I'll tell you gaspares is on another level, reminds me of the New York style slices you find at little vendors, so tasty.
My go to is always the veal Milanese with Bolognese spaghetti, belizimo!
Keep doing what you are doing

Food was delicious and service was fabulous! After a long day of hiking we stopped for a quick bite at a different place and saw gaspare's in the distance. Changed plans and had one of the best pizzas we've ever eaten! Light fresh and flavorful!!! Daughter had the fettuccine and was amazed! ( she loves her pasta) Great stop! will be doing this again and again!! Thank you Gaspare's!!

I celebrated my PhD this evening in this fine place. I am glad to say that it was a incredible evening and the venue was surely one of the reasons for the fruitful celebration. The crew helped in a lovely manner, the meals were great and my buddies were very thrilled. We shall surely visit again for more celebrations. Thank you very much.

PRETTY BLAND. Picked up Fettuccine Alfredo and vegetarian lasagna to go. Both flavorless and sloppily thrown together. The annoying part is that on the phone I asked if it came with bread - the guy said no, it doesn't come with anything - so I ordered a side of garlic bread. Well, I pick it up and there's a ton of bread with each entree...so I paid an extra $6 for no reason and ended up with way too much bread on top of bland wet noodles. Don't know if this is their end of the day quality or just their standard.

Decent food but 6 tables in the entire restaurant and we sat there with empty plates in front of us for 20 minutes and no one stops by to see if we need the check. We get up to go to the front ourselves to check out and the manager is standing there like an idiot. No attention to ANYONE! As a manager, get up and go to the SIX tables in the restaurant and ask how things are with the food, etc. This "manager" doesn't know customer service if it slapped him in the face. We spent over $130 on two pasta entrees and a $40 bottle of wine (the wine selection was horrible). Pass up this place

I went here because of the ratings and it did not live up to 4.5 stars. We had Pizza that was 1/2 mushroom and 1/2 cheese. It was greasy and soggy. Mushrooms we're tasty. Not much sauce. We also had spaghetti marinara. There was a seasoning on it that made it a little funky. Some may like it, I did not. We also had a caesars salad which was the best part of the meal. We picked up the food. It was on time and the staff was friendly. I wound not go back as it was more expensive than I usually pay near my house. Cost, with tax was $47

Pandemic review: It's been a long time since I've been here. We chose this place because they have a large covered and heated outdoor space for dining. It was a Saturday night and the "tent" was full (in a safe pandemic way). Prior to this visit, I had only had pizza here. I had the chicken piccata that came with a side raviolis and pesto. My dining partner had the chicken scallopini that came with a side of mixed veggies. For sides, you have a choice of veggies, ravioli or spaghetti. They have a full bar, so I got my usual Manhattan. We both enjoyed our

We recently ordered in from Gaspare's and LOVED the food and the service.
As we navigate this new world, we were really impressed with how they managed take our orders. They had a safe waiting space, the team wore masks and they were swift to get our orders, eliminating any wait time.
We ordered the Terra Linda pizza (and had the garlic breath to prove it) and spaghetti and meatballs.
Food is great and staff if very safe.

Wow so bad I'll have to write a bad review, especially to a place I like very much. But here is what happened they screened on Friday a Star Wars movie and I learned that when I was having dinner in the city and thought how wonderful would it be to have a cappuccino and desert there and watch a bit outside. I checked their data and it was said TBRU have opened until 10pm and I'll arrive 9:55 well a desert and a cappuccino should maybe possible. Outside where about 10 people still having food or drinks. So I approached them if they would serve me a cappuccino and a desert, the first guy

Great Italian place in San Rafael! Our first dine-in experience was during covid so the dine-in was more of a dine-out. Servers are always wearing masks and keep a little bit if distance.
My favorite dish is the seafood risotto- so creamy with all of the seafood you would crave! Happy hour is a dollar off alcoholic drinks. Calamari fritti is perfectly fried. Chocolate mousse is always delicious. We'll definitely come back to hang out with friends after the pandemic is over!
Pros: great food, atmosphere, and service
Cons: Happy Hour deal isn't much of a deal
