Il Casaro Pizzeria & Mozzarella Bar which opened it's first location in San Francisco's historic Italian district of North Beach in March of 2014, Opened it's second location San Francisco's lively Castro District June of 2019, has redefined quality pizza for the neighborhood. Our perfect Napolitan style pizza recipe consists of caputo flour imported from Naples and San Marzano tomatoes with D.O.P certification (protected designation of origin). This special kind of D.O.P tomato can only be found in 41 Italian municipalities in the province of Naples, and we wouldn't dream of having our sauce prepared with any other sort.

Make sure you have proof of vaccination and your face mask if you want to eat inside. Outdoor dinning is also an option. The pizza was delicious. We tried four different types of pizzas and they were all fantastic. The crush pepper was on point and the oil based chili hits the spot. The IPA beer was okay, but I'm not even a casual drinker so I have nothing to really compare it too. If you have any doubts just go and you won't regret it.

Best lasagna we have EVER had! I forgot to take a picture of the salad which was a Beet w/walnuts, shaved pear & goat cheese with a pear dressing muah! Both pizzas, Margherita and Diabla were amazing. The dough was amazing... fluffy yet crunchy. The burt crust was my favorite... If you go here... enjoy. You can thank me later!

Ran into this place while looking for food late on a Sunday night. We sat outside. We ordered a lasagna, the carbonara (recommend by waiter) and we're also in the mood for some garlic bread. The lasagna was very good. The carbonara was AMAZING. The recommendation was spot on. Do try this! The biggest win was the garlic bread. Officially the restaurant doesn't serve it so the waiter had the chef make a garlic bread pizza in the pizza oven. It turned out incredible. It had an amazing garlic flavor and the crust was spot-on. I would definitely recommend stopping by here for some great food.

Il Casaro is an amazing north beach pizza location. I love the classic pizza margarita. The cheese is soft, flavorful and the pizza sauce is really fresh. It’s a thin crust so not the worst calorie bomb. I recommend the walnut goat cheese salad. It’s surprisingly very good with the dressing. Grab this pizza, head to a park or the beach and enjoy! I would this pizza over north beach pizza and golden boy pizza any day.

Oh wow! Pretty amazing pizza and Italian snacks in a small unassuming location. The pizzas are simple and to the point. Get a seat at the counter and watch them toss the pizzas, then put them in the wood oven for a couple minutes! Tip - the house red wine goes really well with the food. No need for anything else.
