Had a good evening and sushi time! Enjoyed the Chefs Sushi platter and several small plates. They have a large Sake and Shochu selection to pick from which was great! We will back as we loved this sushi spot!

The seats are higher than normal, kids friendly as advertised. Tried sushi, above average quality fish and taste. Tried bento box, better than expected, they are more like “move quality than quantity” side. Black garlic ramen worth a try here as well, interesting taste than others. The restaurant has a deep Japanese style furnish inside, not seeing many in the US. I like it.

Pretty disappointed in the ten-jyu it had 2 prawns and about 6 veggie tempura for $18 dollars. So that's about all I have to say maybe they will impress me next time we'll see.

I enjoyed a delicious meal here. The sushi was yummy. I gave it three stars because the menu is fine but not inspiring. Still, what I ordered was good and I do recommend enjoying a meal here. The service is friendly and speedy. The atmosphere is comfortable. A fine choice that would earn more stars for a menu that reflects a thoughtful and inspred connection with the food.

The butter fish miso was super soft and delicious. Butter tonkatsu ramen was great too. The wait wasn't too long and the bathrooms were very clean. Tempura was a bit of a let down, one of them was just a slice of onion that had been deep fried into tempura.

So so sad... this used to be a favorite sushi and noodle spot. Our last visit, we left after seated due to the smell of foul fish...

SHO is my new favorite sushi stop around the Portland and Beaverton area-- the others are not even close.

Highly recommend the seared salmon, nigiri, and ramen.

Truly authentic sushi, I couldn't help myself but other more to take home.

Excellent service as well.

Good quality sushi. It's on an average price. Nothing too expensive or cheap. I would say it's a good place to eat once and a while. I didn't have to wait on a Saturday night to get a seat so that was a plus.

Went here for dinner tonight. Just me and my SO, looking for a new place to patronize. We ordered the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen, Butter Miso Tonkotsu Ramen and a Hanabi roll. The sushi was OK. My order of the miso Ramen was mild, but tasty. I think my SO's soup was just tonkotsu. There were no visible flecks of black garlic and not even any garlic flavor whatsoever. Wrong order was forgivable. We were hungry and it was cold/rainy. But the service was severely lacking. The mgr/proprietor basically pushed us out (asking several times if we were finished yet before I was even half done with

This restaurant is consistently so delicious. I love the atmosphere. Ideal for romantic dinners. The food is top drawer and the staff is friendly and helpful. I was enjoying myself so much when I ate there recently that I totally forgot to get a pic which I must admit is rather rare.

These folks have yummy consistent food to meet lots of different preferences about cuisine. Sushi, teriyaki, noodle soups, gyoza, katsu and of course tempura are all hit with my family and friends. The service is always very nice but that can be more inconsistent so take your chill pill before you order take out or in the restaurant....things may take longer to prep than anticipated or if eating in, the sushi arrive well after the hot food. This is a good value for us, excellent quality ingredients, reasonable portions and fair prices, especially for a sushi place. Note: this is not a conveyor

I decided to eat hear based on a Yelp review of 4 stars. I was really disappointed.
Normal the Yelp reviews are really close but not this time. I love Sushi, and eat it quite often.
The atmosphere was good but the food was not. First of all someone called it authentic, I would have to
Disagree. Authentic sushi is based on the fish. It was hard for me to find something that was not either fried
Or spicy. And the fish was not fresh, it tasted old. The staff was nice but I will not be back. If you have not been here
I would pass. Not great sushi at a high $$$.

Great experience!
We had sushi here and it was not only very good tasting, but also looked amazing. The sushi chef works behind a glass wall right in the dining area and you can watch the whole process if you like.
The sushi is a little expensive, but worth the price. Also, the house green tea was amazingly only $1.00, so they don't gouge you like so many places tend to do these days.
Would definitely recommend going!

This has been my family's go-to place for years. Glad to see they made it through the pandemic. I like the variety of non sushi while my kids like the sushi. I like the small plates and the ability to upgrade to a meal. My favorite is the curry and I just discovered that I could ask for brown rice with that. Love this place!

This place is listed as gluten free friendly and Celiac safe. Two of us went here for lunch and inquired about safe practice to avoid cross contamination. They DO NOT take any precautions such as using a clean board and knife to make your sushi order. We cannot recommend Sho if you are looking for a safe gluten free meal.

We left without eating and drove downtown to a different sushi restaurant.

We really enjoyed our dinner tonight at SHO! I'm pretty new to Japanese cuisine, but my girlfriend knows my palate well so she did the ordering. I had the Kurobuta pork and Udon noodles, both were very good. My girlfriend had the triple impact roll and a seaweed salad and she claimed it was the best she's ever had & that's saying something, she's a hell of a cook herself! We'll definitely be returning for another 'date night' soon. Very clean establishment and our server was awesome.

After a long day of shopping in Portland, we were hungry and looking forward to some sushi out of the downtown area. Unfortunately, we were not treated very well on our visit.

The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived yet the hostess wanted to seat us right by the entrance at a two top that was sticky and drafty whenever the front door opened.

We politely asked if it was possible to move to another table over in the more diner friendly area of the restaurant and were told "no", that those tables were held incase someone wanted to reserve them through Google.

While waiting for

SHO is one of the few authentic Japanese restaurants in town.

SHO is a restaurant for Zen dining, peaceful, semi private booths, where you can relax and eat sushi, donburi bowls, etc. and drink sake.

The Japanese chef artfully prepares the food, almost with an Ikebana sense of Zen.

SHO salad dressing is my absolute favorite.
I buy their salad dressing to take it home. Their salad dressing and marinate is also available at Uwajimaya.

If you are dining alone, and want to watch Sumo Wrestling, you can be asked to be seated in the more active area of the restaurant.

There is also a large patio

Outstanding sushi, friendly environment, delicious specials, and even better customer service!!! Sho is a wonderful treat everyone should experience. And since their "to go" containers are now environmentally friendly they are reducing plastic consumption and are doing their part to being good stewards of the environment... All in all, these guys are top notch. Hands down one of the best sushi spots in the Portland Metro Area.

We ordered:

Lunch special with spicy tuna and flamingo rolls
Lunch special with flamingo and Hawaiian rolls
It came with salads and miso

The rolls were average at most. A lot of rice - very little fish. And the quality of fish was questionable - see images. Chewy skin or something inside the rolls? Kinda killed the mood for me and I lost my appetite. Raw fish is such a delicate thing. It can go from delicious to gross just like that.

Miso soup was good.

They also added a roll on top of the lunch combo which was a misunderstanding but I won't take any stars away for that.

Try this

This is an incredible dining experience and I have very high expectations. The real Japanese sushi chef is 2nd to none in this area. He understands the art way beyond most will ever acquire in a lifetime. It was a real treat to have bluefin as an option today with my regular maguro order. I also ordered the black mushroom ramen which was some of the best broths I've ever enjoyed in 3 different countries. Amazing flavor and quality not often found in Oregon. The owner is very proud and expects the most of not just the food, but customer service and the overall dining experience as well

Stopped by this restaurant with the goal of grabbing a dinner before heading home from our trip to Portland.

We wanted sashimi. I ordered maguro and she order salmon. We also got a roll. All tasted great and the service was good too. Although the sashimi was a little pricey for what you got.

Not a bad a spot in a pinch.

This place reminds me of the restuarants in Japan! The taste is absolutely authentic. I love the agedashi tofu the most, it was so cripsy and the sauce was super delicious, I just couldn’t stop myself from gobbling it all up lol. I didn’t expect such a large portion for the tofu, a bonus!
My partner, who loves salmon, said the chirashi bowl is the best he has ever had in the States.
The udon and tempura were quite good, but I will not order it again and will try other dishes if I have the chance to come again.
Thank you for the amazing quality!!

This is the second restaurant I visited since Multnomah county opened for Phase 1 during Covid and they are doing a great job with the safety measures! They take the necessary precautions, the seats were all at least 6 ft apart, dining was limited seating and all the employees were wearing masks.

I've been here numerous times but can't believe I haven't written a review yet because the food here is delicious!! There are only a handful of authentic Japanese restaurants owned by Japanese in Portland and this happens to be one of them! From appetizers to sushi, donburi to ramen, I
