Tried this place for the first time based on great online reviews. Ordered Raj kachori and Malai kofta for takeout. Raj kachori didn’t even resemble a kachori, it was an empty puri with a side of mixed chutneys and filling. Malai kofta was ok, but it had mustard seeds giving it a daal taste. Not sure what is going on here, but neither item resemble the actual food it’s meant to be.

Ordered Indo Chinese after reading the amazing reviews. This is the worst indo chinese I have ever had. Ordered the chili chicken dry, garlic chicken gravy and chicken lollipop and everything was absolutely tasteless even after mentioning to make it spicy. I am sure NJ has much better food that this bland place.

One of the best and authentic restaurant in the street. It is fresh and Hygienic. I went a couple of times for Buffet and for dinner with my family. Every time I go food is on the point. Their chaat is seriously delicious. They also had mango moose and chocolate moose which was also delicious but i would recommend chocolate moose over mango moose. They also have varieties of salads. Their dessert are super delicious and they are homemade too. Each dishes in their menu have different taste. Its a family owned restaurant. They treat you like a family. I would highly recommend everyone to come here

Family owned Indian restaurant in Jersey City - would highly recommend. Made it almost a ritual to try different Indian restaurants in NJ and this restaurant did not disappoint.
Apps were amazing and probably better than the entrees. Recommend the Bhel Puri, Drums of Heaven and Baby Corn. Got the Naan, Butter Chicken and Biryani but they were less memorable. We got so much quantity that we ended up taking a lot of the food home, but it stayed well for the next day.
Not too much of an ambiance, but if you decide to eat in person, nothing really beats eating Indian food fresh out of the kitchen

I've tried every single restaurant in Newark ave/journal square area and I'm so glad I found this when browsing online, it's the BEST Asian/Indian restaurant in the jersey city area. The place is clean (even the cloth linens smell good!), the portions are great, pricing spot on, presentation is BEAUTIFUL and the taste!!! We tried more things which I forgot to photograph but I can't wait to go and try more things. The staff is wonderful I especially loved the aunty that kept an eye on us and gave us water regularly, we felt at home. Honestly come here, you won't be disappointed.

I was in the mood for Indian food for lunch so I swung by this spot. I called in my order of tadka dal and tandoori roti and it came to about $14.80. The nice lady told me it would take about 20 minutes. Parking in the area is kind of tough so I had to park illegally nearby when I arrived. The nice lady greeted me when I walked in. The restaurant looked really new when I walked in so I asked when it opened. She said about a year ago and we spoke a little more before I paid and left. She was very nice.
When I tried the food, I must say it was very good. It had just enough spice and seasoning. The

Swadist delivers their own orders, which I love. I'd rather pay the restaurant any kind of delivery fee over Doordash or Ubereats. We placed an order for delivery around 7pm and it arrived about an hour later. We received a call when they were here and contact-less drop off was great.
I had their butter paneer and X had the baby goat masala. We also ordered one side of rice, garlic naan, and two drinks. They gave us an extra side of rice for free, which was super nice. We have enough food for tomorrow!

I was looking to order Indian food for delivery and ordered from Swadist after it was recommended to me.
Delivery took a long time! I didn't realize until after ordering that the estimate was 70 minutes, but in reality it took 90 minutes. Another thing that I didn't realize until placing the order is that it was being delivered by Door dash.. I will definitely not be ordering delivery from there again.
Looking at the menu made me nervous since fusion places making 2-3 different cuisines are often pretty bad. The food was all actually really really tasty, but it also tasted like it had

Swadist is a little pricier than some other competitors, but I received great service and decent food quality. The delivery was early (a rarity for deliveries!) and the driver called me before leaving the food in my building lobby. I ordered delivery directly through Swadist's website, and they had a promotion running where you get a free drink (there is a limited selection) for any order $30+.
Food quality was okay, but the spice level of two of our dishes was a tad too much for me (even though I'm Asian, I'm not very spice-tolerant). We ordered vegetable samosas (one order has

The best place! Definitely up there with some of the best Indian food I've had, ever. A little out of the way in Jersey City unless you're near Journal Sq, but it's worth the trek (otherwise they are on numerous delivery platforms!).
As for food, the butter chicken is absolutely incredible, as is the lamb saag. Vegetable samosas, garlic naan, the mango lassis -- all my typical go-tos and this place executes it all flawlessly. Also friendly and warm service and extremely affordable. Cannot recommend enough.

Starts with one liner "one of the best indian food in Newark Avenue"
Awesome indian food in the area I must say. All foods are fresh and tasty. All spices in most of the food are really in good balance.
Food - 5/5
Ambiance - 4/5
Service - 4/5
Cost - 5/5
Very cleanliness, must be because of the new restaurant. Hope they will continue for quality, cleanliness. I would love to go back again and again. Tandoor chicken is a must try. Chicken tikka masala is the best in the area. Enjoy the good food.

This is one of the better Indian restaurants in Jersey City. The food is delicious and the service is good. We ordered a lot of appetizers and every one of them hit the spot. Their dessert is great too - we really enjoyed kulfi falooda and lava cake but other dessert was delicious as well. Must try restaurant. It is BYOB.
