Ball Square Yoga
We offer yoga classes to the people in our neighborhood, the Somerville community, and beyond. Join us for a virtual session and discover how you can live an inspired and empowered life with the help of Ball Square Yoga. Of course, we couldn't do it without YOU, our students, & this community-thank you so much for your support of Ball Square Yoga!

Our studio was founded in Somerville, Massachusetts, and we are not your run-of-the-mill yoga company. We started small, offering drop-in sessions around our neighborhood, and are excited to continue to grow into a space where more and more people can join us, whether in person or from the comfort of their own home.
Services
We're a unique neighborhood yoga studio dedicated to recovering what we believe to be the essence of yoga: a traditional yoga philosophy and practice available to everyone. Yoga is for EVERY BODY! We're dedicated to teaching basic yoga for beginners as well as providing guidance & support for more advanced levels, and in various forms of practice such as Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Yoga Nidra, Trauma-Sensitive, and Holy Yoga.
This practice is accessible for all levels, centering around the basics of foundational (Hatha) yoga postures, and providing optional modifications for those wishing to take their practice a little deeper. We take a gentle approach-although "gentle" does not necessarily mean "easy"!-with the intention to nurture and strengthen our bodies and minds as we make space to connect with the Creator Who nurtures and strengthens our hearts and spirits.

This class is lovely. Yolanta is especially cordial and welcoming.

I went for first time today, found out about it through yelp, and wondered if it was still a happening thing since so few reviews were posted, (and none of them recent), but it is definitely ongoing and is a sweet neighborhood find!

I haven't taken other yoga classes, but I'm very happy here. The classes are unpretentious and beginner-friendly. There's some range of age/body type/ability with instructions on how to do things differently if you're not up to the full version of a pose.

You can't beat the price, $5 per class and no commitment. All materials are provided and Yolanta serves herbal tea at the end of class. :)

She does sometimes use some kind of essential oil diffuser during class - take note if you have allergies.

Yolanda is a gentle, quiet teacher. She made a point to make sure that every student felt welcomed and comfortable. She asked questions about what we wanted out of the class and if we had any physical issues or limitations or goals.

Nice peaceful pace, gentle stretching and meditation. Lots of emphasis on breathing. Great way to end the day. Very happy to have this option in the neighborhood.

Highly recommend. Nice space.

Yolanta currently teaches beginners yoga here twice a week. She is helpful and willing to cater classes to the appropriate level. The classes are $5 each which seems to be about as good a deal as you can find. Since she just opened there aren't a lot of clients yet so it was like a private yoga class. I highly recommend this to anyone in the area who wants to try yoga or practice more. If you are more advanced I would think Yolanta would be happy to do a more advanced class too.
