This review is only based on their happy hour drinks. We ordered a margarita on the rocks and another one frozen. Both tasted really fresh, which I appreciate because some places have awful marg mixed. They were a decent size for only $6 each. We also got a Tecate for $3. Wells are $5. Their chips and salsa come free with any purchase. We'll definitely be back! Looking forward to trying their food sometime.

We tried this place based on the reviews and it was just way different than expected. Maybe it's on us because we're not used to this type of cuisine. The sales was in really small flat bowls and was closer to Italian tomato sauce than salsa, and the food was just ok as well with very limited selection. Again maybe it was just us, but we didn't enjoy it.

If you’re a Mexican tourist, Mexican US resident, Mexican US citizen… anything related to a Mexican person, then you must come here. As of today, during all my US travels, this is the food that is closest to a Mexican soil flavor. I was here only for breakfast but I can tell the all day long menu is delicious.
Good food, good people… attended by real Mexican people with real roots in our country (MEXICO of course). So 5 stars for the delicious memory (at least the closest) of my country. Cheers.

I stopped by on a Friday night to find a packed house but was lucky enough to score the last free seat at the bar. The entire menu looked great, and I opted for the chicken caldo, which was outstanding. It was flavorful and hearty and definitely filled me up. I wasn't a fan of their salsa, but other than that this place is excellent. The staff is super friendly and the service is excellent.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in town.
They have a creative menu and the dishes are very tasty. The ceviche was super fresh with lots of pieces of shrimp and fish. The soup of the day exceeded my expectations, forgot what kind it was. I tried their mole poblano and the mango salad with shrimp and both tasted yummy. My wife ordered the tacos with shredded chicken and they were mildly spiced just like how she wanted. The service was professional and nice.

First we ordered water with no ice, server stills brings with ice and later says will replace it but forgets entire time. Second their sala is like one straight from Costco which is a major negative for me at any Mexican place.
For food we ordered Buenos do coliflor which is basically fried cauliflower and it was very bland. We asked for some more drizzle of sauce for which they charged us $3 more which is insane and after that too they brought

Holy Mole! And I mean that literally. I ordered the Platon de Enchiladas de Mole. I'm normally not a big fan of mole but my friend insisted that I give it a go. It's simple. 3 enchiladas and 3 mole sauces. From left to right, first there is a chicken enchilada covered with their traditional mole sauce garnishes with pickles red onion. Red, earthy with a little hint of sweetness, it was dang good! The middle was a shrimp enchilada, so sweet and tender. Covering it was a white mole that reminded me of crushed almonds and light creamy goodness and was topped with a sprinkle of black sesame

Food: I can say that today I tried the BEST soup ive ever had in my life "crema poplanio". It came with our order of tacos. I also ordered sizzling shrimp fijittas, it came with rice, pico, their special sour cream, and tortillas. And i asked for avocado slices on the side. Their guacamole wasnt my absolute favorite tho, but the salsa was Fiah. We had the mango and the raspberry margarita and they were both great.
Service: fantastic people working here, we were sat very quickly. They brought the chips n salsa and our drinks immediatly. It was a wonderful customer service experience.

This place was definitely hop in when we arrived. We got a seat and we're promptly served chips and salsa. The chips were very thin which I love. And the salsa was quite different than a typical salsa that you find in a Mexican restaurant. It was thin and spicy.
We chose to split a dish of enchiladas with three sauces. It was very thoughtful of the server to actually split the dish and serve us each our own plate. Everything had excellent flavor the cream sauce in the middle was so good I wanted more but after tasting both the rojo and the verde I couldn't decide what I liked more I was very happy

100% fresh and delicious authentic Mexican food! I had the pleasure to dine for the first time last night. Went on a Thursday at 5:45 and it was busy but no wait. Was blown away by the quality of ingredients in every dish. Started out with the sopa del dia which was a creamy poblano. You could taste how fresh the roasted peppers were (yum). The ensalada was refreshing and homemade lime dressing was awesome. My boyfriend had the chicken fajitas - enough for 6 fajitas! Service is not on par, as you'll see 4 people behind the bar and no one is seeI got that I'm trying to have one come to the table.
Worst of all is the fact that they are still enforcing masks when all of Austin and Texas has opened up already, is just annoying and unnecessary.

Meh. Delivery through Postmates. Late order was not the restaurant's fault at all. The screwed up order was. Wrong beans, missing tortillas. No salsa? No napkins or flatware? Do I have to order those separately? Wasn't an option. Meh. Soup was super salty. Meal was greasy and bland. Not really sure if it's what I ordered...back to the Texican.

Overall a solid mexican restaurant that seems to be somewhat authentic. I ordered pick up during COVID times and they were very prompt.
Here is what I liked:
Enchiladas: Very well made, juicy and overall not too much flavor. I really enjoyed this dish.
Mole Poblano: I thought this was well done. It depends if you like Mole sauce, my wife did not like this much but she does not like Mole sauce. Its a little savory and sweet.
Items I did not like as much:
Salsa: the salsa that came with the dish I was not a big fan of, seemed lacking flavor
Banana Leaf Pork: It was a very dry meat

With all the great reviews I was excited to try Hecho En Mexico and plus it's near my house. We got chills relleno, enchiladas, and an appetizer of beef nachos.
Everything from the salsa to the mains needed a lot of salt. The freshness was good but the tastes weren't bold or exciting at all. I did like that the chili rellenos weren't battered and were more like a baked stuffed pepper - but if you were wanting a more traditional chili relleno you'd be
