Well, first impression was that they need better lighting and quicker service. They were short staffed tonight as it turns out. The owner was cooking and basically doing it all. He was super nice and the food was worth the wait. We didn't go for the buffet so it took some time for our menu items but the food was phenomenal!

We did take-out from here again. It was wonderful. Not sure why we waited so long since our last purchase.
We did vegetable korma; we order it mild and it was full of flavor. The vegetable was not over cooked. We also got the Rogan Gosh; this was ordered medium. Yes, it had a bit of a kick to it. Eat it with the raita and the heat diminishes a bit. They work very well together. Adding mango chutney is also a must.
We love their naan; we got both plain and garlic; I prefer the garlic. It was cooked just right, not burnt and still a bit warm by the time we got it home.

Vegetarian Food Review: I ordered Shahi Paneer, Garlic Naan and Raita. Really enjoyed the food. I ordered medium spicy but if you don’t enjoy spice then make sure you say mild. Flavors were very different from mainstream and the service was very good. I look forward to trying more things. I wish there was 4.5 for rating. So try and let me know what you thought about it. Thank You Simi for taking care and serving me the lovely food. Not much to say about dine in experience in regards to ambience.

The title on the site says: Silsila The Flaming Tandoor - INDO-PAK HALAL Restaurant
On the main page inside the website it says we do not serve halal food.
Please fix all your SEO and website and remove the reference of Halal from everywhere else. Just putting a message on the site is not enough as other online ordering sites are still classifying Silsila as Halal.
We ordered and ate the food, only today when we wanted to order again and re-confirmed out of habit we were told they don't serve Halal food. On the first attempt when we asked were told by a different person who took the order

We visited as a family of 4 on a slow Sunday evening, The food was excellent and well spiced, even considering we asked for less spicy. We ordered and shared a few main dishes, some samosas, and naan, as well as some mango lassies, All were very good. In addition, the service, interest, and sincerity of the owner were all really appreciated, and we will definitely return.

My review is based on the food and the service. I ordered food to go and when I went to pick it up the person at the counter was not wearing a mask and did something pretty crappy. There were two men ahead of me, one white and one bipoc. The worker looked at the white man and asked his name and quickly went to get his food and that guy left. Then the worker looked at me and asked me (mostly white gal) what the Name on my order was and I pointed to the person next to me and said they were here first and the worker said that's ok and asked my name again and then looked at the other guy and asked

We've gotten delivery from here for the past year or so and it is always a treat! Our faves are the Khorma with chicken and the Butter Chicken with garlic naan. We're still making our way through the menu and everything is absolutely delicious. Treat yourself!

Best Indian food I've found in North Portland. Love the tika masala and baingan bartha(probably botching these). Highly recommend this place for comfort Indian food. Atmosphere for dinning in is a little lacking but that's because of the location and the takeout centered business. Recommend takeout if you go here.

My husband and I love this place! We came to Portland a month ago and have been here 3 times now. The food is delicious, and the owner (I believe) is super friendly. I usually like tikka, but we got the afghani chicken and I like that even more. I’m also extremely happy that they serve these with chicken breast. I’m super picky with meat, and only eat breast 😂.. I know weird. Overall love! The naan and tandoori roti are good (we’ve have both butter and garlic naan).

It was my first time trying Indian food so I was super excited! I’m super happy to say that this place was so GOOD. We ordered spicy vindaloo with prawns and it did not disappoint. We ordered spicy butter chicken and although it was not spicy, it was phenomenal. Garlic and chili nan were amazing as well. We had the cucumber raita with our food and it was so refreshing and tasty. The garlic wings were also amazing. Chicken biryani was delish as well. Great flavors, great presentation (we ordered to go) and guy at the front was super friendly! So glad we got to try this place before leaving Portland

Wasn’t good. We ordered from Grubhub. I’ve lived in NYC and been to India, I love Indian food. What we got was very clearly Buffalo wing sauce with maybe habanero added in. the garlic naan wasn’t even good and that’s maybe the simplest thing we ordered. I don’t understand how this place is so highly rated. (Adjusted rating to be less harsh)

Super tasty Indian food in a cute area of Portland. I got the veggie korma and my husband got the chicken madras. Both entrees were super tasty. I found the Korma to be an interesting take on what you normally get. It had red onion and carrot sticks, instead of medallions. Both entrees had great flavor. The naan was nice and chewy.

The food was over priced and very low quality. The tandoor chicken was so dry. The butter chicken tasted like it was strictly just made with marinara sauce. The 4 combo naan was so underwhelming that we needed to add our own butter and spices. I'm very surprised it's rated so high on Uber eats and other places. Do yourself a favor and try another restaurant!

Two words: Mango Chicken. Please, please, please do yourself a favor and get this dish! Even at the highest spice level, this curry was super creamy and drinkable (for me at least). I love the subtle hint of spiciness at the end that rounds off the sweet, tangy mango perfectly. The chicken thigh pieces were also very tender and well-cooked. Paired with naan or basmati rice with aromatic fennel seeds, which comes with the curry, this dish was heavenly. Again, please get this.
The Dal Makhani was also delicious. It was surprisingly "meaty" eventhough it was lentil based with some kidney

This is honestly a the best Indian food I've had in Portland. I'm a pescatarian (eat only seafood/ no meat) and their shrimp dishes are fantastic. Specially the Tiki Masala with shrimp. Also their veggie samosas are *chef kiss* SO GOOD! I also get some garlic naan to go with my masala because it's nice and saucy and perfect for dipping.
Overall their dishes are flavorful, authentic, and decently portioned. I've been here multiple times and have always been happy with my order.

Absolutely love this restaurant! I found this restaurant using my yelp app based upon my location. My mother-in-law and I decided we wanted Indian food. So we came in here ordered some takeout. We enjoyed a small bottle of wine while we waited for our food to get ready. I asked the owner who took our order what he suggested we eat, and his suggestions were excellent. The items that we ordered were absolutely delicious. They did take about 20+ minutes to make and it tasted like a home-cooked meal. Everything was very hot and fresh full of flavor and we enjoyed it very much. On the menu they&apos

In this time of Covid and sheltering in, the importance of having something delicious you didn't have to prepare yourself carries more weight than usual. I'm happy to report that Silsila met the bar gracefully.
We try a couple of times a week to support our local restaurateurs, spreading our limited money around as best we can. So this was our first time trying Silsila--but it won't be our last.
We ordered on line for pick up. Easy peasy. No problems, no confusions. Everything ready as promised.
The vegetable samosas were very nice. Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside
