Sosta Cafe
I have always worked in the food industry; and as a French person, because food is so important in our culture, I always felt that food was a great way to connect and share with people. Meals are taken facing and talking to each other. The idea of a good lunch would be helpful in getting people to take a break instead of just looking for something to fill their stomachs.

The lunch business is often overlooked and neglected by the industry because dinners make the most with alcohol. I prefer the hours of lunch service as opposed to dinners because they allow for more personal and family life. It is a great balance while still working in the food industry.
Services
This place never fails. The food is so consistent. I had not eaten here for probably six months had the same thing last week and it tasted the exact same way. Delicious as always. This place is kitschy and cute and I love it! There's a floor model tv at the door, funky art throughout, and even a little coffee bar.

Awesome sandwich/salad place. Food is rock solid - fresh. Owner is funny and welcoming. It's a place for a quick bite or a lingering hang at a snails pace. So happy it's across the street from me.

Friendly and quick service. Healthy and delicious sandwiches and bean salads. I stop here for lunch whenever I am in town because they have vegan options. "Dude, Where's My Chicken" is my go-to sandwich of choice

I cannot recommend Sosta Cafe enough! It is a quaint find with friendly staff (perhaps the owner?) and DELICIOUS food. I love the "little piggy" vegan sandwich and couscous! You should definitely check it out if you want a lovely afternoon lunch :)

Super delicious sandwiches and tasty drinks. Plan to wait for a bit for your order to be ready, it will be so worth it. A place I would want to be a regular in if I lived in Raleigh.

Sosta is a small, comfortable, and quiet cafe with phenomenal food and coffee. The limited menu helps keep the small kitchen moving fast and keeping the quality on a top tier level. The food is comforting and light with the portions being perfect for continuing your day without feeling like there is a lead weight in your gut. Everything is made fresh and it really shows. We will definitely be going back and enjoying the laid back atmosphere.

Incredible food. My boyfriend and I got vegan plates and could not even tell it was vegan. I got the sampler and he got the little piggy. We are from Atlanta Georgia and wish so badly there was another location!

What an amazing authentic French cafe. I can’t say enough about my experience. The atmosphere was very unique and cozy. You no longer felt like you were in a city when you stepped inside. All the vegetarian sandwiches were delicious and freshly made. My friend described it was an explosion of flavors. We will be back.

Amazing sandwiches. I especially appreciated the excellent vegetarian options. The guy seemed friendly, hardworking, and intensely devoted to sandwiches. It's a long drive from Durham but I will find excuses.

Wow, I don't know how to say it.
A true gem that's in plain site. It's delicious. Everything. I don't know if it's the French influence in the kitchen but it's, like, so good. So simple and yet so delicious. You can't make it this way at home, lol, I promise.
It's funky, it’s cool, it’s charming, it’s eclectic, it’s modern and metropolitan and cozy and good.
Coffee bar with a kitchen, it’s dynamite

SOSTA is an oasis of calm, peace, delicious food, and genuine community in the midst of downtown Raleigh. The food is excellent for take-out, or to bask in the atmosphere and take a break to enjoy the superbly crafted coffee, sandwiches, salads, and sides.
Jerome, Raleigh's favorite French, now American, citizen pours his heart into making SOSTA the sort of place where you long to be a regular.
Treat yourself to a place where the experience is just as important as the magnificent food, and support a gem of an independent cafe that has endured a terrible year.

First, to get this out of the way, I'm a little addicted to their brownies. There was a pan cooling at the front and I got to pick the one I wanted, which they pulled out for me right then and there. Nothing like it.

Secondly, this is an awesome place for both meat-eaters (my favorite meat sandwich is the Alpine) and plant-based humans (the Angus, is simply amazing). And the SIDES. I could dive into a tray of their couscous. All of them are vegan, and they give you so much food I always order a to-go container when I place my sit-down order because I know I'm going to be taking half

I love coming to Sosta Cafe. Favorite spot in town, period. Everything that is made here, from the coffee to the sandwiches to the soups is fresh, quality and made with this best ingredients. The Israeli couscous and the cannellini beans are mouth watering and savory. I usually eat really fast but I always find myself slowing down when eating here so that I can enjoy every last bite. Literally everything on the menu that you can get that is going to be 5-star quality. You can tell that perfection is put into each meal served.

Additionally, the owner of Sosta has to be the most genuine, heart

Delicious and healthy food made with eclectic ingredients from around the world. Tastes so fresh and comes in massive portions! There's so much food that I literally can't finish it all in one sitting (and I can usually put down a lot of food). Also, there's an impressive vegan selection that you just don't find at many restaurants. Plus, the owner is like the nicest guy!

I placed an online order for the angus without cheese and the vegan salad sampler, which was all delicious. I also got a cappuccino and forgot to specify non dairy milk. They thoughtfully realized my entire order was vegan and gave me oat milk. I've had great customer servicd experiences in store in the past and appreciate the level of care they take even with online orders. If they were to switch to compostable packaging Sosta would become my favorite lunch spot in town, everything else they do is perfect.

After visiting the Saturday Farmer’s Market in Raleigh, we found this great cafe in downtown Raleigh! Perfect find for vegans, vegetarians, coffee lovers and those that like conversation. The French owner was a delight and full of personality. We sat outside and enjoyed people watching, especially after the Presidential Election! Parking was free on the weekends

Perfect place for a coffee and a bite to eat.
The owner is from southern France and I loved talking with him in French.

They have everything you need for a perfect coffee, latte, cappuccino etc.

If you're looking for a place to go and be transported to France, this is the place for you!

I can't wait to come back here and try the food.

Great place!

Went to pick up a delivery for DoorDash and the man working the register was incredibly rude and hostile when I told him the name for my order. I will never deliver from there again and I will never eat there. Do not patronize a business run by such a rude person.

*** Edit as I cannot reply to comments: I am not a liar. You were rude and unhelpful when I was trying to do my job, same as you. You had stopped talking to those men and looked up at me, so I told you what I was there for. I did not interrupt you. When I told you why I was there you were absolutely rude to me. I clearly looked overwhelmed as I looked over the menu and when I was asked if I needed help, I told the gent behind the counter that I was on a keto diet so no bread. He offered to put together a prosciutto salad and I jumped on it.

Holy smokes, this was excellent. A huge pile of thin sliced meat on to of a spinach salad tossed in a light vinaigrette dressing and mixed with roasted walnuts a bits of goat cheese. It was absolutely delicious and completely keto. Wow.

Great service, a great meal, absolutely fabulous.

The price was steep for the quantity and quality.
It was also just a basic turkey sandwich nothing out of ordinary. Very skimpy on meat and didn't even taste cheese! I also had tomato soup that was very watery only a broth soup with barely any flavor. I did love the atmosphere of this cute place! The couscous side was good! If I were to go back I would probably get a vegetarian option seemed to be the things that everyone was ordering.
