The Bean Counter Family has grown from few to many over the years. Today, Alice is designing cakes and her husband Dom takes care of the coffee from bean to brew. Our baristas are dedicated to creating the perfect cup of coffee with science-focused methods using state-of-the-art brewing equipment.

You should be receiving in the mail soon a formal thank you card and some beautiful pictures taken from our special day. I've also attached them digitally. Alice and the Bean Counter Bakery did a phenomenal job with our wedding cakes! Alice and her team were fantastic to work with throughout the entire process.
At Bean Counter Bakery Cafe, we select premium quality and ethically sourced beans, micro-roasted to our specifications and delivered to us on a weekly basis. We use a brand new state-of-the art brewing equipment, including a Mirage espresso machine, praised in the coffee industry as the "Ferrari" of espresso machines.

Bean counter bakery catered for our wedding on 1/14/22 and we couldn't have been happier. We ordered a 6" chocolate muse cake and a variety cupcakes consisting of carrot cupcakes, peanut butter chocolate cupcakes and cannoli cupcakes. Alice and her team were professional.The cupcakes were out of this world. We were pleased with their services.

We went here to try their gluten free pastries. I bought a lemon shortbread pastry with frosting sandwiched between both shortbread cookies. I almost had a heart attack when the cashier rang us up and announced that for those two cookies our total would be $12. The cookies tasted fine. Not exceptional and not terrible, but definitely not worth $12.

Excellent coffee & pastries! Top notch service. Comfortable atmosphere. I ordered a beautiful cake here years ago for my sister's baby shower & was very impressed, though I will say it was a little expensive. Well worth the money. Quality is definitely noticeable & much appreciated. Awesome cheesecake. If you have never been, you must try! Nice selection of goodies & beverages.

I love the Bean Counter! I worked with the owner Alice for cupcakes for my bridal shower and our wedding cake. Alice professional, patient and kind. The cupcakes were stunning and were just as much decor as they were a yummy treat for our bridal shower guests. The wedding cake was beautiful and delicious, we chose the Pumpkin Brown Butter Cake with Swiss Meringue Buttercream with caramel drizzle, it was outstanding!

We have been coming to the Bean Counter for years and we love this place. One employee in particular was rude. We went in today, my girlfriend and her sister and step mother. We all ordered and the the place filled up. I had planned on getting cupcakes for my girlfriends birthday. Before I knew it my step mother in law had paid for the whole order! I went over to the register and offered to kick in some money as I didn't want her to pay the whole tab.i asked what each cupcake cost, The girl/guy/dude/whatever with short red hair said to the other girl- Don't tell him, he's being nosey

Bean counter has always been my go to bakery for any birthday occasion. It only made sense for me to go to Bean Counter for my wedding cake. Alice was sweet but always busy and sometimes hard to reach. We had a quote for my wedding cake and made a deposit. Two weeks before my wedding, we had to pay the remaining balance which was increased with no explanation. There was also a mistake made on my wedding cake due to miscommunication between the designer and owner. I wanted a simple wedding cake, literally no design. I went back today (the next day) to get a refund only to see that two of the tiramisu on display had mold. Absolutely unacceptable. If you see this and still decide to go to this bakery be very cautious and observant because clearly these past two days they weren't.

Visiting Worcester and so glad I decided to stop here. Incredible selection, ultimately I went with Half Baked Cupcake based off one of the employees recommendation and I do not regret it! The cupcake itself was moist and the "icing" was more like a mix between cream cheese and cookie dough. Absolutely to die for. The other person in my party chose a MASSIVE chocolate chip cookie that was extremely soft and tasted homemade! If you're near by, you should definitely stop in to grab a cup of coffee and a something sweet. You will be happy you did!

Amazing bakery! Ordered a vanilla cake and have never ever tasted a cake quite that delicious before. There was a perfect level of subtlety from the vanilla flavoring combined with the not overpoweringly sugary frosting that made this cake stand out from any bakery cake I've ever had. Go here, you will not be disappointed

So glad that the Bean Counter opened a cafe in my neighborhood. My pastry of choice is the scone. I have tried their two flavors, as well as, other pick up pastries.
In my opinion, they are great in a pinch, but not my favorite. The scones taste and feel more manufactured than homemade. I am also disappointed that they only offer two flavors. Thanks for being nearby.

Before the pandemic, I was a frequent visitor to the Bean Counter in Worcester, and it's wonderful to be able to get back there. If you like homemade pastries (and who doesn't?), this is the place for you. Fruit tarts, big cookies, muffins, cupcakes, and other delights, plus a variety of coffee drinks and smoothies. Eat in or take out. 2 locations, and definitely worth a visit!

I just love independent bakery shops!!! It's 'our thing' to visit as many as we can and find all the best ones!!!! We don't eat any sweets usually so every weekend we go to a bakery (or ice cream shop in the summer) to buy a sweet treat.
The famous Crown Bakery in Worcester used to be one of our favorites to get Swedish pastries and desserts until they retired and sold (that's a whole other story). We were so sad that we wouldn't be able to get anymore of their delicious coffee rings, Semla buns and other yummy treats. Until.... the original owners of Crown Bakery

I don't normally give bad reviews for local businesses but this experience was outrageous. I visited the Bean Counter's sister location on Grove St and ordered a chai latte with almond milk and an espresso shot (commonly referred to as a "Dirty Chai"). I order dirty chais often as they are delicious and have plenty of caffeine. Upon ordering, the barista informed me that the order was $9. When I asked how the coffee could be so expensive she said "well espresso is an extra $3 because normally you wouldn't add it to the drink and almond milk is $1.25 extra." The

I reside in Florida, and my best friend lives in the Worcester area. I contacted the Bean Counter to facilitate a delivery for her birthday. I spoke with Alice and she was wonderful! She even wrote me a card to go with the delivery. My friend said the macarons were absolutely delicious. I know I will be stopping there next time I am up north!

This review is long overdue. Blink & you'd miss this coffee bar if you don't know the area. I'll only speak on their desserts as that's my main reason patroning. My absolute FAVORITE is the carrot cake muffin...I'm funny about mine. They have to have nuts, carrots, buttercream frosting & MOIST...it's ALL THAT & MORE!!! Desserts are usually a bit too sweet and a tad expensive, but I love their vibe and they have great coffee! I got an apple dumpling today and it was so delicious. If they’ve got their tiramisu I highly recommend it! I’ve been here several times and service is friendly and comfortable. I love staying to finish a drink and read a book.

In terms of aesthetic, Bean Counter is no exception to cozy coffee shop. On this particular Sunday, it was full of people quietly nestled in chairs and working away on laptops.
We came in for a quick coffee break after disappointingly driving to a Starbucks that is now out of business. I wish our visit here hadn't been as disappointing. We bought two coffees (an iced salty sailor and a cappuccino) and a fruit tart. The coffees were good but not great

Due to my odd work schedule, many decent local coffee places are closed prior to my overnight shifts. I'm always on the hunt for a decent coffee shop other than the typical chains like DD.
So glad I was able to find this cute little shop that's open until 10 pm! That's even later than the Starbucks in the area. It surprisingly is still pretty lively at that time of hour especially since closing time was approaching.
