We are a CrossFit dedicated gym located in the popular Ballston neighborhood of Arlington, VA (just 4 blocks from the Ballston metro station on the Orange Line). The Ballston CrossFit (BCF) team has always had a passion for sports, health and fitness. Our gym and workout programs are completely designed around driving results for our members.
CrossFit coaches lead members through a fun and challenging 1 hour long workout of the day (WOD), coaching athletes on technique and encouraging you to work hard. I truly enjoyed my time at Ballston CrossFit. The community here is awesome and the athletes and coaches are exceptional. The programming is also great and, with modifications, is challenging and a good workout for all levels of athletes.

We love being part of the greater CrossFit community and we look forward to your visit as we welcome drop-ins from around the world to experience our excellent coaching! Our drop-in policy is outlined below:. Drop-in fees are $25 per WOD ($45 with a shirt) or $75 (paid on first visit) for a week of unlimited classes ($95 with a shirt).
The Foundations course is our beginner's class and is designed to prepare individuals who are new to the CrossFit movements for our ongoing CrossFit group classes (WODs). Foundations consists of 6 sessions, 3x per week over 2 weeks (note - it is ok to miss 1 of the 6 classes). These training classes have a low coach to student ratio to ensure that students learn the correct techniques for the CrossFit movements.
Constantly varied, functional movements executed at high intensity. CrossFit is designed for everyone. It is scalable in all aspects making it the perfect fitness regime for any committed individual regardless of experience. All of our CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, the core movements of life.
For those of you who don't know me, I'm Stacey and I attend the PM WODs. Any given weeknight, you can find me working on skill progressions, running around bootcamp and lifting heavy with our amazing community of athletes. But this wasn't always the case. My CrossFit journey started in 2017 when I joined BCF and I haven't looked back.

I have been a member at Ballston Crossfit for five years. I have nothing but the best things to say about BCF and their entire staff. The community at this gym is welcoming, fun, and a place where you'll be sure to make life long friends and get crazy strong along the way!
The coaches and entire staff are incredibly knowledgeable and detail oriented in all aspects of their coaching. This is clear in the well planned and executed programming to the attention each and every member gets on improving technique and form during WODs.

This gym has hands down the best coaches! They know everyone’s name, are super supportive, correct any imperfections in form, and are all around great people. The programming encourages members to get to know one another so it really feels like a family. The workouts are also great, truly the best around. Working out at BCF is the highlight of my day!

I’ve been a member at Ballston CrossFit for the past 5 years. During that time, I’ve met countless friends and had a number of great experiences through the gym and the members that go there. Many people are intimidated about going to a “CrossFit” gym. They think the norm is rhabdo and a cult like atmosphere every time they walk in the door due to the fact that the coaches are not properly trained and members are attempting heavy lifts with zero guidance or attention to form. To that I would say, check out BCF. Coaches are not just attending a one weekend class and then leading instruction

BCF is hands down the best gym in the area. My gf and I shopped around for several months, landed at Ballston CrossFit and couldn’t be happier. The coaches are knowledgeable and incredibly helpful with movement pattern/technique cues. The community is awesome and everyone pushes each other to be better. Would 100% recommend if you’re looking for a gym in town.

I've been doing crossfit for over 8 years and moved to the DMV area from Florida about 3 years ago. For experienced Crossfitters everyone knows that each box is different. Some boxes are better than others and the skillset/level of coaching can be subpar. I can without a doubt say this is the best crossfit box in the DMV area. The coaching staff are the most enthusiastic and well versed crossfit coaches I have come across and the box is outstanding. Highly recommend this box to all of those who are looking for a new crossfit home or who are just starting their crossfit journey

BCF is hands down the best decision I've ever made! I was a member for five years before I moved out of the area, and leaving BCF was one of the hardest parts about moving!
1. Coaching: Tucker and his managers train and oversee an incredible coaching team. He puts each coach through a rigorous internship/training program to ensure that they are ready for prime-time before they start coaching the regular classes. The coaches are stellar. When I started at BCF, I was so worried that I wouldn't remember any of the crossfit acronyms or movement names or the exact technique for every movement

I started as a member of the foundation class, I can say that these guys know their stuff, and they care about good training. Crossfit is a sport, not exercise, and it is classified as high risk of injury (just google). If you're above the standard 28-34 demographics just watch it. You need folks like these to guide you.
As a member of the regular class, 2-3x/week, I find the classes intense and yet paced to the unique needs and readiness level of the participants. You could be training alongside a super fit person and still be able to adjust to your needs. As long as you don't compete

The TLDR version is that this place is a top notch place to work out, get stronger, learn correct form and procedures when working out, and have an overall enjoyable experience with utterly fantastic, experienced (and sometimes hilarious) coaches. Shout-outs go to Rich (WODs and Boot Camp), Laura (WODs and Foundation), Mike (WODs) and Maria (Core Blast) for their superb coaching skills and the hilarious/genuine personal approach they bring to the workouts.

Thanks to coaches Tucker, Claire and Alex for an awesome Sunday morning drop in experience. The staff and members at this gym really know their stuff and were very welcoming. The warm up was thoughtful and thorough which the coaches taking time explain each element and how it would relate to the workout. You can tell this gym caters to both the elite/competitive athletes, the average Joe's, and the beginners. If I were to relocate to the area I could see this place becoming my home. Thanks for the hospitality BCF!

BCF is good for all fitness levels and you will absolutely see results.

I am a box owner and coach. During my travels I make it point to visit/drop-in local boxes for two reasons: 1. Support local boxes and 2. Self development (learn). To date, CrossFit Ballston is one of the best boxes I have ever visited. Class structure (format) and instruction is on point (they have outstanding coaches). Most importantly, CF Ballston has a great community (friendly and so welcoming). I had a great experience during my visit and I highly recommend CF Ballston to anyone in the area or passing through. Thank you CF Ballston and I look forward to my next visit.

Two of my closest friends got me to try CrossFit after years of thinking that that type of workout would be way too intense for me. I took Foundations in September of 2015 and have been so excited and grateful for the progress I've seen since joining. I am almost 40 and though I am still always the last to finish the workouts and don't even Fx most of the time, I'm in the best shape of my life and it feels pretty awesome. I've also been so encouraged by the BCF members... since I'm usually last to finish I've often got some of the strongest cheering me on at the

I tried several CrossFit boxes in the greater DC area and I can confidently say that BCF is the best. When I moved from Seattle, I left behind the box where I started CrossFit. I figured every location would be the same. While each of the other locations I tried around DC had some parts of what I love about CrossFit, none of them felt right. I was looking for a great workout, with active coaches who get to know you and other CrossFitters who are there with a smile on their face because they know they are there to have fun and get a great workout. I found all that at Ballston CrossFit.

I went in for their free class on Saturday and decided I would give this gym a shot. I've always worked with a personal trainers and had memberships at different gyms and just kind of got bored with it. After a few classes I was hooked! The group environment is so energizing and all the members are awesome. The coaches are AMAZING and pay attention to detail. People say "you shouldn't do crossfit because 'if' you're not doing the right technique you'll end up hurting yourself". That's why this gym is the best! The coaches are there to help you perfect

This location is great. I've found that, with Crossfit, you have to research the gyms beforehand to see how the coaches are. This alone will determine whether or not you will have a good experience. The coaches here are fantastic. Even though the work outs are in a group, they make sure to ensure each individual is doing the technique properly/scaled appropriately.
I started Crossfit almost a year ago with a pre-existing shoulder injury and knee problems. I haven't injured myself once, but HAVE had significant improvement with my shoulder. Zero knee pain.

Two years ago, I decided to try out Crossfit. At the time, I didn't realize that this would be a life changing decision. My girlfriend and I choose this gym over the Crossfit gym located 0.25 mi from our home at the time because their foundations class schedule fit into our schedules. We were so impressed with Tucker (the owner) and James (coach), that we decided to join after our foundations class completed. They were both very enthusiastic, gave great instructions, incredibly positive, and were not salesmen like at all.

I came to BCF after a couple of years at another Crossfit in California and have seen tremendous improvements over my first two months. Tucker was really helpful in my first session with him - my "test out" was a lot more like a personal training session focused on how Tucker and his coaches could help me improve.
They're really focused on technique and making sure that I'm doing things the right way vs. just moving as much weight as possible. Coaches have taken the extra time to point out where (and how!) I need to mobilize and it's made all the difference. I&apos

If you're new to the DC Area - as I still am - and are looking for a new CrossFit box, be sure to head over to Ballston CrossFit to try out a free class. In just a short period of time I have been thoroughly impressed, not just by the facility and available equipment (which is all solid), but more so by the quality instruction provided by the coaching staff.

There are a lot of articles/rumors circulating about the evils of Crossfit, how it supposedly causes injuries and lacks results... Well, let the haters hate because the truth is just the opposite.
I played sports for many years, and I've found that crossfit is a great way to get my daily dose of competition - plus, the workouts are hard but also vary enough from day to day that it's tough to get bored. The coaches at BCF have been awesome with helping me tailor my workouts around, and helping to rehabilitate, a pretty severe back injury (the cause of which had nothing to do with crossfit
