Our credit union was formed by eight school teachers who pooled their funds in 1934 to be able to make loans to other teachers. These visionary leaders created DPS Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned and controlled by the members who use its services. I went to Westerra to inquire about something extremely *specific* in order to see if I'd be able to open a business account.
I did a walk-in and unfortunately they weren't able to see me due to being short on staff, but were able to make an appointment for me for the following day. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the teller who knew my name! (I can't remember her name but) the woman who helped me out was really informative and did her best to answer any questions. She provided recommendations on what I could do moving forward.

I needed to offer/close quickly in a hot market and Charmaine helped me through the entire process from pre approval to close. Their app is horrendous. Extremely limited functionality, restrictive password configuration requirements, and the app doesn't allow you to use a password you've ever used before. Heck, even ADP let's you recycle passwords after 3 different passwords are used. My car loan will be paid off in 2 months and I cannot wait to be done with this institution.
I wanted to confirm they had my correct address on my account so the title for my BMW doesn't get lost when they mail it to me. There is no way to confirm or change your address through the app. You can't even view past statements. What's the point

The experience I have had with Westerra credit union as a whole has been a nightmare. From cashiers mixing up personal and business accounts when depositing checks, to the 4 month nightmare of trying to prove to the IRS that I already paid through the bill pay. From Fernando at the call center, to Kari Mathews never returning my calls! The. branch manager Rachel at the Aurora branch refusing to help me after the second letter from the IRS and threatening to have me removed by the police

Customer service has depreciated greatly these days. I called in because I was interested in opening a checking a account with this credit union. The representative who answered told me to apply online instead. I thought this was odd but ok I applied online. The online process was really touch and go, it wouldn’t let me open documents or upload items like my ID but I managed to get through it after several tries. About a week and a half passed by and my application still said pending. I called in yet again and the representative who answered stated, “all you need to do is email your drivers

I left my big bank in disgust after one too many episodes of nation-wide malfeasance. Perhaps it wasn't exactly legal malfeasance, but it was morally suspect, and ethically disheartening. And yucky. I began using Westerra for all my financial needs, which after all are relatively simple compared to some folks. It was a good decision. I receive all the same services that I previously received at the large bank, and deep down inside I don't feel, well, yucky. I've used Westerra in particular for a few automotive loans - two, in fact - and they both went smoothly, the cars and the loan process. Speaking

I've been with westerra since about 1990 and their service has been terrible lately. I wanted to open a savings account where it could not be touched unless both people were there to sign the lady said that's not going to happen here. She was incredibly unprofessional spending her time petting a dog and talking in her office while I was waiting for my appointment to start

Will be closing my accounts with this unhelpful bank. I had fraud on my account, I was advised by 877 # to go to the branch and file a claim and get a new card. I did as instructed. And the teller apparently didn't know what the hell he was doing because my new card doesn't work and it's the weekend and they can't do anything to fix it until Monday. I hope they hold this employee accountable for not knowing how to do his job. And losing the balances I did carry. Save yourself time and go to a different bank.

After a lot of hard work from Westerra's end, we finally reached a resolution. I was very pleased with the contact that followed this review, and I was kept informed every step of the way. It was not easy, but Amanda, Cynthia and Lonnie from Westerra Credit Union really helped change around this customer experience. It took a while, and a lot of effort, but I am so pleased with this team and how they handled my case. They worked hard to reach a resolution and made sure everything was followed through to the very end. I am grateful for this resolution and all that was put in to make this possible
