Habayit
You will never look at a falafel the same way again after dining at this nondescript Israeli spot in West Los Angeles. Mention Habayit and someone will inevitably point out that it's the only kosher restaurant west of the 405. The crack in the wall Habayit is a tiny, Israeli style restaurant situated in a small, outdoor mini mall.

The place is really small inside which makes it a little stuffy. Its a home style restaurant with the home style cooking and atmosphere. Habayit Restaurant offers the best Kosher Jewish, Mediterranean, and American-Israeli food in all of Los Angeles. Our family owned and operated restaurant serves all the favorites such as baba ganoush (eggplant with tehina), falafel, schwarma, and grilled schnitzel.

I don't even need to give this place a review because anyone who knows knows, but they do everything perfect and it's family owned. So.. good job I guess. Goodbye.

I'm only giving it four stars cuz I only ordered Matzo ball soup. The soup itself was delicious. Not salty, not greasy, very flavorful with dill and veggies. The matzo ball itself was in a separate container as it should be. It came with a pita which was also homemade and the real deal! I'll be back for sure. The name means 'home' and it is a perfect description of the food I had

Their location off an unassuming area of Pico Blvd., in a sleepy strip mall, is still unassuming.

The food on repeat visits tho... hasn't matched up to the first visit's mind-blowingly good beef kebab. In particular the grill combo plate was pricey and decidedly underwhelming.

Consistency is the hallmark that's difficult to achieve for a lot of places, and as superb as Habayit is capable of being, they aren't always on their A-game.

3.5 stars, but I will round up.

This used to be a staple lunch option when I was working at the office nearby. Have supported them through Covid ordering take out/delivery. Recently have noticed the quality and quantity included ... hoping is just a glitch in the matrix, as is usually fantastic. The falafel is fantastic - full of flavor and cooked to perfection; never dry.

If you don't mind some heat, load up on their green chillie sauce!!!

Very good homemade food (family owned and operated business). We came here after spending morning at Santa Monica State Beach. Falafel plate was delicious as well as babaganoush! I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Mediterranean cuisine.

Fabulous falafel plate - all of the essentials and nothing you don't need. Delicious falafel, fresh pita, generous amounts of hummus and tahini, and israeli salad. Matzoh ball soup was great and can be made vegetarian if you order the vegetable soup and matzoh ball separately. All in all a 10 out of 10 in terms of portion size, freshness, flavor, and value!

The food is always fresh and the owner is always welcoming and positive, he smiles and has something nice to say. I come here for the falafel because it's the best in town, and the hummus is difficult to beat.

I have been coming here for six years, and this is hands down the best Israeli food around. Matza ball soup, falafel, schnitzel, and meatballs are all some of my favorites. The quality is incredible, and it's never been compromised. They do catering, and one of my Jewish friends uses them for all her parties ( at least the ones she used to have before Covid).

Please support this mom and pop small business and order pickup!

Great little hole in the wall. Falafel pita was simple. Only falafels and a cucumber veggie mix. Hand cut fries were delicious.

Having tried the majority of mediterranean food on the Westside, Habayit is my #1 choice for sandwiches (goodbye Bay Cities).

The falafel sandwich is a well executed classic. Everything tastes so fresh I would have thought they had a garden in the back. As someone who is picky about falafel, Habayit does it right. The outside has the right crispness while the inside tastes fresh - not dry at all.

For an adventurous vegetarian option, I recommend the Sabih which is a mixed of hard boiled eggs, fried eggplant, hummus and veggies. A light yet energizing option that hits the spot.

I always opt

Food was tasty. Got the babaganoush, beef plate and fried chicken spitzel thing sandwich. Just personal preference, I prefer the beef cooked well done. Rice, fries and salad all taste good.

This place is open for pick up during the pandemic (Oct 2020).

Food DELICIOUS!
Eat here.
Done..
I had the Israeli Salad, Turkey Shawarma Plate, Hummos and took the spicy vegetable Salad to go.
Shawarma plate at sautéed potatoes like my mother and Hungarian aunts all made. Everything was so good!
And the pita...not baked on site but served grilled hot. Wow!
I will definitely be back!

Service- Decent but that's about as much as I can say about it.

The Place- pretty small and they did not have the air conditioning on the day I was there and it was pretty hot.

Food- I had the Combination Salad and it was pretty good.

Parking- Can be challenging as the parking lot is small and shares with other businesses. I have to find parking in the neighborhood and walk over.

This. Place. Is. Awesome.
Looking for authentic, fresh, tasty Israeli food anywhere in the West LA, Santa Monica area, this is you home (Bayit).
In search of great authentic Mediterranean, which has been scarce in our home area, We drove up to give this place a shot and man, they did not disappoint! From the Great Matzo Ball soup, the light and tasty falafel and Sabih, it was just perfect. With the biggest win of all being the Authentic, thick and warm pitas, that can hold on the this food, unlike the common thin "pita" found in so many other "Mediterranean" places, which fall
